There are two options for how you buy Bitcoin in my view and speculation.
1. Buy at the beginning of the year, my speculation is not a bad idea, of course you can target Bitcoin prices above $250k next halving.

We saw Bitcoin price rising to 126k last Oct and now it's ideal time to buy Bitcoin because price has gone down significantly. Best time to buy Bitcoin is when it's down.

The best risk management is actually to invest what you can afford to lose, bitcoin been very unpredictable Just some speculations it is best to go for long term plan because this will actually help reduce the market volatility which affects it to fall or raise but tell your friend that bitcoin held for a very long time has the history to actually increase in price and be in profit, that’s why it is always advisable to go for long term.

As for the 2026 prediction I think that’s not a question someone that is looking to invest into bitcoin should be worried about my advice is for him to focus on accumulation either using the DCA method gradually or any other method, if the market actually dips then you might have gotten a huge profit and if it’s bullish then you would still be in profit for accumulating

If your friend is planning to invest on bitcoin only for the year 2026 then it is not the right time, maybe he can invest on some of the bank investment scheme that guarantees a return after the locking period.

Reading full of your story, keep away from close friend has afraid for investing in bitcoin better not recommended them to invest in cryptocurrency because actually very bad ideas for your friend relationship in the future. He still hasn't mentality for investing in bitcoin exactly how get panic moment one day later if bitcoin at the downtrend  moment or significant dumping.

Seeing bitcoin price still drop under $100k is right moment for investing but your friend not ready to loss and want to earn profit only, better tell him saving money in the bank or put under billow if won't loss yet.

Only invest money that you can afford to lose, this applies to all investments and assets, not just the cryptocurrency market. Anyone who wants to invest in Bitcoin can invest. I don't discourage anyone, nor can any of us be able to predict what the Bitcoin price will look like this year, and the amount the person considers to be a large amount will be based on how much they are worth. The money belongs to your friend. If he's not convinced yet to invest, I don't see a reason or need for me to convince the person at all. They should decide on their own so that they don't hold anyone responsible if the price happens to drop as speculated and the person is not patient enough to wait till it starts to recover back and sells off under panic.

I don't agree with you here and such statement can make a newbie to be considering buying bitcoin only when it is down, best time buy bitcoin is whenever you have money to buy bitcoin whether it is down or not with the use of dollar cost averaging. For anyone that has a large amount to buy bitcoin, for a newbie using the dollar cost averaging is the best as they gradually gain knowledge and experience about the market because if they invest all at once they can panic too much when the market didn't go as they expected it, any time one buy bitcoin is the best time because the market is unpredictable.

I would never advise someone to invest in Bitcoin. We just don't know what the price of Bitcoin will be like in the future, it could drop badly, and I wouldn't want to be the one blamed for giving the wrong investment advice. If he asks about Bitcoin, maybe I will say that it is a volatile asset - and if he has the intention but is still hesitant, I will not comment further, because it is clear that this kind of person is not ready for the risk of investing in Bitcoin. Direct advice to someone who's still unsure can backfire, so it's best to avoid it.
