These were two attacks.

The first attack was on Christ Apostolic Church during a special service. The attackers targeted the worshippers,  killed three and kidnapped the pastor and some other people.

The second later happened in the evening. The bandits reportedly launched another violent attack along the Ilorin–Kabba Road, forcing travellers and residents to abandon their vehicles and flee into nearby bushes. Two people were killed while some people were kidnapped.

To understand about these better, read the news here: https://punchng.com/bandits-kill-five-abduct-others-in-kwara-community-attacks/

On a daily basis we keep hearing how bandits are terrorizing different parts of the country yet the President hasn't said a word about the killings and kidnapping going on in the country, but he was very quick to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State over political tussles between Governor Siminalaye Fubara and Nyesom Wike. What is happening in Kwara and Kebbi demands a state of emergency.

This bandits needs to be sort out by the military and it's only the President that can give such order, yet he is quiet. I heard on the news yesterday that he is depressed and has asked the vice President Shetimma to come over to South Africa where he went for a submit, this people tend to play politics with the lives of Nigerians, the kidnappers are demanding for ransom from the parents of their victims, where would they get money to give to this people?, the government has failed us and it's high time the United States Government comes to our aids or the citizens are left with no other option than to seek for self defense.

The banditry and killings in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole are becoming alarming. Nigeria is no longer secure. The soldiers who were trained to protect lives are now afraid for their own safety.

A recent case involved victims who were kidnapped in Kwara North and released a few weeks ago. According to the account of one of the victims, after the family paid the ransom, the bandits first blindfolded them and transported them on motorcycles. When they reached a certain location, they were unblindfolded and gathered in a field. A few hours later, a helicopter with “POLICE” written boldly on it came to pick them up. It flew them to a large open field surrounded by soldiers and handed them over to the military. They were later taken to Zobi Barracks Hospital.

According to the victim, before they could be formally released, the Commander insisted that the Governor of Kwara State must be present. The family members were denied access until the Governor arrived. The following day, the news and newspapers reported that troops had “rescued” the kidnapped victims, showing photos of the Governor and soldiers with the victims.

In my view, the government and other actors are playing games with the lives of Nigerians. Because of greed and the struggle for power, it seems that some groups within government may be sponsoring these bandit groups. The relationship between bandits and soldiers appears suspicious; they seem to be either cooperating or avoiding each other.

From the victim’s story, a helicopter with “POLICE” written on it picked the victims and delivered them to soldiers. Also, bandits were able to communicate directly with soldiers and family members when negotiating ransom. So why can’t our network providers track their locations and conversations?

Another question is: why can’t the helicopter be tracked? Today, when you buy a car or motorcycle, you must do several registrations and paperwork, and you are given a plate number before you can freely drive around. So why can’t the government track a helicopter and hold the pilot accountable? A helicopter is not as common as a taxi or motorcycle.

My point is: the government is aware of the sponsors of these bandit groups and is playing games with the lives of innocent people. I have been thinking about this deeply, and it gives me a headache because I cannot understand why.

Another one again? Is there no military or police in this country?, I thought the federal government has distributed army and other forces on those places to fight the insecurity, so that was a lies, this is the high time they should relocate all the Christian on the North because is only when someone is not a victim of those things you can preach to somebody, I'm beginning to believe that Christian is there only target even if they do attack the Muslim because I cannot think of other reason why they're going into Christian churches to attack them, when I see the way they slaughter people is as if they're another creature different from human. Waiting the government for do be say them for declare all this state a lockdown from a certain time so that all the people that will be moving around go be military so that there will not be any means for those bandits to attack people.

Wetin you expect from the government na, dem dey always dey sentimental wen something involve the Northern states. Wetin happen for Rivers State wey make dem declare state of emergency but see how different news about bandits and boko haram dey come out from those Northern states but the government just dey behave like say dem no see anything. When last you don see the media report anything concerning how the military dey tackle insecurity, but during the time of Goodluck Jonathan dem dey report the progress wey the military don make to fight insecurity. Nigeria really dey in big mess now because if dem even check am well, dis terrorists and bandits no be all of dem be Nigerians, some of dem from other neighboring countries come dey terrorize Nigeria. I agree say make the Christians relocate come back to the eastern and Southern states instead of to dey that side dey allow those terrorists to kill dem like chicken but on the other way round e go also lead to problem because Christians wey dey dos Eastern and Northern States no go take am lightly with Muslims and e fit result to religious war.
