As bad as this is, I don't think it will affect the reputation of the NBA in anyway. This is a personal misconduct issue and I am also glad that the NBA has rules and deserving punishments for those who go against these rules.

These are two large organizations the MAFIA and NBA, the first mentioned, run the casinos and fill up their men as bookmakers. The business won't thrive if they don't win big through mischievous approaches on games and competitions. For the fact it's happening in NBA this news is enough to slightly change the minds of players towards the officials of NBA.

It’s not a big deal because the media doesn’t want to make it a big deal. Leagues like the NBA are already huge and have been around for decades, so they’re not gonna let this kind of news ruin their image. Players might get convicted or banned, but the NBA will always come out looking clean so the business keeps running.

And honestly, the ones fixing games are still out there. They only get caught when it’s already too late, and by that time they’ve already made a lot of money. The punishment isn’t even that serious, most of the time it’s just a ban from the league, no jail time.

There are lots of people who have been suspicious of the NBA league, but due to a lack of evidence, they just keep quiet.  I do not believe that there is a sport that is free from game fixing.  At one point in time, each sports have this under-the-table deal or behind-the-scenes agreement.

We have read several cases of players who mysteriously disappear or killed due to game fixing either involvement or refusal to cooperate.

It is a sad state when players are throwing games… The NBA has always been questionable though. Nobody can tell me that their drafts aren’t rigged. Every year the first pick seems to go to the right team. They even adjusted how the lottery works so it doesn’t seem like teams are regularly beating the odds.

Am sure the NBA and NFL does screen and scrutinize players or teams or even officials from time to time and that's why I believe that although match fixing is doable and very possible, sooner or later, the truth will be exposed, just as in the story of OP.
 I mean these are top leagues not like other junior leagues where less is spent on detail to ensure fairness. Those caught will suffer penalties including their team if caught involved.

We're not removing that possibility. But even if one of theirs have mentioned it, we'll not going to see them as visible as it can be.

There could be fixed matches that no one comes out until they're out of the league and exposes it. So, even if there are real accusations with proofs.

Still no one will figure it out until somebody mentions it that it's for real and are happening. Like a closed door meetings that no one gets to say what they've talked to.

1. Definitely, there is honest risk that the NBA may be manipulated in ways we have not completely revealed yet.
2. This controversy is a firm signal to prove that the league's principle is not bulletproof, mostly with legit gambling and coordinated crime intersecting.
3. Though: we don't own definitive evidence of league-wide fixed games. The only thing that we have is a strong investigation, and only that is okay to establish red flags for the dept this can be.
When this works out, it may force the NBA to have a rethink on how it supervises betting, compells insider info guidelines, and secure it's integrity of competition. So as a fan or maybe as viewers, it is entirely alright to be worried — these aren't little accusations.

Well if you get intouch with wrong people they can manipulate you pretty easily and this happens to a lot of people but i still dont understand how players allow this to happen. If it wasnt the wrong people or mafia thats just another subject. Because if you got such a big salary and you allow this to happen its pretty stupid for such a low payout. I think they probobly added a lot of bets and more money then we know on this kind of bets

See this… it can even be linked to fixed sports betting. These people are already influential, but they still chose to work with the mafia. It’s crazy that this kind of thing hasn’t really been talked about considering how much it should impact the NBA’s reputation. And honestly, I feel like they’re not the only ones doing it, there’s probably more inside that just hasn’t been exposed yet.

Everyone knows that making a deal with a Mafia is not good because even though you are done with the deal you made with a Mafia they will not allow you to get out, it is very hard to deal in such situations. It's good to mind the type of people you do things with so you don't get into trouble.
