Hi All

Trying mining again as have another Antminer.

I will be using Brains Pool and have put on BrainsOS via flash/SD card.

I'm based in UK and wondered if the pool 'distance' matters at all?

Is it worth pinging the nearest pool?

I will only be running 180-200Th.

Thanks

Are we in consolidation phase?

Yes, you should focus mining on lower ping pool servers. I think the minimum is below 120 ms ping.
But having a much lower ping if you found a pool with 70ms below is better to reduce stale shares.

If you are living in the EU, then try this pool stratum+tcp://eu.stratum.braiins.com:3333
It should be the right pool for EU miners.

Pool distance isn’t a huge factor, but it can help reduce stale shares and improve efficiency. I usually check latency with a ping, then pick the server that responds fastest. Brains Pool is reliable, and BrainsOS makes it easy to switch servers if needed. Cool

As others have stated the lower the latency the better.
