We have no option but to choose to either or both of them. If I have a lot of money that I want to sit in stable coin and I don't have to use them as of now, I'll divide my wealth into two of them. That's just to be safe in keeping them in either. Both are liquid and have the most volume in the space so, if we really have to choose and keep them in stable coins, I wouldn't mind but these two are the best options so don't have to stick to any of them.
I will include DAI as one of the options, and I agree that we don't need to stick to just 1 stable coin, but I will take three for better security, holding USDT, USDC and DAI as additional stable coin alternatives. Of course with different allocation presentations depending on which one you trust more from these 3 stable coins, as I use 40% USDT, 40% USDC and 20% DAI, this is subjective and percentages can vary. A lot of FUD is scattered with each other, has its advantages and disadvantages, you must first understand what you will save before deciding on it, not just talking about popularity but the issuing company and also its support need to be checked again to ensure the level of security.

Many of us know that USDT has opacity and for this, already renowned financial rating agencies have identified it as risky, one of which is S&P (Standard & Poor). Now my point is that many of us hold stable currencies, whether for investment or as our own backup, what should we do in this case? In my view, USDT and USDC are among the top stable currencies, which one is more secure, USDC or USDT or any others options? I am seeking logical advice.
Among centralized stable coins, USDT and USDC seem comfortable to me. Although one is more known, popular and used than the other depending on the location in Asia, Europe and America. USDT is more popular and used in Asia, USDC is more popular and used in Europe. Since stable coins have been tested for a long time, it can be assumed that they are usable and reliable in terms of security as time has passed. However, if we talk about decentralized coins, DAI is the safest for me.

Stable coins as they're called are preferred by investors to use and maintain the value of their funds when they' ain't sure of the market behaviour to what direction the market would go. Hence they change their coins to stablecoin. Though stablecoins ain't that immutable, they still have their risk since they're centralized the company can fold along the process or have your funds frozen for certain unclear reasons. All am saying is this stablecoins USDT and USDC can do you dirty despite being some of the top secured stablecoins.

That's also a good one, DAI is said to be decentralized and if others are looking for another option it can be one of the three. And as we're saying, there is no need to stick to one as there's no rule for obtaining only stable coin and have to stay to only one. Everything from it is totally fine and good for as long as we are in need of it and you're converting your assets into it. It is true that each of them have advantages and disadvantages and not a single of them is perfect, so you're free to choose whichever you think is the best one based on what you know about them.

I'm sure there are other options, including USDT and USDC. Liquidity for other options will be limited, so I don't even know about many. I split my holdings between USDT and USDC. Choosing just one doesn't feel right. I don't believe any stablecoin is completely reliable. So, for me, they're the same. There's some debate about transparency for USDT, it doesn't matter to me. I just split it in half and don't think much about it.

There is another conception of DAI stablecoin which is not widely used but a model that worth interesting. I think it's the only model of a stable decentralized cryptocurrency. Most of users if not saying the great majority of crypto users aren't aware of this kind of concepts and think sticked with Usd foat backed cryptocurrencies.

At the moment, I still prefer USDT, not because I like it ,and I try to have it less and less, try to get rid of it quickly but at the end of the day if I have to have a stablecoin then I still prefer the stablecoin that everyone uses and for a reason it's higher ranked than all other stablecoins.
USDC is growing though as per what I have been observing in exchange volume and in casinos' reward success stories, and I think with the power of legality on their side instead of some Bahama company style, USDC will takeover USDT in the future and I will start to use that instead.

It's a decentralized stable coin and many are not yet aware of it. So, there goes the three if someone is still looking for one. I think it's true that many are not going to chose this type of stablecoin if they haven't heard of it yet and if they are comfortable with the usage of these existing ones. To be honest, many don't look at the technical side of it and what is being used by the many, that's what they use.

There is nothing like secured around this stable coins because they are centralised, usdt has withstand the test of time and they don't fail, most of the time it is the one that gets the highest FUD among other stable coins.
I believe I will go for USDT if I don't have problem with the ability bro lock users fund at any time and also the fact that they are centralised.
The fact that USDT has been the first stable coin, which uses the first mover advantage to dominate the market and have even built trust amongst many traders too as well. I don't see any problems that can be caused by USDT or similar thing but I'm pretty sure USDC and any other stable coin can surpassed the USDT strength already created. If you want privacy DAI have always been the best stable coin but it is a shame that it's not as popular and well used as USDT, with 58m volume and 4B marketcap, this is too low for what this stable coin has to offer, but it seems the argument will always stays the same, many people don't care about privacy coins anyway.
People that actually care about privacy are few because scammers and other illegal crypto users are actually using it for business.

