I think you're missing things up. Even the scriptures recognizes the laws of the land. I'm not sure of how the laws of the land  is restricting anyone from doing anything. Without laws in place, people would have been far more stupid than they're in this current era_{(pardon my tough words)}. Just imagine a business/organization that doesn't have rules guiding it, then going late wouldn't be a problem for all the workers even though it's not a good business ethics.

So, I'm of the opinion that the laws of the land does not have anything to do with anyone fulfilling its potentials. You can literally become whatever you choose to, but make sure it's not a bad one because there are laws that certainly keeps bad decisions in check as well.

Don't be too biblical because there are still laws in the bible which God made and mankind violated them. The first law was about the forbidden fruits but man disobeyed God and a penalty was attached which was to leave the beautiful garden of Eden and other punishment that followed afterwards. The ten commandment is also another law because it was given by God for man to obey.

Coming to the society, even with laws you can see how cruel and wicked humans are, not to talk more of a society without laws you will see that there would be many atrocities and war would have been happening all the time. Without laws, someone who is stronger than you can kill you and go free without punishment. Without laws many things would have gone wrong.

Everything about life have always been governed by laws, from physics to chemistry and even nature itself has law that governs it like the law of gravity. A place where there is no law will result in chaos, just imagine when the law of gravity fails, that will be the end as everything will collapse. I think law is very important for the existence of humanity and it does not limit the potential of humanity,  because if there is no law guiding humanity, the world will be in serious chaos. Before the development of politics and government humans live by survival of the fittest, which means the strong can kill the weak and take over his lands and even family. Law and covenant actually sets restrictions to human doings, but the points is to also understand how come about law and convenant together with some questions.
Is it that human hates freedom? No. But from day to day doings of humanity, one can say that people hates freedom. How? Even with this restrictions/lead people are not restricting there attitude to life as regards dealing with another human and even nature.
Exactly, God created man to be free but human choose not to be free. Imagine a lawless society? Even with laws you can figure out real barbarians who loves freedom for themselves but loves caging others.

Laws never limited the potential of humanity, they only reduced the extent to which man can go to any length to fulfill his desires and thoughts. Man has never been lawless from time immemorial. What we only have now is a kind of modern age laws which is pure products of civilization too. Back in the early days when God created man, he set them to watch over all the creatures of the universe and enjoy of their products. God himself set a limit to what they can enjoy by marking one tree as our of bound and instructed man not to eat of it: That's Law! Disobedience to every law comes with consequences and that was how many lost favour in the sight of god and was thrown out of the garden of Eden.

If humans are allowed to behave however they want, this life will be unliveable and humans will become animals; living on Survival of the fittest kind of society. If there's no law and other, then there won't be anything called Sin. Law brings since and both God and man has their own laws of which the man made laws are also drawn from the god's law (Ten commandments).

We should never wish there was no law. Back in the days of Mortal combats during the old Greek and Egyptian society when laws were still forming, humans are executed mercilessly and death penalties were rampant. Nowadays, the laws keep getting amended because we're humans and can't be living like animals. Most countries today have replaced death sentence with Life imprisonment which is evidence that laws are meant to suit every society under its jurisdiction.

Law means government. Think about what your life would be like if you lived in a 'country' that didn't have a government and laws. Everybody would have to be armed to the teeth, with all kinds of guns and armament. You and your spouse would have to be fully armed, and find like-minded friends. Why? Because the criminals would band together to rape and steal from you.

You might be taxed by your government. But the taxation - money or otherwise - provides forms of peace and security you wouldn't have if there wasn't any government.

It will be total chaos if there are no laws to govern us; there were laws in ancient times and, until now, laws given by God to His people, because men cannot govern themselves because of the evil in their hearts.

If there are no laws, then strong people can just take everything from weak people; the laws are meant to make things equal for all, so humanity can live in peace.
Look at those criminals, they are in jail because they break the laws, because they harm and steal from other people, if there are no laws then we will just encourage criminals to commit crimes.

Even the same God who created man said that the heart of man is desperately evil, maybe not every man, but there’ll always be people who are greedy, selfish, power drunk and what have you, and without any laws to put these folks in a leash, then the innocent ones would definitely suffer. God did not create man without laws, there are laws and consequences for breaking them, according to Christian religious teachings we are suffering in the world today because our first parents disobeyed a law that they were given in the garden of Eden. If God, our creator can have laws for us we should expect man made laws to also govern us but I agree that some man made laws are bad.

Any society that does not have law and order will always have chaos, human beings by our nature wants to dominate and take undue advantage of our fellow humans. If there are no laws the strong will oppress the weak and nothing will happen, imagine if somebody wakes up and suddenly decides that he doesn't like the face of another person, he might kill the person so he won't have to see the face ever again. But if everybody knows that the law is against killing an innocent person and they know the consequences of disobeying it they will think more than twice before commiting murder. Fact. A country where there is no law evil will become the plan of every knowing that there is no one to hold you accountable for the evil doing, the law helps to check mate the deeds of people if you have noticed the things that are on going in the society today you could imagine what will become of the world if there is no law guiding each state or country. Laws actually shaped man to think rationally, the society would have been in a mess if not for the laws governing the society. Laws does not stop you from living your full potentials . Law should never be considered as a key factor responsible for the limitations of citizens ways of achieving goals, no nation or even home can appear stronger without the presence of law as law helps in the controlling of citizens ways of life. Okay from how I see it, this is serious issues about freedom and  how Life is meant to be or supposed to be because giving too many rules can limit creativity and will hold alot of people back from not achieving their goals at the same time if there isn't any rules those that are well doing or stronger will always oppress the weak ones with all this, it can make alot of people not to grow.

Removing of laws completely isn't the solution rather making sure that the laws or rules are fair and can allow people to express themselves freely. So when there is balance between freedom and order then I think humanity will be in a better place

God created man to be a free moral agent and only gave him a law at the start of life. with just a single law, man failed in keeping to it which led to punishment and an addition of different other laws. before man even thought about creating what is now seen as government, laws from the creator existed and with a rising population and the need to regulating the excesses of man, it becomes completely necessary to allow for laws which has to a large extent helped the society.

just imagine that we are leaving in a world without laws and that everyone can do what pleases them and get away with it without facing certain consequences? mortality rate will firstly increase so much and the world will literally become inhabited by men.

Laws are necessary to live in an organized and orderly society, but not the kind laws we have these days in most countries, which aim to favour a minority, while prejudicing majority. I agree with you when you say such laws don't proportionate we develop our full potentials, because we live mainly to sustain the system. And by system I mean the minority who is on the top of the pyramid. In order for those people to live luxurious lives, we have to give up on the development of our potentials.

However, bloodthirsty revolutions were already tried and even wicked ideologies were already developed promising to solve this issue, but in the end, things only got worst... So it's a delicate matter. It's a matter we don't have control over. Therefore, I believe the right thing to do is to try developing our potentials not at the fullest, but taking the obstacles, limits and challenges in consideration. The Creator created us and at the beginning of creation we used to roam freely in groups and hunt animals and birds and we continued our daily lives. But as a result of the progress of civilization, humans created laws and imposed restrictions on humans by applying those laws. Yes, if there were no laws, we would have roamed freely as before and we would never have restricted ourselves.
However, we would not have been able to control the fights, vandalism, robbery, etc. that are happening among humans. That is, because human beings have created laws, we have been able to control our bad behavior. If there were no laws, we would have degraded so much that we would never have been able to control ourselves.
