I once watched an interview where the investor told how to achieve real profits in Bitcoin investment, we really have to maintain our investments under any circumstances, even if it is an emergency, otherwise don't expect anything from Bitcoin.

I am aware that investing in Bitcoin requires patience and determination, if in an emergency we always look at existing investments, of course our goals will never be achieved, in my view investment takes time and is not as easy as turning over the palm of your hand.

But if it's life over death, then I will chose to sell my bitcoin to gain second chance of life, even if it means losing some future amount of profits from my investment. That is if you are currently jobless or has nobody to help you. But let's be honest, its easy to say stick with your long term investment so you can make valuable profits in the future, but with the current emergency, like you have no one to turned to, you will definitely forget your original plan on your investment, but will take risk and solve the current situation first before thinking on how to regain your investment.

I didn't borrow when I was on that situation, I've sold a part of my bitcoin holdings and that's why I can't forget that moment. This is the reason why it is always better to have emergency funds or cushion funds that is functioning as a reserve fund for you while making investment if there is any such urgency. It all depends on how much you hare holding in bitcoin to me, because if part of your holdings can foot up your bills then it would be that better to sell off some of holdings then use to take care of your emergency needs, maybe when you have come to your normal state you could do DCA back to cover up the little you have spent from your holdings.

You bought the bitcoin knowing that one day you might need to use it right? We have to stop looking at it like selling bitcoin is worse than death or something and start treating it as currency that might need to be used in extreme circumstances that require capital to get you out of whatever rut that you might be in. At the end of the day bitcoin is as good as gold. Now, would you sell your gold if your life depended on it? Probably yes. Would you sell your gold to keep some form of comfort like your home or your lifestyles? A lot of people probably would. But in order to keep whatever asset that is worth something from being sold its almost as if you have to fight to keep it or else you will sell it when a time of need comes.

I agree with you mate, truly the essence of investment is for future occurrence, which emergency is one of them, Bitcoin investment is not a do or die affairs, when you face life threatened situation and you have Bitcoin, don't not borrow to sort it out when you have savings in Bitcoin, it doesn't make sense. Bitcoin is still at an early stage we can still sell and buy at any rate, learn to do without loan, when you have Bitcoin. Have also sold out my Bitcoin for emergency issues and I didn't regret it. As of today have bought more Bitcoin and if any emergency occurs again I'll still sell it instead to borrow and be in debt.

Bitcoin is just money, and while money is important, there are much more important things in life. There are things that once lost we will never have the chance to find again, while lost money can be earned again and is not even too difficult to earn if we know how and make an effort. So we should not hesitate if we need to use it.

Those who are basically investors and have experience will never sell due to market volatility, but they will hold it patiently. I think holding is an asset for the future that will make our lives financially prosperous, so it is important to hold. But I think your argument is that if you do not have an emergency fund, you can borrow from your family or friends, which you will return later. And if you cannot do this and cannot arrange money, then you can sell some amount from your investment just to solve your problem. To begin with, I think it's quite unlikely that I'll find myself in that situation, as I have an emergency fund for that purpose. But even if I did have an emergency that exceeded what I have in the fund, I would have several options, and I think selling or borrowing against my bitcoin would be at the bottom of my list of priorities. I can borrow quite a lot of money in unsecured loans, as I have a very good banking profile and my bank is constantly trying to lend me money. Depending on the situation, I could choose to partially sell some assets or opt for the loan, I suppose the latter.

This is the reason why having an emergency funds is important. With emergency funds when emergency arises, you don't need to temper with your bitcoin holdings. So it is important to set up 2-3 months of our discretionary income to build up an emergency funds because without having an emergency funds it will not be possible to hold bitcoin for long term.
Borrowing money to solve problems isn't the best option if you don't have an emergency funds instead to borrow money to solve your problems the best thing to do is to used your bitcoin holdings.

First, in case of emergency, it's advisable to have a reserve fund that can be used for such expenses without having to touch long-term investments. I understand that in an emergency, the reserve funds may not be available, leaving no choice but to borrow or use assets allocated for investment.

Initially, I wanted to say that under no circumstances should one borrow money (from a bank or friends) and that it's better to sell cryptocurrencies at a loss to raise funds for an emergency. That's why there's something called an emergency fund, so you don't have to rely on the money in your primary assets. It's true that not everyone can manage this, but at least having an emergency fund should be a key factor before investing. For example my wife and I both work, I spend 50% of my income on investments and 50% on living expenses. Meanwhile, my wife income is allocated 100% to the emergency fund. So with this kind of management, I find it quite helpful and can focus on HODL Bitcoin.

I'm a realistic person, even though it's better to keep holding bitcoin, but there are times when it's really needed I'll sell it, especially when in an emergency and my money is not enough, I will make the decision to sell, not all of it, just how much I need it. Because why borrow from the bank when i have assets that can be liquidated quickly and without needing to go through a complicated and time-consuming credit approval process, and moreover it won't charge me with interest and other things. Regarding how much Bitcoin I sell, I can buy back the Bitcoin later when my financial condition is stable, while for now the focus is on dealing with this emergency first.

I have been hit with emergencies way back in the pandemic era. So I didn't borrow or anything, I sold mine because of the mounting hospital bills. It was a whole effort from my family though, it's not just me who shoulder the fee that time, but at least I have help my sister in my own way. Unfortunately, after she goes out of the hospital I thought that everything is ok. It was cancer though so there is a chance that it will come back and it did. So after a couple of months she died. But I never regret selling mine and just go and process and continue to stack and save sats.
