For me, honestly? I usually stop when it stops being fun, or when i realize i’m basically just trying to get back the money i lost five minutes ago.

You know, that magical “I’ll quit after this one” moment… that never works it will end you broke or end up yelling at the screen like it owes you money, and that’s usually when u know you should just step away.

So, what about you guys? Do you stop when you hit a limit, or just when you realize you’re stressing more than enjoying it?

I stop whenever I notice that I'm becoming too emotional with it,  gambling gets very frustrating when you only focus more on winning than enjoying the game. whenever i realize that I'm stressing over my losses and trying to get them back i opt out immediately because I know what would happen if u continue to gamble in that mode. The most important thing is to know your limit and also be disciplined

It's pretty simple in my case because I always send exactly the amount I'm ready to lose. So, let's say I want to play poker and have $100 to spend. There are 3 situations where a bell will ring in my head telling me it's time to end this:

1. I lose all my money.
2. I'm up 2x or more.
3. I've been playing for so long that I'm getting tired and still haven't doubled the money nor lost it all.

I usually have such a small limit for my gambling session that my 2x either comes fast, or I lose everything and move on. Usually I play with just $50.

Although not always. But usually I will stop for a while after getting some satisfactory results and enjoying them first. Or I will only stop when there are no more sports matches to bet on. Well, there are many reasons. Maybe if my special budget runs out, I will also stop. But so far that has not happened. The point is, for me, the reasons vary depending on the situation and are never the same. However, if the budget reaches its limit, then it's almost certain that I'll stop. Because personally, I always want to stick to the budget I've set.

I set very clear limits on beforehand, and stick to these limits most of the times, with few exceptions. I allocate certain money and I divide it in my head in a number of attempts, so that when I make them all and/or spend the initially planned money, I quit, regardless of whether I won or lost.

Blindly following instinct or emotions doesn't seem to be a good strategy when it comes to gambling, unless you have so much money you don't need to care about potential losses at all, which unfortunately isn't the case in most cases.

I've had many situations where I wanted to stop, but I kept playing. But that was a long time ago. Now I want a more thoughtful approach to play; it's more interesting for me at this stage. Today, if I say stop, it's 100% a stop and I'm done playing. I no longer allow myself to make excuses to put it off. The game has become easier for me now, because those who keep telling themselves it's their last bet and keep betting with tripled force will have dire consequences for their deposit.

Majority of gamblers will be completely stop at the time that they would be able to bust up their money. Only a few would be able to make out some withdrawal when they are winning because the primary thing that would come up into their mind is that if they would be continuing to play on which they have that winning streak then we would definitely be thinking that we will be able to maximize that luck until the last drop and make tons of money but as we do all know on what gambling reality do works on which we gamblers will be the losers in the end. If you are that not sensible towards your actions then you will definitely be losing tons of money and would be murmuring that you shouldnt have played from the start. Its recommended that when you do play gambling then you should be playing just for fun.

Self control and discipline will be the best thing that you should be considering on because you wont be putting up yourself into harm if you are that mindful towards your actions.

I stop gambling when I have either win my bets or if I unluckily lose my first deposit, I'm not going to make another deposit again. The strategy I use is only to stake with half of what I allocated to gambling. Once I'm done with that first deposit, I will call it a quit. Although most times I can win and still decide to continue playing but once I'm losing too much, I will have to cash out the amount I have won.

Both winning and losing can make me stop betting for the day and even week. If I have exhausted what I budget for gambling in a day, I stop. There is also a way I will lose bet consecutively, that will signal that such a day is not a lucky one, hence I have to stop and wait for another day. If I also get some nice wins, I can decide to stop for the day so I don't end up losing the money again due to greed. These decisions were born out of experience and my method is my way of adjusting so that gambling will not be a source of depression to me.

Mainly, I stopped when the odds of games are against me in 3-5 games. I don't try to force myself to have a win before stopping because that would be a dead trap to lose all that I didn't bargain for.

It's a good feeling to find yourself leaving a gambling house with not much regret about the amount lost, other than a little amount. Gamblers should always long for that when they are gambling.

