Directed by a friend to this forum, still fueled by anger but I will manage.

I lost some Bitcoin that I mined myself some years ago, I used Bitcoin wallet named Electrom and I was able to kept them for five years, I don't have interest in anything else than Bitcoin unfortunately something happened to my laptop and after several months of using my laptop after repair my Bitcoin was moved out.

That's a story for another day, I got angry because I suspected the repairer and I still landed in trouble, what I want to know is how to be more careful with Bitcoin so that I will not end up losing it after few years of keeping it, I regret not selling but how will I know that I will end up losing them? It is my fault, I should have been more careful.

What should I do so that this misfortune will never repeat itself in my life ever again.

Sorry for the lost, if really what you claimed was a true life story of yours on cryptocurrency or Bitcoin journey, however I think it would be hard for the repairer to gain access to your Eelctrum wallet, despite how technical he maybe, there must be a little challenges before getting an access to your wallet, because it must requires password, again your seed phrase must have been kept aside just because of all these incidents, you actually choose the best wallet to used which is electrum but it all depends of how it was being used by you.

In addition, leaving your bitcoin in laptop is not advisable, so it's better you find an alternative to secure your bitcoin, seek for more knowledge on caution ⚠️ and security, go through a research in order to avoid story that touches the heart.

Am so sorry it happens this way, the pain is very understandable because the reason is not about you not selling but the security you used isn't strong enough that's why it happened this way , you see bitcoin gives full control but you see mistakes isn't reversible when it occurs.

If you want to avoid this again, I will advice you to always backup phrase  and avoid keeping long term bitcoin on a device that you repair or share with other people, make sure you use a strong offline storage like that hardware wallets. I know that this lesson might be hard but fixing your security isn't too late, fixing it now it's the way forward on how to keep your bitcoin strong.

Thanks for your advice, I have given up on running a wallet on laptops or computer, I can't figure out if th repairer is responsible or not but I am not willing to let something like this happen again, many comments are blaming me I see and I accept the blames, I have decided to find means of buying a hardware wallet already.

To make what I have lost back is now impossible, it will cost me a lot of years, this is my only regret now..

I do not think the person that fixed your laptop stole your Bitcoin because the person is not aware that you store Bitcoin in your laptop. Since your laptop is connected online, it could be that before your laptop got spoilt, you already clicked on a phishing link that got you exposed and gave someone access to your Bitcoin, and the person moved your Bitcoin to another wallet. If you do not want to lose your Bitcoin to someone else for the second time, do not expose your wallet private key to someone else and store your Bitcoin in an offline wallet so that scammers will not have access to your wallet and Bitcoin.

I don't think if the guy is responsible for that I'm suspecting maybe you must have disclose your wallet seed phrase to someone unknowingly or you might have click a random link thinking that they can't harm you, because I noticed that people usually make this mistake almost every time more especially those who are still new in this crypto space. Here you need to be very careful with your seed phrase, you can joke with everything but as for the seed phrase you should not joke with it because they are very important infact if you lose them be rest assured that you have loss all your assets.

They are blaming you for your actions, some people believe you are lying and I'm beginning to suspect your words. You mine Bitcoin back to then, that means you are tech experience, you know about some rig mining and was able to mine Bitcoin, what I don't know now is how you were able to understand Bitcoin core early Bitcoin knowledge but you don't know electrum, you wrote electrom and I responded because that might be because of mother tongue, I'm not too convinced with this your super stories.

I suggested you an idea the other time to check your wallet address, if the Bitcoin is out of the wallet, check the destination wallet and you will now where your Bitcoin goes. You can paste the transaction here so we can help you check exactly where the problem lies. It's funny to me that you really mine Bitcoin early days and you lost your Bitcoin to a random guy, it's well.

It is my fault, I should have been more careful.

What should I do so that this misfortune will never repeat itself in my life ever again.
Humans are prone to forgetfulness and mistakes. You don't need to dwell on your actions. Learn valuable lessons from this incident and try your best to avoid repeating them.

I see several mistakes you can learn from, and I will list them one by one:

1. How to store your Bitcoin wallet.
You should keep your Bitcoin wallet secure and never let anyone access it. Furthermore, you should separate your wallet for daily use and your wallet for long-term storage. Personally, I differentiate between the two and store them using external storage, such as a hard disk drive (HDD) and a solid-state drive (SSD). For my everyday wallet, I leave it on my personal computer, and even then, I make sure it is safe from being hacked or touched by others.

2. How to repair it.
You can take your device to a repair shop, but you shouldn't allow your wallet storage to be touched. This means removing your internal storage before taking it to a repair shop. Besides that, I think you should learn to repair your own software. There are plenty of tutorials online, but hardware repairs may require a lot of learning and may take some time. Therefore, if it is hardware-related, it should be better to do what I recommend. The bottom line is, don't let anyone touch your wallet.

By the way, I once repaired my work laptop, but because it contained important data, especially government data, I removed the internal storage to prevent any unwanted incidents. So, I think you should follow some of suggestions, and learn from any experiences, including your own. Cmiiw.

I assume the problem isn't related to the storage, then? Because it's pretty hard to fix if your OS is corrupt or got attacked by malware without checking if your storage is fine or not (especially if you have malware there). Then again, if it's a device for government-related data, I'd assume they have a backup already. The best option is still to make consistent backups, I believe. Especially for something as important as a crypto wallet.

Do you have your wallet address, check wallet explorer and see if the Bitcoin is still there. If they are, then you can follow the above instructions to recover your Bitcoin. If your hard disk is not affected, you will get back your Bitcoin. Try and create a paper wallet and send the Bitcoin to the new wallet just to be safe but make sure it's properly backup and it you can get a hardware wallet, that's a perfect choice for long term storage.
He said his bitcoin were moved out I.e stolen  months after the repair he made which led to him suspecting the repairer ..
“after several months of using my laptop after repair my Bitcoin was moved out.”-- quote from OP

He probably agree he messed up already.. now, he’s trying to find answers to doing it rightly the second time.

And you believe him? Everyone should ask themselves what would be the first thing they would do if the device they stored their bitcoins on fell into the wrong hands? The OP isn't just a beginner, but also a bit of a miner. I think everyone would first check for the presence of their bitcoins and then urgently transfer them to another wallet. But here we see a story where the OP remembers three months later that he had bitcoins on a laptop that was broken in the past.

It's not exactly a well-contrived story. Undecided Huh

Is this how you people are on this forum? I don't know that my laptop was compromised until I couldn't find the Bitcoin anymore, my balance was all gone, the only lead I had was the repair of my laptop but a engineer that I trusted, this isn't even something that happened this month, someone directed me to this forum after I told the person what have happened.

What do you mean by "you believe him" ? Are you even human? Idiot.

Not that I actually mined any coin? You can't ask for proof? I can see that this forum is full of stupid people who blindly judge others, I have no reason to be on here anymore, my question is answered already and thanks to others who took their time to answer without criticism and hate. Goodbye.
