I often find it very difficult to recognize the scam. There are many articles about NB Hash on (supposedly) trustworthy sites, such as the Berliner Morgenpost, Yahoo finance, and several others. Is it really so far-fetched to then invest something there?

Yes, such articles makes things more tricky, especially for people with less knowledge. People think that if such well known websites write articles about company, it can't be scam. But unfortunately, that's just paid press release. And many well known websites publish such press releases without checking anything, for them it's most important to take money for publishing it.
Like said above, I wouldn't decide to invest after reading article on Yahoo. I'd rather rely on revies from real people.
