300 Good reports achieved!

Congratulations for reaching this milestone OP! We should all be doing our best to help the moderators and make the forum cleaner. I'm still quite far from 300, but I'll try to be on the lookout for reportable posts.

I guess some of you know the reason why I suggested giving merits for good reports. It’s because I’m not the type of user who posts high quality post or what you called constructive post and of course I’m not farming for merit. (But yeah, one reason I made this thread is hoping I might get some merit lol)

To be honest, I'm also one of those user who feel jealous of accounts like created in 2024 that are already Legendary rank, while I’ve been here for almost 10 years and I’m still Hero Member. not your problem don't worry it all about me. lol

Just like @Zwei said, it's because most of your posts are in the gambling boards. You can achieve Legendary rank too, but of course you have to put in the effort. After all, merits are earned, not given.

This is the only effort I can give to bitcointalk for now. It’s difficult because if I put too much into it, I might miss other opportunities. I hope you know what I mean.  

You don't really have to make super long posts, just keep this quote in mind:

I finally reached my first 300 Good Report to moderator.

I just wanted to share this achievement because it makes me really happy..
There may not be any rewards for these good reports for me but I’m still proud of this because I feel I help the forum to make it clean. Hopefully, in the future admins could consider giving merits for good reports, such as 1 merit per report (I think someone already suggested this). I understand that suggestion could be abused through multiple accounts or spamming by doing it by themselves, but similar abuses have already happened with account farming merit abuse.

Instead it would be more interesting if reporters get a badge or additional title. Of course there should some criteria to get the badge or additional title. But merit for report just will create more spams, like spammers will create multiple accounts to make spam post and report from another account to get merits. So the purpose of the merit will be invalid. At least I am not agree with that suggestion, you saw merit abuse those who already have merits. But in this way, you can build account from zero.

However just sharing my reports history though lately I am not much reporting due to busy schedule.

Great job in achieving 300 "good" reports and making the forum a better, spam-free, place. As @The Cryptovator also mentioned, it would be a nice addition for some users to receive "tags" for reaching certain milestones, such as 500 or 1000 good reports. I have a little over 700 reports, with 650 good ones.

I used to be more active in the report scene, and especially in the AI report thread, but due to limited time the past few months I haven't been as active as I would like to be.

This will be a good thing to encourage people to report more. The other forum has a similar feature where the admin and the president actually reward the reporter for a valid report. Regarding abuse, the admin can easily identify which accounts are accessed from the same IP address. Reporting a brand-new account and a somewhat established account should have different levels of credibility. If such abuse is found, the admin can punish the abuser.

He later earned a large number of merits from the local merit source, specifically for his work. I'm saying this because the trust of the moderators is earned not only by rank but also by the accuracy of reports. Sometimes, newbies can be very helpful by reading and simultaneously reporting posts they consider useless. The great thing about the forum is that it's open to everyone's input.

Seeing your thread about good reports made me go check on my own reporting stats. I honestly thought that the number would be bigger, but I guess I don't report posts as often as I thought I did. I only have 1 bad report, which is nice to see, and 9 semi-bad ones. Unhandled reports are part good, part bad. If they were good enough, the mods would have handled them but they didn't.

I disagree. Report accuracy doesn’t matter much. You can’t shy away from reporting bad posts just because you are afraid of making a bad report or ruining a perfect record.

You may be right and I think that’s what wrong with the world today. Everything’s a show, there aren’t so many genuine. For me, reporting is quite easy. It’s a simple question of ‘does this post add value to the community’ or ‘is this topic in the right board’, if the mods think I’m wrong then so be it. I still get a pat on the back saying “Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.”
