In gambling, winning or losing is mostly determined by luck. Experience will only help you make good decisions. Being lucky or God's grace, however you want to depend on others, may lead you to a monotonous belief and make you lazy. You need to be patient in long term Bitcoin investment or if you want to trade, you need to gain experience. Every action involves perseverance. If you want to achieve something without hard work, it will not be sustainable and you will soon collapse because your foundation was not strong.
There is no denying the importance of luck, especially in gambling. But there is a difference. While luck is not in our control, the way we make decisions is in our hands, even if two people play with the same amount of money, one sticks to a budget, while the other repeatedly increases the bet on emotion, In the end these small decisions make a big difference. Similarly investing in Bitcoin is not just about buying and holding,If you can patiently follow a plan, the results will be the same but if you change your mind repeatedly on emotion, the results may be different. Discipline is often more influential than luck.

In gambling, discipline would only guarantee losing less cause the gambler would be spending according to budget and not blindly chasing huge reward outside the budget. But discipline in a investment can guarantee success at the end, I know that the future of Bitcoin is unknown so anyone is right to say that success isn't guaranteed but then we all believe that Bitcoin would maintain it's success stories as it's done historically so if an investor can be discipline with holding and it maintains it's progressive pattern then the investor would be successful.

Why would someone who's just starting out on their bitcoin investment want to start with a loan in the first place, something you are not familiar with and you want to start with borrowed money is the definition of someone making a financial mistake and worst of all this mistake is being made from the very start of their investment journey, for a newbie who wants to start buying bitcoin they should first of all figure out their discretionary income and start buying bitcoin from there.
Those are people that will find a reason to blame the investment for their discontinuation in the process because of their unguided decisions, sincerely speaking, a beginner is not supposed to have anything to do with loan for Bitcoin investment, maybe some persons do not understand what's meant by intending investor, intending investor is someone that has not started investing yet, a person that is about to start, this person or persons may not know much about Bitcoin investment although it is not required that they must know about much about Bitcoin before they can go in, however, the thing is that, an intending investor should not put a financial stress on himself, because it is not ideal, rather the best he can do is to invest with their discreationary income as your rightly said which is the best way to go about Bitcoin investment.

If guys are starting out investing large amounts, then surely they have to make sure that they are overly investing, going beyond their discretionary funds and they likely have to make sure that they are putting in sufficient efforts to strengthen their cashflow management systems/practices, which includes their back up funds, and so yeah, guys might be proclaiming that they are investing when they are really gambling and/or buying beyond their own abilities... which might end up causing them to have to sell bitcoin at a time that was not of their own choosing.
I agree with you. If someone is investing beyond discretionary income they need to make sure they are not gambling with their funds, meaning they are not thinking about selling soon. I consider your recommendation as a reliable and strong foundation for long-term investing because a cashflow management system is a method through which an investor like any real financial matter will prioritize and be responsible for Bitcoin accumulation. Considering your financial situation, how to continue accumulation Bitcoin regularly and not create any unwanted pressure to withdraw cashflow management should be considered very seriously just as you are building an emergency fund and keeping Bitcoin holdings safe zone for the long term.

I see anyone investing beyond his discretionary income as a gambler because he is investing with part of the money for his basic needs and when his needs arises, he will be forced to sell his bitcoin investment so, I don't see how this type of investor should make sure that he's not gambling when he is already gambling. It's good to only invest with part of your discretionary income so that, he can also take care of his basic needs and monthly expenses without any stress on him financially. There is no need to force yourself to buy with a higher amount because what really matters in your bitcoin accumulation journey is consistency and persistency overtime no matter how little your discretionary income is because it will keep you in the accumulation game for long till you reach your bitcoin target in future.

If will be hard to successfully HODL bitcoin when you are buying beyond what your discretionary income can allow so those who are doing this are most likely looking to sell within a very short period of time , they are traders or more like gamblers even and usually they buy when they feel like the price of bitcoin will be going up very soon, the false hope they have in their ability to predict bitcoin's price movement is usually what leads to them losing and then selling at a loss because their prediction doesn't happen and the price might instead decline after they buy. In order to not have the go through the hassle of having yo cut your losses and sell prematurely it is better ot buy bitcoin with your discretionary income and HODL even though steep price changes, the goal should be long term accumulation and HODLing.

