Senior Citizen are turning to become children as they grow more older in age, we cant compare them to the way we behave as youths, they needed to be followed gradually with one step at time, by now, we should not think on enforcing anything on them, because if we cant afford to give them something, then we shouldn't introduce to them what will take money away from their hands, except for the ones among them that are still vibrant and active to do all this, but their chances or losing may be more higher except they are only investing to hold for a longer period.

With the rate of scam going on in the country it will be difficult to see any elderly person going into Bitcoin or crypto in general. Because due to scam which has always been associated with crypto currency coupled with wrong information that has been going on in the country alot of people has seen crypto currency as scam. So the mere mentioning of Bitcoin to an elder will raise some concerns to the ordinary Nigerian elders. Bitcoin is a future asset and so we should not always think about the elders to use Bitcoin with you this is because the technology and even Idea about Bitcoin is strange to these elders.

Most of them will never accept because how this new generation is now they see every young guys as an internet fraudster because some are doing it they will think that that is your strategy use in scamming people. Those of them that are educated who has heard about BTC and also has money that can easily be convinced to invest into a store value asset as bitcoin. On the other hand most of them has experience scam in their past life they might have been scammed through an online investment they will think that you want to introduce them to another online scam investment.

Here in Nigeria many of old people are not interested in Bitcoin investment, from the age of 50 upward finds it very difficult to trust and invest in Bitcoin and if you trying to convince them to invest in Bitcoin they will never accept. The major reason why it is so is because of ponzi scheme experience they had before, there are a lot of ponzi scheme that has scammed a lot of Nigerian people and this age I mentioned upward were really affected in this Ponzi schemes scam and that has made them see any investment that involves online transactions as fake, according to some of them they usually say any investment or business they can't see physically is a scam . I really don't blame them because some of them really lost so much to ponzi scheme. You should understand this set of people have always live in the time that most of them dont even have phone and even when android phone came out it is so difficult for them to operate an android phone. Most of the people in this age can even operate a computer device , and every young person can relate how we help our parents out in setting up their phone device and whatever that seems difficult for them. I will say most of them are use to the old things and they are comfortable with it, they can manage their life with fiat and they see it as not a problem to them because most of them have already achieve much in life.

Environment is another factor that can even influence some people not to accept innovation, when you are surrounded with people who only narrow their understanding within their environment without wanting to to upgrade they can struggle to accept civilization even the one that will come knocking at their door, what am saying is that is not only old people that proves very hard to be convinced about Bitcoin but it also includes most young people with low mentality.

[/quote I can still remember how skeptical my dad was when I sent him my opay number and it was my phone number still. According to him if the bank doesn't have a physical location where he can go and explain, he can't put his money there. Long story short, he uses Opay like on a daily basis now. He has told me of many Ponzi scams he almost entered but didn't and that was his logic behind avoiding Opay but as things go serious during the Naira issue, only about Opay and Palmpay were working and he was somewhat forced to adapt and he likes it, like I said he now uses it daily. My point with all this, is that Bitcoin in Nigeria to some of our older ones will taken a natural long time before it becomes the usual day to day transaction method, maybe another monetary issue will happen and it will force everyone to adapt to online currencies, maybe. Probably curiousity will just take them there, whatever it will be, Im just certain it will take time.

This generation has never experienced the kind scamming activities that the older people have seen in their lifetimes. You think it is easy to convince those who were happy to live their lives without internet to believe in anything online stuff. We have many people who can never believe that, especially in our country, where the youths of nowadays do not want to work, but only want to take from hardworking people to feed themselves. So, if you have been scammed several times before, would you believe in any online investment again? I don’t think so, which is why I don’t stress myself to convince people that I think will never believe in Bitcoin even if you show them the profit you made that year. Many people have washed their hands comot for online investment because of Ponzi schemes which have ruined everything.

Well, a lot of odl people think they know a lot because they have had experiences with a lot of things probably from different investments they got involved in. Only a few of them see the opportunity that bitcoin comes with and they invest in. personally I don't think it is advisable to persuade or convince any old person to invest in bitcoin, allow them to develop the interest to start up their investment

This situation of convincing the elderly to invest in Bitcoin in a country like Nigeria is really a situation of serious concern because our elderly ones of 50 and above have really been through a lot and has experienced life in a dimension that some of us of this younger generation might not relate. For someone that has been able to convince his dad to invest in a scheme that ended up being a scamming website and led to him being frauded of some reasonable funds how do you convince him again to believe in Bitcoin and want to invest. For such a person it's difficult to make him want to change his mind about anything that has to do with online. So the problem is that the bad eggs in the online space has polluted the system and made it difficult for people to be able to trust the system.

