How can I download forum PM's?

Having full control of your personal messages is a good practice, it saves one from future policy changes - imagine waking up to an empty PM due to policy changes 

Theymos has been doing a pretty good job keeping data on the forum intact so far. But it ain't bad idea to have backup plan for something important. Hopefully I'll be here long enough to have so much PM's I'll be bothered if I lost them all suddenly. I would suggest something like LoyceV archive but it won't be feasible because of privacy issues.

Do we now have the "view all" button in the PM section? Never seen it..

Probably you don't have that much PM or I'm quoting wrongly via my reference to the view all button on normal boards we post.

I have ~1,400 pages of PMs in my inbox. I’ve learned to cope with the PM times. I have no desire to store them on my own.
I used to always delete PMs as I received them or I’m sure I’d have over 2,000 pages. Somewhere around 2016 I lost control.
It isn’t like the All button, but just an invisible delay in loading and sometimes it is much worse than other times.

I almost totally forgot about this thread. Anyways nevertheless I'm still a little curious why you'll need that much PM's except you'll probably want to store it safe for reference purpose because I can say if I was around when Satoshi was still active and I have a few PMs from him then I definitely would keep it.

Just out of curiosity does it take time to load up when you visit your message area or it only slows down when you click the view all button?

When you click the personal messages link, it takes 10-60 seconds to load the PMs. There is no message like when you click the All button.

The only thing I need PMs for is to protect me from the lies of others, but people will believe what they want anyway, so does it really matter? I have PMs clearing me from all sorts of false allegations. Whenever I post them it just gets buried or people claim they’re edited. PMs don’t provide any benefit even when they should, so who cares if they go missing? (Edited for the sake of peace)

No, I have over 1500+ messages ( deleted alot) and there's no "view all" button in PM

You may not care about yours but some persons do. Some of your pm could serve as legal documents.

I haven't come across any tools yet..
just as they have shared above you could manually request from theymos.
Though what I was actually thinking is that you can open any page of your pm, then automatically print that page with Ctrl+P
Then the first page prints all the messages you received so far, and when you have printed that first page, you could moved to page 2 and do the same that is the way you can print pm manually.

Now that you guys have bumped with thread of mine again, I have another question! Have any of you used the "prune message" options before? I know what it means and does, but I haven't, and I didn't wanted to delete my messages accidentally, so never touching that option. I only did ever used the "delete selected" option, but that's seems like too much work when you are clearing out everything in bulks.

Let me know, if you guys have any ideas..
