As for me, I never did this, 'analysis' thingy, I watch cricket regularly, and I know what I should be doing while making bets.

You may not like it, and you may not have been doing it, but analysis is good. Sometimes, a team may be much better at playing at home than away. They may also be good at scoring more goals in the second half than in the first half. So if you don't check stats and do analysis, you might not know, but again, you still need luck to win.

Watching the match of the teams you bet on will provide you substantial with which you can make your prediction but I doubt there is anyone that can watch all the matches they bet on because most events happen the same time and they are so many of them. Even if you are able to watch the matches of your favorite team, those of the people they are playing will still elude you which means you have to rely on other means to get your complete analysis and arrive at your preferred option to bet on.

However, not all bettors place bets during the match, most others place pre-match bets. So, the analysis in question could be an analysis of the condition of a team or athlete before the match is held, this is important to strengthen betting choices.

I agree. When you are watching the games of the sport that you love, then you are being updated on how strong or weak they are with their stars or without them, and then on whom they are up against. It's an analysis, but it's the raw one. Now, it needs to be polished, and that where references, histories, records, and stats will come in.
After that game, a sports enthusiast will probably go to the stats, checking all the records. In basketball, from total rebound stats to turnovers of each team, up to the shooting percentage. Casual players don't need analysis because they might have an idea of about all those things but not very accurately but who want to take things to next level will compare all the possible stats along with player's combination and venue of the game and home team and all these comes in handy to increase the chance little better but not going to give us 100% accuracy with our prediction.

I get your point currently, but watching football matches and being a fan can give you information about the team, it player's and performance on recent time, this is call your knowledge.

Analysis is when you now use that knowledge you got to look into the possibilities of various clubs/team, and making your bet decisions based on the informations you build from that Analysis.

You can see the difference between the two now, why the first give you the data of the clubs to work with, and the later give you the chacne to compare various clubs before betting on them.

Yes, you are absolutely right!. For sport betting, it is very easy to predict when you are familiar with each team's performance by watching them play than just analyzing statistically. Because in a certain situation, the final outcome doesn't do justice to the match performance itself so if we judge or predict matches based off statistics, we can as well guess wrongly.

But do you know that many punters are not only going for such matches? They are also going for matches that they are not keeping up with.

This is where the analysis comes in, the football league you didn't watch and keep up with their matches and players, where you know nothing about the injuries and the situation going on within the league, red card that suspends a particular top striker to miss the next match, goal keeper injury.

All these are the reasons gambler does analysis on the football league they can't keep up with. For the ones they keep watching regularly, it's always easier and doesn't need much time to predict, just a few glance on the both clubs brings out the possible outcome.

Now, when the person hasn't watched all the games, but only some, then analyzing the other games using the head-to-head record between both teams, using the results of the last 5 games, using the results that both teams had at home is another good option.

'Analyzing a game' before placing your bet, often sounds like a very big word, but personally, I don't think it's a tedious task either. For anyone who follow a sport like football frequently, they literally don't spend much time contemplating on who to bet on and how to place their bet. A good sport (football) bettor at this very point, knows exactly the teams that are currently on form and the teams that are not. They have an idea on teams that are having injury crisis and those that are not. I'm not sure of how exactly none sport individuals place bet, because analyzing what you don't even watch doesn't make much sense to me.

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but as for me, I always end up knowing the current happenings in football from time to time, and that's enough analysis imo. Bookmakers are the only ones who go extreme in making forward analysis I guess.

I guess that's how you can analyze it while watching, but you cannot do anything about it if you have already made a bet. If you do it while the game is going on, you are probably going to get lower odds, which isn't that great.

For myself and for others who used to play football or other kinds of sports before we had to quit or reduce our physical involvement due to certain good reasons, we followed the sports and became so conversant with how the game is played and how the odds add up.
