2000 USD in savings seems like a really small amount, but I don't know where you live. Maybe 2000 USD is a decent amount in some African, Latin American or Asian country. You have a "low income" problem, not a "not enough savings" problem. Try to increase your income, and you will have to more money to save in whatever financial assets you want. Don't get too attached to any financial asset. Bitcoin cannot "change your life". Stocks, ETFs and index funds cannot "change your life". One thing that can change your life is a big enough income stream.

I think that it can't be stopped when people bet with their future through Bitcoin. Because of how many lives that it did changed in the past and there's still a lot of us that have been reliant on it with our futures, that's why others are also thinking of the same. With investors, the most important thing is whether they can invest their money in a good asset like Bitcoin. That's right, as you improve your financial situation and find ways to increase your income. It's not only you'll be able to buy more Bitcoins but also, you're going to get good with your life in general. I don't know who's David Goggins but I agree that sometimes you have to sit back and relax a bit thinking of what you must do next. And there's nothing wrong that something might save you from what you want to be out with. We can see that it's with Bitcoin, I did that as well when I was new and thought that it will help me in a lot of aspects of my life and I wasn't wrong. We just have to be consistent and needs to do all the work to have it and then it will work the rest when the price goes higher. When you are there, another good problem is going to come out but I won't tell you and it's best to leave it there for you to find out.

But one question keeps coming back to me recently: what if my current circumstances simply aren’t enough for that?

Maybe what feels like small steps now could become meaningful value over a very long period (15–20 years) and could help my future children (if I will have the opportunity to become a father) more than me, or it will only make a big difference for me when I reach my 40s or 50s. You are already asking the wrong question. Do you have a better investment that is an alternative to Bitcoin? No? Then why would you even ask such a question? It does not bring you any benefit at all. Furthermore it seems to be tailored in a way that you hope Bitcoin makes you rich, that you get an easy life without putting much effort. That is the completely wrong approach from Bitcoin. Here are some pointers to revise.

1) From the most valuable point, Bitcoin provides sovereignty and freedom in a world that continues its path towards obsessive totalitarian control. If you don't value this more than fiat, you have a lot of maturing and learning to do. This is more valuable than any amount of fiat value that you hope to gain here.
2) From the second most valuable point, Bitcoin stops you from constantly losing value in fiat. A lot of people asking these questions don't understand that $100 today is not the same as $100 tomorrow or $100 in 10 years. All your money is constantly devaluing and you are not better off by spending it as fast as possible either, that is just dumb consuming. First and foremost Bitcoin provides an escape from a inflationary world to a fixed supply one with decreasing inflation.
3) From the third most valuable point, Bitcoin provides you increase value in the fiat units of accounting.

Most people are focused on the third point and it is these people that get the least amount of value from Bitcoin. They often sell too early, make other financial mistakes and continue to live as fiat slaves. Focus on thinking about the first point and then you can find all the answers to yourself.

If you solely rely on bitcoin, I think there's less chances that you will achieve what you have in your mind. Invest in other assets as well even at a small amount, that way you will have different flows of income on a consistent basis. Once your profits compiled, you will save a huge amount. Well, we're all desperate if it's about our family and future, that's why we're doing something as desperate it can be if we know that it will impact our lives greatly. I remember all of those ICO days when almost every project was so good that they have become so successful not until the scams have came and the market have drought that hype in the ICOs. But it's a different thing with bitcoin but you shouldn't put all of your bet in it when you have some other things in life to get busied with and spend with your money.

the same applies if you like to save money or if you plan to work and get payed in btc.
mostly you can also adopt a philosophy bitcoin style... many people choose to live a very frugal life even if they are rich with bitcoin.

The smart approach is the one that helps you. In this case, preserving and increasing the value of your income (that $100 per month you're willing to invest). I think it's foolish not to take advantage of an opportunity that helps build your future capital (bitcoin also acts as a piggy bank, since you save money but don't spend it until a certain point). This will at least create some cushion for the future (savings), and ultimately, it will increase the value of your savings (as opposed to the depreciation of money due to inflation if you save it as "money").

I would say it would need 4-5 years, give or take, to see the biggest results on your BTCs to gain the most during the next cycle that would happen.

This is why I keep saying that nothing is really guaranteed in bitcoin investment, especially if you’re hoping to make an instant profit as a way of changing your life then the individual us getting it all wrong because it doesn’t work that way. It takes time and patience with consistency.