I have my weekly budget for gambling, so I apply both. Sometimes we can't control our gambling activities for some reason, the only thing that get me back on track is when I realized that I am stressed out and just want to recover what is lost.  If ever I get a hint that my action is like that, I abruptly stop my gambling activities and rest for some day.

I go back when I feel refreshed, not stressing over the previous loss and had already moved on from the previous series of losing streak.  This way I have a cleared mind and regain control over my gambling activity.

In my opinion, the point at which to stop usually comes when the game ceases to be entertainment and starts to become an attempt to recoup losses. From then on, decisions are no longer as sound and stress can take over. Sometimes there's even a defined financial limit, but the emotional limit usually arrives first. When I realize I'm playing more out of frustration than for fun, it's a good sign that it's time to quit and come back another day. In other words, it's always good to have balance, both emotional and financial.

I just stop when I feel like stopping, it is not about whether I already made money or I am trying to recover the money, I never do that or atleast I won't deposit more money to execute that.

That's true, and well, I don't stop because I lost or won, I stop because I play sports, so I place my bet and sit down to watch a game or two if I have time, or I simply check the results later. So I don't have a specific reason to stop. I suppose the OP is referring to casino games like slots or others; there it depends on each person, as you rightly said.

The moment the games results are not providing me with positive turn out after several streaks I quickly conclude that it is not my day, and instead of forcing it with the facade that the next attempt may be with good result what I do is quite it and come back at it the next day.

It is not every gambler that can read the atmosphere of the games results and quickly make a safe decision about it. Repeat on more and more attempts upon streaks of loss will not flip the results. What needed to be done was to quit it the very instant you made your 3 to 4  losses in a row.

I don't wait until i run out of funds before I stop gambling, this is actually a display of indiscipline when you keep gambling till you end up losing everything in your bank account. Sometimes we chase losses and end up winning thinking that it would be possible to get the samw result everytime. I stop gambling the moment my money allocated for the day is exhausted, that's when am losing. And if am not on a losing streak, like it's my lucky day and am winning and still catching the fun, I stop when am satisfied. You know there's a point you will get to when gambling, it will feel like you are just forcing yourself and you ain't catching the fun, that's exactly when to stop. I don't know for others but that's how I operate.

The thing is casinos have mastered the art of making a game "spicy". If you're playing slots, how many near misses do you see as your balance depletes closer to zero because they seem more common to me and wouldn't actually have any bearing on the odds that they proclaim to offer - it's just a visual representation of a loss. Same with the built in mini games, they control how long it takes them to pay out and might fill up the bar with 4 out of 5 stars in the first 20 spins but it takes another 30 before the last star lands to unlock the game. All of this is clever psychology against players to get them playing longer or have them reload the wallet. I usually go in with a fixed amount and manage to burn through it fairly quickly, after that it's time to leave.

Well, I gamble for fun and losing isn't much fun so when I start losing I just stop gambling anymore. I used to gamble very less in past but from last two weeks I've been into casinos once again, and to be honest, I've enjoyed some good times on the casinos and no losses so far.

I'm a sport betting fan but for sake of fun I've tried online casino games by different providers mostly PP, and enjoyed those games pretty well and at same time took some profit as well. However, I must say I was lucky because otherwise it's not easy to take any from from a casino due to that house edge.

I've now stopped gambling and will only gamble with bonus money but not for more than 2-10 minutes a day or skips 1-2 days before more betting. So, in simple words I do stop when I lose but at the same time I win I also stop.

Same here and I recommend it. But I do not wait until it stops being fun. I leave when the fun is on so that It is still still enjoyable the next time I return rather than leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

Yes, It never works and infact the moment you say this to yourself is the moment that you are suppose to quit and is the cue but I know that most gamblers would have already been so into it that they wouldn't know how to pull themselves outta it.

Quitting when you've reached your limit is better than quitting when you're already stressed, especially when you've exhausted everything, which is the wrong way to go in my opinion.

Most of the time, the allocation runs out, for example, $50 for gambling and losing is not left, so you have to stop immediately because the money is allocated for gambling, so that's your limit in gambling.
