Am glad that with the awareness and constant reminder in the form of this post and others that has grazed this great forum, we are more enlightened than ever on some of the theatrics used by scammers and hackers to have an advantage over the ignorant users.
This makes everyone who uses both a DEX and CEX to be extra cautious and when it comes to wallet safety and preservation of HODLings such kinds of post helps one stay aware and proactive in applying risk management, knowing how to apply hot and cold wallet and safety protocols to maximize efficiency and beneficial returns.

It's a new day and I am sitting on my chair doing nothing than planning on how to find my next victim, nothing good is coming up yet and all of a sudden, a crypto exchange was breached.

To the likes of me this is a big opportunity, why wait around? I have my evil tool that gathered thousands of email address all I have to do is send bulk mail to all of them saying our exchange just got hacked and to remain on the safer side you should click on this link or maybe tell them to start submitting their recovery seed, I just need two people out of thousands to fall for it and I am in money.
This part sounds like you are a criminal who are looking for potential victims around the Internet and cryptocurrency space. Generally, your topic is hard to understand your implied messages by mixture of criminal, victim and advice to readers.

Hackers and scammers are different breeds, some are opportunists, they don't hack or do the hard works, they just wait for the right time, when something happened to a crypto wallet company or crypto exchange it is always a wonderful opportunity for them to get the best of people.
Hackers and scammers are the same, they are greedy, and want to get money from the others by stealing immorally. It's only difference between hackers and scammers in their methods of setting up things for stealing money of the others.

When something happens to the exchange or platforms that you are using, make sure you don't overreact, especially when you have some money on them, few months ago when Coinbase had a breach I got a mail from Coinbase but fake, saying I should click on a link, and as someone who has an account on Coinbase I felt how easier it would have been to fell for such if I am new to crypto, it looked so genuine since the incident was still very fresh.
Phishing attacks is one of many scam methods and we all can learn about most popular scam methods for being safer in this dangerous space against scammers and hackers.

Collection of comprehensive guides on identify and avoid scam projects.

Big exchanges aren’t getting hacked so regularly. Scammers don’t just wait for when there is a big hacking event. They could send tens of thousands of phishing emails per day and if only a handful of people end up falling for their scam, it can still represent a significant amount of money they are able to steal. Their success rate might be higher after a notable theft or data breach, but they won’t pass up the opportunity to also scam people during any other regular day.

Yeah, I think he's trying to show the pov of a hacker/scammer with those sentences. I saw a similar writing style on other communities, too, though some people do miss the nature behind it and thought the poster was trying to scam/hack someone, depending on their post. It's even harder to do it if you're doing it in your second language.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to spread awareness towards the increase of scam attacks, nothing's wrong with that.

This reminds me of a story I read some times ago. I don't know if it's real or a fiction but it really passed a strong message on how people leverage on opportunities. It was a bank robbery where the armed robbers cart away with huge amount of money but unfortunately, these armed robbers did not make half profit of what the bank manager and his colleagues made from that incident. Mind you, the manager did not risk their lives while these armed robbers risk their lives to make this robbery happened. All the managers did was to report a figure more than what the robbers actually stole from the bank. The managers turn this unfortunate situation to their own advantage and this how scammers wait for opportunities to strike.

It is a great reminder op.Many have fallen for this kind of tactic and many newbies are out there who don’t really know about this. Scammers always try to take advantage when there is a problem on an exchange so that they can twist the news and scam people.there was one certain time I also received an email from a scammer claiming to be from KuCoin. Once I saw the message, I tried to ask one of my friends whether he received the same message or not, but he responded no and told me that most of those kinds of messages usually come from scammers. I was new to crypto back then. If it wasn’t for my friend telling me that they might be scammers, I would have been scammed.

Of course. This is simply a matter of being careful—how closely you examine email offers from anyone who sends you a message. It doesn’t matter if they claim to be the world’s largest marketplace or send you an offer with a huge reward. If the address is fake, it should be deleted. But there is something even better than that: if you find a fake address impersonating a real exchange, you can report it. Usually, they may reward you, or at least it will greatly help the legitimate exchange.

... all I have to do is send bulk mail to all of them saying our exchange just got hacked and to remain on the safer side you should click on this link or maybe tell them to start submitting their recovery seed...
That's why it can't be me! I've been on Cexs for almost a decade now and I've yet to click on any link in my email. I don't even know if exchanges do send links. I don't even participate in those bonuses and freebies exchanges advertise, let alone click on links. Even when Bybit got hacked, I acted like nothing was wrong. I never panicked. You know how you act when there's a robbery at a bank you've your money in? Yeah, that's right. You act like it's none of your business because you will get your money back. It's insured. That was how I acted. Even when there was that rumour that Binance got hacked a few years ago, I was not perturbed at all.

The recovery phrase part is even laughable. Anyone who falls for that is a newbie.
