TL;DR — Myntacoin Launch Status

  • Myntacoin launched under heavy time pressure after last-minute dependency changes and incomplete documentation
  • Linux binaries and build paths were not ready, which caused friction at launch
  • Network participation ramped faster than expected, exposing pool and infrastructure gaps
  • At block 1729, a masternode registration bug caused a full chain stall
  • A fix was deployed and the chain was successfully recovered with help from the community!
  • All funds, balances, and data are safe — no chain reset has occurred!
  • The chain is currently functional, DNS Issues have been resolved!

What happens next:

  • We are monitoring stability and assisting nodes with clean peer connections
  • We will not rush risky fixes
  • Continue mining normally!
  • A proper public testnet is now operational with the community to validate DNS, discovery, pools, binaries, and documentation
  • Mainnet is stable!

We own the launch issues. This was an execution failure, not a vision failure. We are committed to doing this right, even if it means slowing down.

The web wallet created before the mainnet launch is still not working. Some people started mining with it and now can't access the coins they earned.

This was an execution failure, not a vision failure.
Don't forget to change the Ravencoin icon in your file "mynta-qt" to the icon of your coin, if this "vision" differs in any way from the launch of another shitcoin.

  • All funds, balances, and data are safe — no chain reset has occurred!

The web wallet created before the mainnet launch is still not working. Some people started mining with it and now can't access the coins they earned.

To clarify the distinction here:

The blockchain itself is intact. No chain reset has occurred, and all balances remain fully accountable on-chain.

The issue being referenced relates to the **pre-launch web wallet**, not the consensus layer. Prior to launch, a large warning banner was placed on the website explicitly stating that the web wallet was experimental and should not be relied upon without backing up the recovery phrase.

We tested multiple wallets with funds prior to launch (example address: MGidSyw6fNH2z8EJxg9VdA4bLS7W5yUjyC) and have verified that funds remain spendable via proper key or seed import.

Some users may be experiencing access issues due to client-side web caching or incomplete backups. In those cases, the funds are not lost — they remain on-chain and are recoverable with the correct seed phrase or private key. We are reviewing daemon logs and timestamps to assist affected users where possible.

When we state that no funds were lost, we mean that the ledger itself has remained fully consistent and accountable.

This was an execution failure, not a vision failure.

Quote

Version 1.0.2.0 includes updated Mynta branding and imagery.

We are currently validating static builds and finalizing build documentation to ensure reproducible source builds across platforms. Autogen and configure scripts are also being modernized as part of that process.

These are packaging and tooling tasks, not consensus or protocol issues.

via proper key or seed import.
The seed phrase is unlikely to help. For example, my seed phrase obtained while testing the web wallet consists of 24 words, each of which begins with the letter "A". It is obvious that this phrase is not valid and does not contain the correct checksum words at the end.
Add to this everything that is typical of 99% of worthless clones (another coin icon, launch issues, lack of any innovations), and we end up with yet another shitcoin whose lifespan will end a few days after the start of OTC trading or an exchange listing.
In any case, I wish you luck with your project. It will really need it.

The claim about seed phrases is simply incorrect.

Seed phrases do work and have been tested extensively across the desktop wallet and web wallet. The example you cite does not reflect the actual implementation and appears to be based on assumptions rather than a review of the code or documentation. The wallet uses standard mnemonic generation and validation, including checksum enforcement. Importing via seed phrase or private key functions as intended.

More broadly, it’s clear no meaningful investigation was done before making these assertions. The code is public. The documentation is public. The website is public and has been repaired. Anyone genuinely interested in evaluating the project can verify this themselves in minutes.

Yes, the launch was rocky. We’ve been transparent about that from the start. What matters is what happened next: the issues were identified, fixed, and the network stabilized without resets, loss of funds, or hidden intervention. The community stepped up, tested, mined, and helped harden the infrastructure. That’s not something you see in “worthless clones.”

We’re proud of what we’ve built so far and how the launch challenges were handled. Constructive technical criticism is always welcome, but dismissive conclusions drawn without examining the code, network, or current state of the project don’t add much value.

If you have specific, reproducible technical concerns, feel free to raise them. Otherwise, best of luck to you as well.

I would also like to reiterate, if you believe you have lost funds - please feel free to reach out to me directly and I would be more then happy to help you recover them.