At this point, this discussion is beyond whether someone is thinking of selling his Bitcoin soon or not. An investor might not even have any intentions of selling at all, but if they invest beyond what they can comfortably afford, then is a problem. That’s why JJG emphasized on “discretionary funds” and good “cash flow management”. The goal is not just to continue to buy BTC, but to make sure your one financial situation is strong enough so you can keep holding no matter what. Long term investing will only work when the foundation is strong enough to support it

If someone is buying with alot of money they'll still need money for emergencies , then every price dip becomes a reason to panic and sell. That's why having an emergency fund and investing only from discretionary funds is so important. It allows you to think long term instead of reacting emotionally to short-term price movements.

As a first-timer or as a newbie investor, starting a Bitcoin investment with a loan means you're already at a disadvantage with this investment just at the start because when you borrow money to invest in something that you don't have a proper understanding of, it's even gambling because you're already in debt with the loan, and how do you cope with the risk? Because the market is volatile, it goes up and down; sometimes we can have a 20%-30% market drawdown, and this will definitely force you to sell, and put you in panic mode, which is why it's advisable you should use your discretionary income only for such investments, and this way you won't panic sell during a huge market volatility.

Apart from gambling alot of them do it as a result of greed and ignorance to be honest, Some of them feel that if they put more money, then they will be able to get more profit out of Bitcoin. So that kind of mindset pushes them to over stretch themselves in terms of funds while ignoring the risk attached to it. Investing with a very large amount doesn't mean that they will even be profitable, like you said alot of them end's up selling at the wrong time. Especially when there's a need of urgent funds to sort themselves. Investors that wants to increase their discretionary income should first sort their important bills, expenses and make sure that their emergency funds is also being worked on. If they can't increase their discretionary income, there shouldn't bother to do beyond their means instead they should keep investing with what they can afford. That way they aren't prone to high risk like that of a person who decides to do beyond their capabilities.

I agree with you that discipline is definitely important. But you need to understand that two investors may not have the same results even if they follow the same budget and plan. Perhaps discipline can control your behavior, but it cannot control the market outcome. For example, my friend and I are buying the same amount of Bitcoin. My friend has a steady income, a few months of emergency funds, and the opportunity to hold it for a long time. But my income is irregular and my cash management is so poor that I have to sell Bitcoin if any unexpected expenses come up. Here, even though our buying plan is the same, in reality, the risks and rewards for both of us are not the same.

But you need to understand that two investors may not have the same results even if they follow the same budget and plan. Perhaps discipline can control your behavior, but it cannot control the market outcome.Discipline is a very important aspect of bitcoin investment if a person will succeed in bitcoin investment, a disciplined investor can be so financially stable and controls his expenditures consciously. The market can not be controlled by any ones emotions and getting very emotional at every market decline will get your bitcoin safety strained and you may fall off guard before your initial investment plans. So it's better to focus on what we can control than things we have no say about.
Having a steady income is financially relaxing and a relaxed mind can be more focused in achieving success than a suffering folk who is not sure of his next meal. When you think of how to secure your bitcoin investment, the focus should be on your emergency funds and not on the amount of money you are earning. If you do not build your emergency funds strongly, if you are the type of people that sometimes dip hands in your emergency funds to invest, then you may never succeed in bitcoin because you may dip your hands today, and emergency situation will also happen today. If it happens, you will have no option than to sell your bitcoin. A folk may have a good source of income but lacks discipline, while another folk has no steady source of income but has discipline, for sure, the disciplined dude will succeed better than the smart players who toil with their bitcoin and hoping that they will always have an available cash since they also have a steady income. But folks without steady income sees every little money that enters their hand as their last money and they make good plans with it. So the success of bitcoin investment is not entirely the product of having steady income.

However, there are some people who have invested elsewhere in the past and who are aware of the risks and have taken loans based on their financial situation and are not dependent on Bitcoin to repay the loan, that person can invest with a loan if they want.
