In fact, you gave more importance to Altcoins and you thought that you would become a big money owner very quickly by investing in Altcoins but when you did the calculations, all your misconceptions came to the fore. But always remember that Bitcoin is always the best and if people want to get rich, they can get rich by investing in this Bitcoin. If it has to be invested for a long term, then there is still a guarantee. I understand the sentiment that you don't want to punch down. But man, sometimes we have to accept the mistake, otherwise we will never learn from it. I believe the biggest mistake was to trade all the $3,000 he saved up over the years. If you want to try a new strategy sure, but why risk it all? Anyways, no point in discussing that because he already lost it all.

Altcoins have pumped but the risk-reward ratio is too high to consider them. With BTC, you at least sleep peacefully knowing that you will not lose everything overnight and worst case it goes down, just hold and wait for the right time.

Not sure about long-term investment but it's heartbreaking to hear OP's story. I can't imagine working hard for 4 years, saving all the money by cutting down on expenses, and then losing all that money to a stupid trading decision. I'd be depressed, honestly and at least happy OP dared to write what happened with him so some of us can learn and avoid making the same mistake as him.

It's easy to say in hindsight but altcoins are not the right choice for any trader who is starting with their life savings from the last 4 years. The alt market is way too volatile and dangerous to risk it.

That's true but do you know that most people that invest in Bitcoin just invest to make money, which they don't have the mindset to really  know what investing in bitcoin is really all about.
And this has make them to have only one perspective of bitcoin, which is to just get or have profit after their investment is due instead of also thinking about what they need to do in order to have a successful investment, because they need to know that there are important things that one needs to do, which will help and guide them through the journey and this is the most important steps for people to follow.

The good thing about the four year cycle that, if you missed this one, then take the next one. For example 2026 suppose to be a bear run, that means you can buy it when the price is low, and if you do that then you are going to end up with a good result later on. So that means, if you missed your chance to sell at the top, then sell right now, wait for it to drop, then buy at the bottom again, and then keep waiting until it goes back, you will make some profit that way and will recover from the previous one.

I didn’t quite understand what you were saying at the very end. You said that if you had spent $3,000 on Bitcoin in 2022, when it was priced at $15,000 you would now have $87,000. But I see a big mistake here, because if you had spent 3,000 dollars and bought Bitcoin at $15,000, you would have gotten 0.2 BTC. Even if you take the high price and sell 0.2 BTC by $125,000  you would get $25,000 not $87,000.
