Maintaining consistency and stability requires long term thinking, but most people cannot do this and we have become accustomed to living in the moment. Because humans are emotional beings. None of us are robots, and there are many times when we cannot be consistent. I think the most important thing here is to learn from the times when we are not consistent. Not giving up after every negative outcome and learning from it to become more consistent and disciplined is a great achievement.

If you are not completely sure what you want, it will be difficult to talk about consistency. Being sure of what we want would be an ideal scenario to start with. We shouldn't view inconsistency as failure because it's entirely human nature. However, our goal should always be to maintain consistency. It's possible to achieve discipline and consistency by setting realistic goals and establishing routines.

Indeed staying consistent is not easy,it needs you quiet,steady and without excuses.So are you consistent or merely motivated?
The title is wrong and the setup of the thread is pretty weak and shows that you didn't even read a blog post on this topic. Why someone gave you even 1 merit for this should be investigated for potential merit and account farming.


Now to address the topic at hand. There is no such thing as "another form" of discipline. Discipline is discipline, it is a single thing. Motivation and discipline are completely different concepts that have nothing to do with each other. Motivation is closer to the mechanism that related to instant gratification, it just inverses the thing from consuming to doing but it is usually a fleeting thing and quite weak. Discipline is always going to be superior to motivation, no matter what. This shows the most when the environment of the person is bad. Motivation will drop down extremely when the person is having a bad day or when something really bad happens such as the death of a loved one. Those events are usually then being used as an excuse to not do something, an excuse to be lazy. In the case of real discipline, the person would continue their activity despite of the challenges that are present. Discipline is a growing skill that does not have a ceiling. The more you do it, the stronger it becomes. However, every time you give in to an excuse it becomes weaker. Motivation is worthless and comes and goes.

But sometimes, consistency can feel exhausting. I myself have intended to be consistent in something, but over time, it became tiring and I decided to stop.
No. This just means that you have never reached a strong state of discipline. Your life is oriented towards meaningless activities that pretty much everyone does, from watching Netflix to playing video games and other recreational activities. You put those first, and things that take effort, time, work and discipline come second. They are an obstacle for you to do those meaningless other activities. A disciplined person's life is tailored the other way. First the important things come, and once they have been properly done then can the other recreational activities be done with the time that is left.

If the system of motivation was always active or could be kept active within oneself then people could go far but this inspiration is not always active, even if we get inspiration for some time, it fades after some time or after a few days. However, there are some inspirations that are ingrained inside and only those who work hard and move forward can do something good. Inspiration can revive the spiritual power within a person and if one can work accordingly then it is definitely possible to do something good.
According to my personal experience, yes I can say that motivation usually fades away. We will be motivated until and unless we have the need but once we see the need being fulfilled, we will start losing motivation and might get distracted.

We will again be motivated if we find ourself in similar situation again which will happen real soon because we were not consistent. Consistency is the key to balance our lives financially and without consistency, we keep on working hard for a meanwhile, spend some good time and get back to hardwork once we are in need. Not being consistent feels like doing donkey work. We only work if there is any financial burden and will relax in the other time. This can ruin our habits. We need to change this on priority to be consistent and keep ourselves financially stable.

Things that aren't easy to do will give birth to goodness or success in the future. That's the case for someone who consistently does whatever they do. It's certainly not easy to maintain consistency, but the results you'll get if you succeed are incredibly satisfying.
I've also been at a point where I'm tired of being consistent, but I always remember the ultimate goal, and I believe that hard work never betrays the results.
Right hard work is not really doing a very heavy job but the act of remaining consistent even with all the wavy moments, that's the hard work we used to hear about now I have come to the understanding that it's even more hard to be unbroken in the mentality than to be physically tired, the capacity to stay strong in hard tempting events towards your goal is the real hard work. Consistency is the haed woke for me.
I don't think we really have to work hard if we have consistency. Consistency can make our lives much easier because all we have to do is focus on one single thing and make sure we follow it every single day without any sudden breaks. The moment we break this chain is when we start having issues. Once we stop being consistent, it is really difficult to be back on track again and it will not only need motivation but we also have to mentally prepare our mind to come back on track.

If we are not consistent then yes, hard work will come into picture. We will work once in a while so will have to work as hard as possible to cover the missed days and this is only going to stress us both mentally and physically.

Being consistent is really not easy, now I can confirm that a lot of bad days will show up more than good days, you will feel the need to quit but if only you can be strong enough to go through those days, it's just just being or a saying that one needs to be strong but it's very difficult to even be yourself to be consistent,I have been consistent for a while but at some point it feels like I should quit but now I realise there will be bad days so it's fine to be sad but never to go back on the journey.
If you've been taught discipline consistently by your parents since childhood, then I don't think it's difficult to achieve. It all depends on the individual's education and, in my opinion, the key. If we can be consistent, discipline can be applied in any area, whether it's saving, lifestyle, or time management.

But sometimes, consistency can feel exhausting. I myself have intended to be consistent in something, but over time, it became tiring and I decided to stop.
Do you think if consistency is thought by parents it wouldn't be hard, you were taught consistency when you were a kid but the truth is you do nor remember but does that help you solve the problem of inconsistency in adulthood of course not in adulthood you have to do it with all consciousness but during childhood you did it without your consciousness so it was easy like trying to walk you kept trying untill you did it but in adulthood you have to get over but other life challenges when still facing consistency problems.