USDC is MiCA compliant, USDT is getting a lot of fud but still the most used stablecoin regardless but I can see USDC slowly eating up USDT's market share.
The other centralized altcoin that I use is USDG because it's tightly regulated and audited every month and is released by kraken and paxos. USDe is good but not worth holding for too long because there's higher risk of depegging. Overall my majority of stablecoin allocated to USDC, DAI, USDT and then USDT. I like to diversify like that.

Try to avoid centralized stablecoin if you can like using DAI because it's decentralized and have no blacklist function in their contract. It's praised by on-chain people for a reason. If i were to choose USDT or USDC I will choose USDC, it's accepted by Visa and that means even big company like VISA trust it.

DAI might be partially decentralized but definitely not having all the decentralized properties like bitcoins does have. As far as I am concerned, DAI got voting functionality and they themselves claiming 'decentralized'. In my opinion, at least minable coins can be remarked as decentralized because no centre authority issuing the initial supply. Blacklist/freeze/reversing is other development from altcoin industry but not having one of them warrant about decentralization, really annoying in my view. If i were to choose USDT or USDC I will choose USDC, it's accepted by Visa and that means even big company like VISA trust it.
It is a news to me that VISA accepts USDC. In recent times, Stakes and few other casinos were switching from USDT to USDC for compliance with government norms. So, I have idea about USDC but I am still making use of USDT as well.

In my view, USDT and USDC are among the top stable currencies, which one is more secure, USDC or USDT or any others options? I am seeking logical advice.
Neither is secure. Especially when they're not government-insured or have investor protections of any kind. When you invest in a stablecoin, you are at the expense of losing it all in the future. The issuing company can either go bankrupt, become a victim of hacks, or simply shut down its operations due to a government crackdown. Centralized stablecoins, although regulatory-compliant, are not immune from such risks. The situation is even worse with decentralized stablecoins. You'd be best selling your crypto to Fiat and leave it on the bank for safekeeping. Why do you think "Cash is King"? Stablecoins only exist to provide a means for traders to help protect themselves against market volatility without the need to convert to Fiat (cash). They're not meant to be hoarded for the long-term. Ultimately, you decide what to do with your money. Just avoid investing more than what you can't afford to lose, and there should be nothing to worry about.

The other alternative is USDS.
But, if you think USDT or USDC is not safe, I would say other stablecoins are worse than them, so you're actually taking more risk of you buy other stable coins that I didn't mention.
I have hold USDC so far and there was no problem with that, even though I didn't hold USDT, but I see so far is fine.

USDS have too low volume for daily trading and recently delisted from AAVE for collateral use. A bitget 24h volume merely $3.5k I have suspicion that people don't really use this stablecoin often although the big market cap. Because explain how is that even possible?

The purpose of stable coin is to provide the liquidity and help to secure the capital value from the volatility. But if you are going to keep the stable coin for long term then it is better to convert it into fiat that may cost few bucks more in fee while offers the trustability from the government, if it goes down the country itself goes down so you don't have much to lose.

I would rather prefer USDC over USDT because of the transparency issues USDT has had in the past. USDC on other hand has regular audits which kinda increases the transparency. We still have the option to hold DAI which is decentralized and a good option to hold for longer term. So either you can split between USDC or select either of them as an option.

USDC is more reliable than USDT, actually USDC is getting more support within the European market while USDT is getting excluded because of their opacity. USDT is only afloat as one of the top tokens in the market because it continues to be widely affected among people in third world countries. If I had to keep an important amount of money in stablecoins, then I would go for USDC or some decentralized currency, reminiscent to what DAI used to be back when it was launched. Anyways, many people argue Tether is supposed to be avoided at all cost, and I would agree with if the holding was in the long term.

I would recommend USDC. It is safer. USDC is thought to be a safer option when compared to USDT. This is because it is issued by a US-regulated firm, named Circle, which is obligated to follow strict financial and compliance guidelines. Its reserves are held mainly by cash and short US Treasury bills which are the least risky financial assets and their status is also regularly disclosed along with independent third-party attestations making it a more transparent asset. Unlike USDT, USDC also has a clearer right of redemption under US law, making it less uncertain when market conditions are stressed. This makes USDC a safer stablecoin option according to many analysts, owing to its strict regulations and transparency also and institutional-level compliance.