On January 9 around midnight UTC as part of a test, I created an account in your web wallet. The address RUnkK7Fa7BtPUnguLZ6eYK66G5NJdULLbx was generated and the following seed phrase was provided: [*** *** artist anchor argue airport athlete about zoo add amateur athlete anger asthma arrest advance audit about affair amused ability already *** ***]. I have masked two words at the beginning and two words at the end of the seed phrase. Importing the seed phrase into the web wallet fails, and the wallet address itself cannot be found in the block explorer. Based on messages from users of my telegram channel, similar situations have occurred. It is possible that after the mainnet launch you fixed something on the website, but above I described my own specific case, which I personally encountered shortly after the coin was announced.

Thanks for laying out a concrete example. That context is genuinely helpful, and I want to address it directly.

You are correct that some users who interacted with the pre-launch web wallet encountered an issue. We have since identified the root cause.

During the pre-launch window, the web wallet was operating in an experimental state and, in a limited set of cases, generated mnemonic phrases using a Ravencoin-pattern mnemonic configuration rather than Mynta’s finalized parameters. That mismatch is what caused certain seed phrases to fail validation post-launch and why some addresses may not appear as expected when importing them back into the web interface.

To be clear about the scope:
  • This was not a consensus or blockchain issue
  • No chain reset or ledger alteration has occurred
  • Funds, where generated correctly, remain fully on-chain
  • The failure occurred at the pre-launch web wallet user interface layer, not the protocol layer

Because of this risk, approximately 24 hours before mainnet launch, we placed a prominent red warning banner on both the homepage and the wallet page advising users to only use the local desktop wallet for mining and key generation, and to treat the web wallet as experimental until launch completed. That warning was issued specifically because final wallet parameters were still being locked in.

That said, we also acknowledge the following:
  • Some users interacted with the web wallet before or during that transition
  • The user experience did not adequately prevent this edge case
  • Responsibility for that ultimately sits with us, not the user

Since launch, the web wallet has been corrected to use the proper mnemonic generation and validation logic. We are now reviewing daemon logs, timestamps, and address derivations to assist users who believe they were affected.

If you or anyone else generated a wallet during that window and are unable to access it, please feel free to reach out directly with the address, approximate creation time, and any saved seed or key material. We will review cases individually and help determine recoverability where possible.

Constructive technical feedback grounded in specific cases is always welcome. Infrastructure launches expose edge cases. What matters is identifying them, fixing them transparently, and helping users recover where possible. That is exactly what we are doing here.

Branding, and Where We Came From

Branding matters to Mynta.
But it has never mattered more than community, correctness, functionality, consensus integrity, audits, or long-term sustainability. Those priorities came first, every time.

What we’ve built is not accidental. It’s unique, extensively tested, and already first-of-its-kind in meaningful ways. Early on, some community members pointed out that remnants of Ravencoin branding still appeared in our releases. They were right. We acknowledged it openly. At the time, it simply wasn’t the thing that mattered most.

The reality is this: the divergence between what we started with and what Mynta has become stopped at branding long before it stopped anywhere else.

With our newest release, that finally changed. The wallet now carries Mynta’s own identity fully. And to be honest — that was a bittersweet moment.

For a long time, working inside the wallet and seeing the raven became part of our daily rhythm. It was a reminder of where this project came from. It kept us grounded. It was humbling. Ravencoin’s vision, discipline, and innovation laid a foundation that made this journey possible at all.

So this isn’t a goodbye — it’s a thank you.

Thank you to Ravencoin for what you brought to crypto.
Thank you for proving that proof-of-work, fairness, and utility could coexist.
Thank you for building something worth building from.

Mynta now moves forward under its own banner, but it does so with genuine respect for its roots and for the community that inspired it.

Myntacoin Network Update | 17,000 Blocks Forward

Myntacoin is now more than 17,000 blocks closer to its vision of bringing blockchain utility to families, small businesses, and real world users. It has been just over ten days since launch, and in that short time the network has already been tested, challenged, and strengthened.

A community formed quickly around a brand new chain that experienced a rocky start. Instead of fragmenting, the community stayed engaged, communicated openly, and worked together to mend the chain. Early issues with the web wallet surfaced despite clear testing warnings, yet the community showed patience and worked closely with the team to identify and resolve each problem methodically. That cooperation has set the tone for what Myntacoin is meant to be.

Testnet development has continued in parallel. A faucet has been created and is currently in testing. During this process, several important issues were uncovered and addressed. A block difficulty mismatch caused the original testnet to fail, an issue traced back to legacy Ravencoin code. This has now been resolved and an update will be pushed shortly. An additional safeguard was also added to testnet to act as an escape mechanism in the event of a sudden spike in hashpower followed by an abrupt departure, a condition that could otherwise stall the chain and make recovery difficult. This behavior was also inherited from the upstream codebase and has now been mitigated.

