Feels like I missed the times where you could make money and it wasn't mainstream...

Its better late and getting things right than arriving early and messing things up, all you may opt in for now is about learning, try to know and discover the aspect that is of interest to you in  bitcoin, then work more on how you could build yourself up and know more regarding that aspect, take your time because all of us also started like you, before you know it, you would have made it far in knowing more than how you started.

I don't know your circumstances or background, but spending a few hours searching for Bitcoin doesn't make you "ready" to dive into Bitcoin investment. Just think carefully about your decision. You have a decent amount of money, but if you spend it all on Bitcoin directly, you'll have nothing in your pocket, and when an emergency arises, you'll likely sell your assets. Confidence is good, but I feel like you're underestimating the risks, and if the market drops significantly, your psychology might suffer.

So, prepare yourself and consider the risks. My advice is to invest regularly using the DCA method and set aside an emergency fund to cover urgent needs. Hope that helps you.

I've spent many hours researching Bitcoin after work and think that I'm finally ready to get onboard.
Just wish I'd been born a few years earlier to jump in, but it is what it is.
Unfortunately, my father is completely against it. He thinks it's like gambling and only a waste of time/money. But maybe I can prove him wrong! 
 
I would love to move out from my parents as soon as possible. But rental prices are very high where we live, and there is usually a long waiting list.

Almost everyone that did not have the opportunity to start Bitcoin investment early all wish it had happened that way. Investing during that period would have been a great thing for them. Everyone wishes, if possible, to call back the early Bitcoin days and invest as much as possible.But the fact is that this is still a great opportunity for us to invest in Bitcoin or keep accumulating, so that in the future we should not regret it or wish we could get these days back when we are in the future and the price has gone much higher than this.

Now that your father is going against Bitcoin and sees it as a scam, and he does not want you to invest, you can still invest without telling him about your Bitcoin investment. Just keep accumulating with your discretionary funds, and gradually it will be very possible to accumulate a reasonable amount of Bitcoin.again, I will not advise that your father going against Bitcoin should be the reason why you want to leave the house and rent your own apartment. That would be a waste of money. You can use that money to invest in Bitcoin secretly.

Got my wallet and everything ready. Just hesitating because the price is so high compared to a few years back and I only have money equivalent to 0.55 Bitcoin.

Since you have that amount of money and you want to move out of your parents house. I feel there no need for you to pour all money into Bitcoin and because you might end up being broke later and this might force you to sell  your holdings early especially when some unexpected expenses come . Best thing is split that money into various portions, one for your rent and expenses,  and DCA funds. With DCA funds you can be gradually stacking Bitcoin regardless of the price little by little as long as you are consistent with it . So there nothing like price is too high, it just an excuses, as long as you have DCA funds you buy anytime.

My little advice to you is this – Don't be in a hurry to move out of your parents' house because you feel they're against you going into cryptos. The streets like they say is military and the crypto industry isn't child's play. It will make you doubt your sanity. Losses are a common thing here. Again, before you dive into cryptos; get the required knowledge and set skills for it. Otherwise, you will loss big time.

Confront the present and forget looking back at your past. Even as I type this, there are so many opportunities under our nose that we can't recognize now. No time is it too late to invest in Bitcoin.
