Yes just confirm it this afternoon and it was a sad news around 1pm last night it happened, honestly speaking the level of insecurity in the country is becoming some else, the so called political system is just completely corrupt, and the sad story is that their still collecting a ransom of about hundred million naira each to them in cash.

Armed attackers stormed St. Mary’s Papiri Private Catholic Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA, Niger State, in the early hours of Friday, 21 Nov 2025. They broke into the boarding facilities between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., kidnapping an unknown number of students and teachers. Local media reports give conflicting figures: Arise TV said about 52 children were taken, while community officials quoted by several outlets claim the total could be over 100 students and staff . The Niger State Police and military have deployed tactical units to the area and are conducting search operations, but no group has yet claimed responsibility. A security guard was seriously injured during the raid, and the Catholic Diocese of Kontagora has urged calm and cooperation with authorities.

The annoying part is this incident is just happening around just 5 days after those 25 schoolgirls where kidnapped from their school in Kebbi and one other incident I'm struggling to recall now. The. See this incident right at our doorstep which makes it scary. Niger State used to be one of the safest states to live as of last 7 to 10 years ago when it comes to peaceful coexistence but today, Niger has been turned to a safe heaven for bandits and more recently, terrorists tooo. This is a ripple effect that has been caused due to first, our proximity with those affected states like Kebbi that has been terrorized lately and I guess even these perpetrators came in from Kebbi state if I'm not mistaken.

Trust me when I say all these things are political and they are funded by politicians who are against the incumbent government and I think this pattern started during the time of yar'adua's regime to bring his government down but they didn't succeed then and were able to successfully bring the administration of Jonathan to an end, but since then, it has now become a new pattern oppositions whether the enemies are within or outside, they are the ones making an administration frustrated with the collaboration of some highly placed military personnels too I believe.

It is like a network of cabals running this, next year now they will be using these incidents to count the failures of this administration and reasons why we should choose them instead. I'm not a sympathizer of this government oo, but if you look at things closely since way back, you will notice this is more or less becoming like a pattern today. But we are the ones suffering it the more, sadly enough.

The total number of persons kidnapped to me is not really the issue, it’s the constant reoccurrence of this terrible incidents without the government taking drastic measures to stop it that’s my issue, they ain’t ready to intervene and they also don’t want to grant access to the international community probably because of their selfish political interest, who knows if the people kidnapped are still alive or what terrible circumstance they will be facing, the news this past week has been really disturbing and only a quick intervention can save us all.

It is just unfortunate that in almost all the part of the world, their is one issue or the other and clearly there is no safe zone in any part of the nation. people can no longer worship freely in churches and at the same time, learning in schools is now an issue because safety is no longer guaranteed. sadly, it is almost looking like it is just a mater of time before the part of the country that appears relatively safe eventually joins in a thing as this that has become a major nation concern.

Thanks  to the efforts of  our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued.
 
I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State, have been recovered.

BBC reported that over 315 people were kidnapped in that incident and  this is just happening days after the Kwara incidence too. One bad this about Nigeria and it's politicians is that they don't public figures the way it is sometimes because of fear of revolt from the masses. Days ago I saw a news on the NTA which said that over 1600 pupils have been kidnapped since the 2014 chibok girls saga. All these have happened and not many of them were aired to the public. Politicians keep covering up claiming they are putting things under control While things keep getting worse. This is every day news. I. A space of less than 14 days, kebbi students were kidnapped, Kwara worshippers abducted and then Niger state.

I am beginning to believe the words of Late General Sani Abacha that "When insurgency lasts more than 24 hours, the government has a hand in it". These people milk the country dry with all these kidnappings everywhere. I see it as a section of the government too. When will Nigeria get better?
