Also can the sellers accept Paypal? (I think I read somewhere the answer is No)
Even if Paypal suddenly allows the transactions, you are still screwed if the buyer charges back.

So how do you accept payment?

Next time you try and sell BTC for Paypal, sell it in the form of a paper wallet that will only be sent to a verified address linked to the eBay / Paypal account.  That way they can't then turn around and say, "hey, I didn't buy this".

They added this category in February, lasted for about two weeks then they removed it and all Bitcoin listings in other categories.
Perhaps they changed their mind because it's now classified as property.

Looks like they have added it yesterday.

Re-added it in yesterday. It was there for a while in February, even bought some Doges there.

yea paypal should add a wallet address to the invoice..
then the sender when he send the bitcoin he can add the paypal transaction number to the blockchain in a notice.. that way we can trade easily..

They can say that you didn't deliver what you sent, just as with any eBay sale.
Even if you send registered post, they can say that you sent them an empty envelope.

a) Purchaser regisiter a bitcoin address with eBay.
b) Seller adds eBay item number to payment.
c) eBay can then watch for transactions to the purchaser's address, and see that one for the correct item and amount is made.

(Alternatively, eBay provide the seller a unique bitcoin address, the seller sends to that, and eBay sends onwards to the purchaser.)

That's actually genius. They can already tell through paypal if the other end of the deal was met, so being able to tell if the crypto side was paid would make the whole thing seamless. Only problem (for them) is changing paypal to disallow reversals in this case.

Paypal and EBay corporate board and officers, are as stupid as stupid can be.

Oh wowz, its so damn hard to run a frikking auction site and do electronic payments.  NOT.  Stop fellating yourselves you overpaid douchebags.  And yes I have had Paypal used to steal BTC from me due to their stupidity-encouraging ways/users who get their accounts rooted for months then somehow are not responsible?  Fuck paypal to hell in a hurry.

And EBay is fine, or at least it was fine 15 years ago when the Internet was useable, simple, and not populated by this crowd of useless tards who want to control the exchanges of Earth.  Screw all control corporations like EBay who deign to tell us how we may do business.  Again, EBay, go to hell if you don't serve the public.

The difference is that when you sell a physical item with proof of posting, Ebay/PayPal will actually investigate a dispute and may find in seller's favour.

When you sell intangible goods or a service they always rule in buyer's favour.

I agree with other posters who say that PayPal/Ebay would need to alter their terms to allow sellers to prove they've delivered btc, before it would make sense to start selling btc on Ebay.

The main problem here is the irreversibility of the crypto transaction, which renders it unusable in practice. (To buy goods, I mean)

However, I would <3 to see paypal falling, too much commisions for a shitty and biased service
