If you, as a player, lose control of yourself, which leads to spending more money than you should have, the best thing to do is avoid making a second mistake, which is chasing losses, thinking you could be able to recover that one lost out of mistake because that mistake of chasing your losses is never easy to come back from. The more you chase the loss, the higher the amount you lose.
Yes, what you should do precisely is not continue playing if you know you're tired or have had a significant losing streak. It's not good to keep playing, but something happens when you gamble: your mind gets stuck on the idea of continuing to play and win. But that's something you should put aside. It's better to save that money and play at another time, not to always make the same mistake of trying to recover losses.

I also support this opinion since the pursuit of losses is one of the most significant factors that make gamblers lose more than they intended. As soon as a player begins to gamble emotionally, the focus of his or her intentions is not on fun anymore but rather on recovery, which is the general tendency that results in bad choices. The brain continues to assure the gambler that the next bet will solve all the problems but most of the times it leads to a worse situation. It is important to know when to quit particularly following a losing streak or when one is tired. It is not a matter of desperation but rather a matter of discipline and limits in which gambling should be done because in this way losses will continue piling and not be reclaimed.

I also have the personal theory that people suffer some change on their brain chemistry when they switch from gambling for fun to gambling for the sake of chasing their losses... Even if there is no actually any dopamine involved (since one does not chase losses for pleasure).

There must be some addictive factor which make people to run after those losses and seek to recover their money as far as possible, people turn off their common sense and allow whatever happens on their brain to take over and gamble everything left away.

I would like to say that I think it's just human nature, nobody wants to loss. There is this fighting spirit in human that wants you to recover back, especially if what you lost was not lost in the right way or for something good and beneficial. Of course, we know it's a different feeling when you buy an electronics or anything that you need with your money,  compared to when you dash your loss your money to gambling without any tangible thigh you got in return for it, you will always want to get it back, and yur brain will keep shouting, fount again, you will get it right and recover, and that's where the real loss sets in.

It's a good thing that at some point, we can resist the thought and feeling to fight and recover your losses, especially in gambling, and gamblers must learn the best way to resist this spirit of wanting to win back, because, if you observe, you will notice that you will only loss little if you leave early and not want to win back, than deciding to fight and the ironically loos everything

It's like a vicious cycle, because the player becomes increasingly more ardent and frantic in their attempts to place a bet, and ultimately, they no longer understand the true value of money. They simply want to escape this state as quickly as possible, but this only makes things worse. I don't want to go down this path, so I've simply learned to quit when I need to, namely, as soon as I think about it, and I don't give myself any excuse to continue. Even though my brain tries to come up with a million reasons to continue, I know it's a hoax and a trap that most players fall into. Just don't try to convince yourself, that's all.
This is because when money is digital and on a bankroll in a casino, it doesn't feel real like in your hands. When you are in a physical casino, things are much different than some crypto casino. In fact, so much so that even if you are playing with fiat somewhere, or maybe stablecoin, you get to see dollar amount and it's more serious and the chasing of a loss becomes less common, whereas if it is something like lets say you gamble with dogecoin, it becomes much more relax and you are more willing to lose it.

This happens even when the amount is the same, 100 dollars in USDT, and 100 dollars in dogecoin but dogecoin gets to be gambled a lot quicker. This is the reason and many people chase because of this difference.
