Heartbreaking Loss: 25 Leg Parlay To Win $5740 Loses by 1 Leg

I did the research and picked my spots. This one stings. 24 legs hit and Cal’s 38-35 upset of SMU killed the ticket and the $5740 payout. Hedging didn’t make sense late since too many legs were still open. My only mistake was using a book with no early payout option. I want to know what the offers looked like before the final stretch. It hurts, but can't dwell on it. When you take any parlay, especially a big multi-leg one, you know the rules and the risk. Nothing matters except absolute perfection.

Sadly, SMU losing 35-38 to Cal killed this 25-leg parlay as well. 18 legs won, SMU leg lost and and only two Sunday European soccer legs and four NFL legs (6 legs) were left for Sunday. Real and Inter should win their matches today and the NFL picks were on favorites and strong.

I went back and forth over including an Inter Miami leg and finally decided not to... Mistake.  Not that I would have replaced the SMU leg, but betting on Messi is always a good move!!

I hit a 25 leg 2 weeks ago that is posted in the Forum... However, because there were so many overwhelming favorites it was only $75 to win about $1550.  Still a good win when betting that many legs though.

Today's was fun.  Several games were close and I had to tune and watch them live on television towards the end.  After getting off to a bad start, SMU took the lead on Cal in the 4th quarter.  I was 100% certain if SMU won, I would win the parlay and the $5740, but they faltered at the end.  It sucks.  Also bummed that my well thought out ticket for tomorrow (which was likely going to win) also loses because of SMU.  Guess I won't have to wake up early to watch European futbol...

You're totally right, the $127 I staked definitely reflected my confidence in the picks. I thought I nailed this one and almost did. Almost is not enough with parlays but I need to start wagering at a different book that has early cash out.  Not sure I would have accepted an offer, but it's good to have the option.

He will mind not to share it here lol. This is one thing that people don't do, they don't give out the real source of how they have been able to work out certain difficult situation except op will prove otherwise.

But he surely have made a good parlay and we know the challenges of parlay.

Yes, if he had lost earlier it might not be painful, but if you lost in the last leg of your parlay for sure it will sting. Also I'm also curious as what sports bookies he bet as there are no early "cash-out"? That's weird because of that massive leg so at least at some point bookies might offer him so decent money that he might have contemplated to cash out if he feels that something might be off later.

But still though, it just shows that parlay is possible to hit as what he had shown early.

This time, the result didn't favor him but I'm still seeing the OP going for another big multi-leg bet again.

This is always sad. It hurts more when you have the opportunity for an early cash out but you chose to Stay to the end. I'm sure the booker you using doesn't allow Early cash out. You can check out Betpanda. It does and interface is good. When ever a game has cut my parlay I always pray for more to cut it so my mind can be at ease. Sorry for the loss.

I don't know what to say I have personally never seen anyone hit a 25 leg parlay which as far as I know is the maximum allowed in many sport bookies. I have tried myself to win 25 leg parlays and copied other people bets because I am not creative enough to create one such big parlay but never been close, never this close as you. Many people say in sport betting play only 3 to 5 games in a parlay but I don't agree with that as what is the point of getting such low odds compared to 25 leg parlay where odds would be much better. Nothing to be said except keep trying as luck may be on your side next time.

Do you mean which site am I using to to watch the actual games or just monitor the scores? There are some books that have the option to stream games right from their website.  For the most part, I just monitor the scores via ESPN.  However, I do know of a "third party" site that allows you to basically stream any live sports event.  So even the most obscure college basketball matchup, I can watch live, if a game gets extremely close.

Yes, this particular book doesn't offer a cashout option.  Going forward, I will place these large parlays at a book that does offer such an option.

He is just asking for the website that broadcast score of all the sports the OP is betting on which is not a trivial information that needs to be discreet.

With google search or even the sportsbook itself already have live score update on their betting slip to become updated on the outcome of your bet.

The big question would be: even if the bookie offered that option, would he have decided to act differently? When you've already managed to do the hard stuff, you usually find really hard to not go the last mile for the big prize.

Ok for everyone asking. I placed these bets at Sportsbetting AG. It is a sister site of BetOnline. They do not offer early cashout. I also play live roulette and sometimes bet sports at Stake, Shuffle and Razed. If I had placed this ticket with any of those books, I would have had a cashout option.  However, the question remains, whether or not I would have exercised any early cashout options, given how confident I was in my ticket winning!

With the college football regular season winding down, the window for big parlays is closing. In my experience, the month of November gives you the strongest setup because you get a full slate across college football, college basketball, NBA and the NFL with plenty of heavy favorites and the benefit of riding with traditional powerhouse teams. That volume helps you build long tickets. Obviously, hitting 25 legs stays extremely tough no matter how strong the board looks.

What you should do is drop another 25-leg parlay. You can show the whole thing and maybe I’ll just follow around 20 of them so I have a chance to win too. And don’t worry, I’ll give a tip.

To be honest it's more painful losing the last leg, such a near miss pains when you must've concluded that it's your day. OP that's what we face as gamblers on a regular, shows that your luck didn't shine that day. But man!, you're really good with your picks and you put in good money as a stake. You'll go again and again until your lucky day arrives, that's the pattern of a real gambler. Over $5k is is big sum, I can only imagine what it would've solved for you and maybe you've started planning around it before the game lost. Keep grinding and better luck next time.