Consistency comes with the right mindset and discipline. If you are not actually goal-oriented and is not focused on your plans, its hard to be consistent on what you're currently doing. And if you are not a true believer of bitcoin or whatever form of investment you take risk right now, you cant give the consistency it requires.

Not true. Hard work does not absolutely guarantee any succeeds and most people fail in whatever endeavor that they pursue. What is often the missing link and most people don't understand that hard work itself is useless, it is most often very dumb work. Repetitive, slow actions that some people think will yield with results. Smart hard work is where things are at, and only a tiny minority of people are actually operating like that. You can't just do the same things over and over again, your mind must always be analyzing the environment and looking for improvements.

No. Motivation often fades before people accomplish anything at all. New Year's resolutions are a dumb concept that drives NPCs to attempt something that they will probably fail it, purely out of motivation. Most quit within weeks of attempting it, therefore their motivation runs out before they manage to do anything at all.

What we need to understand is that motivation can fluctuate. But discipline can keep you going even when your enthusiasm is low. So in my opinion, being consistent does require discipline.

Because discipline can shape your character from your own habits. In fact according to one study, it takes three months to form a habit, and this also depends on the complexity of the habit, the frequency of doing it, etc. So being consistent is certainly not easy to do in just six days especially if you want to change a complex problem.

For example, in case of video games, you pick up a new game >> you suck at it at first >> but if you continue, you master it eventually — anybody who plays video games will get what I mean.
It only proves that consistency creates difference. It may not give you instant positive result, but if you still chose to be consistent then, I am saying this in general aspects, mastery will be achieved. Without discipline, its hard to be consistent and goal-oriented, but if you remain to be discipline regardless of some failures and losses, you will not just win on your battle, but you will also learn a great lesson that good things do not happen in an instant, its a product of hard work and consistency. And if you are consistent, the amount of patience is also immeasurable.

Do you think if consistency is thought by parents it wouldn't be hard, you were taught consistency when you were a kid but the truth is you do nor remember but does that help you solve the problem of inconsistency in adulthood of course not in adulthood you have to do it with all consciousness but during childhood you did it without your consciousness so it was easy like trying to walk you kept trying untill you did it but in adulthood you have to get over but other life challenges when still facing consistency problems.
If truly a child was thought consistency when they grow they will obviously notice it in their approach towards life issues, career paths and decision making. Adulthood is an accumulation of childhood actions and decisions. Someone who grew up being mentored to be consistent will grow into it without stress because they are already accustomed to it. Most people struggling with consistency have the issues because they never had the opportunity when they were much younger.

Maintaining consistency and stability requires long term thinking, but most people cannot do this and we have become accustomed to living in the moment. Because humans are emotional beings. None of us are robots, and there are many times when we cannot be consistent. I think the most important thing here is to learn from the times when we are not consistent. Not giving up after every negative outcome and learning from it to become more consistent and disciplined is a great achievement.

If you are not completely sure what you want, it will be difficult to talk about consistency. Being sure of what we want would be an ideal scenario to start with. We shouldn't view inconsistency as failure because it's entirely human nature. However, our goal should always be to maintain consistency. It's possible to achieve discipline and consistency by setting realistic goals and establishing routines.
In this life, we all want to be this person who never misses a day by waking up in the morning and hitting the gym, save some money for ourselves and zero excuses but in real life, life does not work like so, some days you will up with one bad day or small problem and the whole plan is already scattered. This is because we are humans and not robots and no human on earth is perfect or close to perfection. But the advise is, whenever you feel you have messed up either by not being able to meet up with a target or by missing some of your routine, instead of you languishing in regrets, it is better you just stand up and say tomorrow you will try harder and when the next day reaches, wake up and try to achieve it by reminding yourself of how the previous day made you feel bad for not meeting up. It becomes difficult for you to comeback to the routine again and this is why the discussion about consistency lies. Consistency is not the amount of success planning you get all the time but the amount of times you are able to work hard to write the wrongs either by covering up your missed days in doing something or retrying your missed steps in achieving a target.

What we need to understand is that motivation can fluctuate. But discipline can keep you going even when your enthusiasm is low. So in my opinion, being consistent does require discipline.
"Can" is the wrong word here, it is too weak. Discipline will keep you going. If you are truly disciplined you will keep going even when you feel terrible or exhausted. If you don't keep going then you never had discipline to begin with, you just imagined that you did.

In fact according to one study, it takes three months to form a habit, and this also depends on the complexity of the habit, the frequency of doing it, etc. So being consistent is certainly not easy to do in just six days especially if you want to change a complex problem.
That is not true, the estimate is too liberal. Probably closer to 6-12 months for proper habit development. Sometimes these studies have very easygoing definitions of habits. If you do something for 3 months and continue for another 3 and then quit, was it a habit?  Roll Eyes

I know what you mean, but there are people who are consistent but don't improve, namely those who don't study seriously when they do it. Basically, they do it consistently and with discipline, but in fact, their progress doesn't have a big effect in the long run. The question is how capable they are of winning every moment they do to learn to be better.

As we know, some people learn quickly and others learn slowly, even though their consistency is the same and they use the same methods, but the results are different. It's like in video games you play; your peers' abilities can be lower or higher than yours.

The same applies to achieving success in your career in life.

Not a lot of people realize this, but being consistent for 10 years will "nearly" guarantee you wealth, surely there could be mistakes along the way but it is quite possible. So why do people not do it? Because the trick is that most people would lose their nerves when they see price move that much, and that is what happens. I do not think that you are telling the truth. People would sell along the way and that is why we are going to see that being a bad problem and it is not going to change at all and should be an issue.