Looking forward, the focus shifts toward infrastructure and independence. We are preparing systems to support masternode operators, completing the on chain atomic swap exchange, and enabling Myntacoin to trade independently of any public exchange. The goal is resilience through self support, self governance, and a community first approach.

This project is still young, but the direction is clear and the foundation is forming quickly. We look forward to continuing this journey together.

Development Update

Masternodes are scheduled to go live in approximately 10 days. Current network hashrate remains relatively low, allowing early participants sufficient time to accumulate the required collateral.

Internal infrastructure modeling and deployment workflows are still in progress. The goal is to ensure that users who are less familiar with the technical aspects of masternode operation can deploy and manage a node through a guided, reliable process without requiring deep system knowledge.

Testnet has been updated to better support masternode testing, and an early test version of the deployment flow has been added to the website for evaluation and feedback.

Web wallet functionality has been fully resolved and is now operating reliably and as intended.

For community members who do not have access to mining hardware but are active within crypto communities, an ongoing giveaway is currently available in the Discord server:

📢 Myntacoin Network Update — Forks, Masternodes & Reactivation Plan

Over the past several days, the Myntacoin network experienced instability related to masternode payout consensus. This resulted in chain splits and inconsistent masternode reward calculations across nodes.

The immediate priority was to stabilize the chain and prevent further divergence.

    That has been accomplished.

The network is currently stable, blocks are being produced normally, and consensus is intact.

However, masternode payouts are currently being restricted while a full deterministic audit is underway.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    🔍 What Happened

The issue stemmed from disagreement between nodes on masternode payout calculations under certain conditions. When nodes disagree on block reward distribution, a fork can occur.

Rather than rush a partial fix and risk another split, masternode payouts were temporarily limited to controlled monitoring so we could:

    • Audit deterministic payout logic
    • Verify tier weighting calculations
    • Review ProTx edge cases
    • Simulate reorg conditions
    • Ensure no two honest nodes can disagree on payout winners

Network stability takes priority over emission speed.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    ⚙️ Current State

    • Core version 1.3.2 is required
    • The chain is stable
    • Over 380 masternodes are currently registered
    • Masternode payouts are currently being submitted only by myntacoin.org pool for controlled monitoring
    • That pool represents roughly 1/15 of total hashpower, so masternode payouts will be infrequent during this audit phase

    This is temporary and intentional.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

🧠 Why We Did Not Fully Re-Enable Immediately

Reactivating masternodes without absolute deterministic certainty risks:

    • Another fork
    • Payout disagreement
    • Lost miner confidence
    • Long-term damage to network credibility

Short-term frustration is survivable. Another unstable fork is not.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    🛠 Audit & Hardening Plan

    Phase 1 — Deterministic Review
    • Full review of weighted tier payout algorithm
    • Verification of sorting stability
    • Overflow and edge-case testing
    • Validation against mempool-order differences

Phase 2 — ProTx Attack Surface Testing
    • Registration spam simulation
    • Rapid IP change scenarios
    • Tier churn simulation
    • Revocation and re-registration edge cases
    • Fuzz testing malformed ProTx payloads

    Phase 3 — Reorg Simulation
    • 1-block, 5-block, and 10-block reorg testing
    • Masternode list rollback verification
    • Payout recalculation validation under reorg

    Phase 4 — Multi-Node Deterministic Harness
    • Parallel node execution
    • Forced masternode churn
    • Cross-node payout winner comparison
    • Automatic failure detection on divergence

A public audit summary will be released once this is complete.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    🔓 Reactivation Conditions

Full masternode payout reactivation will occur only after:

    [list=1]
    • Deterministic payout agreement verified across test nodes
    • Reorg rollback tests pass
    • ProTx fuzz testing passes
    • 48 hours of stable monitored operation

    Reactivation is condition-based, not date-based.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    💬 On Communication & Expectations

Earlier timelines proved premature. That is on me.

The focus now is correctness over speed.

    Going forward:

    • Major changes will be condition-based
    • Audit progress will be posted publicly
    • Network state will be clearly communicated

This project is not abandoned. Work continues deliberately to ensure consensus stability.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

🙏 To Miners & Masternode Operators

We understand many invested time and resources expecting masternode returns.

The goal is not just to turn it back on — the goal is to ensure it cannot break again under adversarial conditions.

    If you are not syncing:

    • Confirm you are running v1.3.2
    • Ensure old chain data was cleared (except wallet.dat and config)
    • Verify you are on the correct chain height

    Constructive questions are welcome.

The network will move forward — correctly.
