Stopping at the right time is the most important thing in gambling and perhaps the most difficult because it's hard to stop when you are winning and the adrenaline is running high. Similarly, when you are losing it's hard to digest that you lost and want to keep trying until either everything is lost or you profit. If you lose all the balance well, that at least gives you a break although costly. But if you win by chance, you then get greedy and want to keep winning lol.