Firstly, I find this topic disturbing as I see no reason why you would want to convince someone to invest in Bitcoin, as if you want to win a medal for doing so. Bitcoin investments is not something we go around convincing people to invest as it is a game of interest and not by conviction. So starting up a topic with such title is not really too good if you ask me. And if I may ask, why do you want to convince them to get involved in Bitcoin? We know Bitcoin is promising in the future is you buy and Hodl, but to go around trying to convince people to come be part of the investment ideology is a total NO for me. Bitcoin over the years have proven it's quality and value, and at such has spoken for itself loud enough for interested person(s) to seek for it on its own not we doing the campaign of conviction. Don't also forget that bitcoin is highly volatile and at such risky, so you have to be careful how you speak about bitcoin so you don't someone come on board, thinking it's all gain through out, and when the down time in price comes, they begin to see you as a fraudster I stand to be corrected about the saying: that what an old Man sees why seated that even if a child climbed the tallest iroko, he may not understand, is one factor that may affect older people in this country looking at the level of responsibility before them, family upkeep, school fees, Owning a home, starting their own business, clothing their children, medical bills, buying a car etc. these responsibilities that wouldn't allow these older people to have an open mind to listen, learn and study Bitcoin which may enable them see the opportunities that lies on investing BTC hence i still feel there's need to teach them the potential of BTC and also specifying the duration involves so they wouldn't feel is another ponzi scheme.

And the elderly can be difficult to convince, most of them have a different time with us, and they did not really pay attention to things like bitcoin, and it would have benefited the family because they would have gotten it at a lower price, and would have made a fortune from it and they all took this information for granted and they would have become whales now because of the amount they would have accumulated but it was all taking for granted and the whole thing exploded with the younger generation and am sure that they are still people who would have believed in bitcoin, and information is one of the factors that people have built wealth upon, and some of them will want to take advantage of it because the issue now is that people are still trying to accept but with time they will know its worth.

One thing you must understand is that it requires someone with the vision to actually understand how the network works, and only when you understand can you really invest in Bitcoin, and most times having this sort of conviction goes beyond just telling people or trying to convince them to invest in Bitcoin, sometimes even when you show people proof or evidence of how profitable Bitcoin investment is, they still wouldn’t have the interest to invest, not because they’re not convinced but because they don’t really understand how how the technology works.

I really don't blame them because some of them really lost so much to ponzi scheme. The major reason for this is their past experience with Ponzi schemes. Many Nigerians were scammed through various Ponzi schemes, and people within this age group were among the most affected. As a result, they now see any investment that involves online transactions as fake. According to them, any investment or business they cannot physically see is a scam.

Yes, in the present time, we, the younger generation, can easily understand about Bitcoin and become interested in Bitcoin for investment. But an old person of 50 years who has been using his own money from the past is not willing to believe in digital currency that much. Especially those who are not educated are very difficult to convince, they are not willing to invest in Bitcoin, although those who are educated are interested in investing in Bitcoin after convincing them several times. However, there are some people who have given their money to fraud in the past, due to which they are now afraid to trust Bitcoin. However, the old people who are there are not very interested in keeping up with the modern era. But we know that the current generation and the future generations who will come will definitely have a lot of faith in Bitcoin and they will invest in Bitcoin.
Simple! You have just said it clearly out of your mind. Smiles. We the younger generation grew up with the internet and invention of most of the digital tools today happened during our era, so understanding bitcoin that is a new digital platform that got invented in the last two decades come more natural for our understanding and we are also more open to learning, experimenting and investing in the digital space. But for our older ones especially those in their quinquagenarian and above it will definitely come differently to them. They have gotten so used to the physical money for the better part of their lives so it will be difficult for them to trust a digital currency as easily as someone of our generation will. Let's assume you take 16 years from their current age, for someone who is 50 today, they must have spent over 34 years of their life using the fiat and then maybe before the knowledge gets circulated amongst our people here, it is not up to like last 10 years when most of them are already @ 40. How can you easily convince that person to start using the technology.

The reality of ponzi in Nigeria has been so loud that even some people younger than 50 years that you just mentioned has refused to engage in any online venture. But then awakening was what it took so many people to buy into the idea of online banking like opay, moniepoint, palmpay etc but this awareness didn't get to the level of investing in Bitcoin. However, investment into Bitcoin is not really a matter of age in as much as age also influence. I think awareness has a great role to play in terms of investing in Bitcoin. Because an aged persons of say 50+ who's informed about the opportunity housed in Bitcoin would just do it irrespective of age. The fact people younger than the aforementioned age who are not aware or are also skeptical about Bitcoin investment are there. Painfully, some people will consider you a scammer if they know you are based on Bitcoin investment because of their views and bias about Bitcoin and other onlines money opportunity. Giving out the awareness about Bitcoin investment is a good deal for others and this continues in there quest for it, trying so hard to convince any is not looking like a good idea.
