His main reason might not just be to hide from his family, but for his own personal safety, which the lottery companies don't really give a fuck about. Anyone who wins big should try to hide themselves if possible, because the company will always broadcast you online, which will endanger you because of having that kind of money, both family members are threats, including outsiders who will see the image online.

I can see where he's coming from TBH. I may even do the same if I ever win such a huge amount. I mean, there is a reason why I try to hide my salary from peeps. In the past, I had some folks be so entitled which was annoying AF.

I don't think there's anything wrong, and I'm pretty sure that's not the only reason, maybe because his family is against gambling or he's not really close to his family or maybe he wants to hide the win so he can live his life as usual without the fear of people he knows wanting to take advantage of the big money, we all know when someone wins the jackpot there will be people approaching with smiles. I will do the same, not only because of the family, but also because, as a guy living in a third-world country, I could be targeted by criminal elements. There is a popular saying in our country: if you have no money, you don't have any relatives, but if you hit a lottery jackpot, you will have instant relatives knocking at your door.
I guess we have the same reason as that guy: he doesn't want to be bothered and wants to surprise our family. We both prefer peace of mind.

I have come across such in the past before but I’m not sure if it was a lottery win. The man came with a mask to take his money and when interviewed why he did that, he said he wanted ti maintain privacy and for his own safety, he needs to put the mask on and this made many loved him more for his brave idea. This should be a copy cat of that.

He’s obviously not hiding from his family. He’s just using that as decoy to take the attention of people away from that. Even as your family may be dangerous, it is better to let them know than to allow an outsider to actually know you’ve won such an huge amount of money.

I will wear a costume and even if it warrants that I talk, if I have a voice changer device to use, I’ll be happy i use that to collect my lottery win. The world is full of evil people and you can’t say who likes or hates you, so it’s better to remain anonymous throughout the process.

I think he hid his identity because of the public. I'm not surprised that he did that, because the world we live in is wicked. He can get kidnapped after winning the lottery. This is the case of bitcoin holders, too. Once you own a huge amount or maybe a fortune, dont disclose it to anyone. Keep it to yourself. The world is too risky for everyone to know how much you own, to avoid being a victim.

Not all families are the same; there are some families that will have no sympathy for you; they will offload all their financial burden to you, and maybe because you find it difficult to refuse, you end up spending the money you just won trying to solve problems of the family first. Unfortunately, family problems never ends. So to avoid being taken advantage of by family, if that is the kind of family the subject has, then I understand wearing the mask.

The winner, if he is exposed and his identity made public, will be targeted on social media, and many people will ask him to be a donor, and criminals will mark him and target him.

That is very true, because for sure people not only his family but others as well that will surely create burden when it comes to money matters. It is for his safety and security. So for me, it is just normal that he did such move. But how he did it, was just funny because of his costume. I would say, it is not the first time someone used a funny mask to hide identity claiming a multi-million dollar lottery winnings. It goes to show that people are really not dependable when it comes to winnings. Also, do take note that he is also not safe from potential kidnap-for-ransom gangs because there are so many people who are desperate these days. So hiding your identity for me is a must these days. Whether you want to hide from your family or friends but from illegal individuals out there, just waiting for their next victim.

Hide from the family? Well, he must've a big family and doesn't want his cousins and uncles to know about winning the lottery. That way, he could maximize the usage of the money for his main family.

But I think this image is obviously a meme since you're not obligated to take pictures if you win the lottery, and your presence wouldn't even be necessary; a lawyer could pick up the check for you. When he was betting and hoping to win and was losing instead, where was the family then to console him and gives him some encouragement to continue instead of quiting. I'm very sure the family would have told him to get a life and leave gambling alone but when he won all of sudden the family have to comes to the picture. If they don't support him, he doesn't need them when it's time to receive his pay, whatever he does is justified.

Although, the story might not be the way you potrared the narrative. Some parents don't want to be online or it could be as a result of privacy. I don’t know if you’ve ever experienced this, but there’s a kind of  “entitlement” that runs in some kind of family, they might just see if on the news or what ever platforms they get their information from and all of a sudden they’ll start to think that since that person has made X amount of money from lottery then automatically he needs to take care of the family or the younger ones before you start to leave your life.

I think it was a very smart move from him, although he didn’t explicitly mention it but I think that mask might also help protect him from harms way because in my country exposing people who just won a huge amount would put them in danger aside from the fact that they’ll become the new “family bank” if you don’t help them because they know that you have some money from your lottery.

Humans are wicked and greedy and so I’ll always give him a thumbs up whenever j read this news because he was really really smart, he knew the people he was surrounding and the kind of move they’ll make if it’s made known to them that you’re a winner.

Let me share, people know that I am into crypto, and with BTC's sharp rise recently people think that I am rich now and I see a change in their behavior towards me while from my side I stopped respecting this people because these kind of people disgust me who change their attitude on how much money they think one has.

The management would disagree, they need the pictures for promotional purposes to lure more players into their net for extra revenues. The player in question was into taking precautions to avoid harm and theft from bad and envious people, which you can't tell who or where they're, whether external, or right inside his house.

Anyway, it was the choice of the winner to show their real faces or have this like a clown. They have given such an option for their security reasons and to keep themselves hidden from the crowd. And I believe that is good because now the world is surrounded by people who have devilish plans. At least doing this saves him from them.
