During my beginning stages I also had the same confusion as well, a clean sheet doesn't really need to end as 2:0 or ,3:0, if it ends up as 0:0 it is also considered to be successful because neither side conceded a goal. when you don't understand this you might think that the casino just gave out the win but that's not really case, the casinos or bookies don't make any mistakes about the games that are settled

I haven't really come across such option but this is quite similar with picking under 0.5 for the opposition which should have same odds with picking a clean sheet for a certain team. The likelihood of certain team scoring is higher than them conceding so I'm usually more on over than under.

Kasabus already explained this in a way I myself totally understand and I believe you the op already understand too, but even with this explanation, I think the name or title of this bet option explains itself well, it's just that sometimes, we the bettors are too anxious with things that we don't settle our brains down to think.

A clean sheet on that norm means a team did not concede any goal, the team themselves might score but when they their self did not allow their opponent to score in return, we normal will say that the team that scored but didn't concede any goal won the match on a clean sheet, this easily and totally explain why the casino settled your friend's bet as a win.

That is true. It goes to show that some bettors just place their bets without really knowing its meaning. Well, he's lucky though as he already expected a loss and yet, he got some winnings.
