Getting Weird Messages on Telegram? Read This

I got this message from one of these scammers before, and immediately I replied to the hi they sent they were raining my DM with information concerning how my trading life has been, and I just have to ignore it because I'm not expecting a message about such thing from anyone that I know, and I just suspect it will be from those scammers.

I have also received similar pms recently and always block them directly without discussing too much. But I was wondering how they got my telegram account as I don't use it too much, just to follow updates in few channels. And even if they got my username from any source, how they came to know I am into cryptocurrencies. Not that the telegram account I am using is not the one associated with my forum profile username.

After reading this topic, I concluded that I am not the only one and that probably many forum users are targeted by those scammers. And yes the pattern of pms is almost the same so I guess it's a bot, not a human.

Out of every scam attack, telegram is the most popular. I don't receives DM from them because i don't join public groups except channels or private chats with any forum user, but if i see one, i will know. They use the same approach, most of them are not brilliant in a way i won't notice, moreover i don't welcome unsolicited DMs, what relationship do i have with a stranger, that he needs to offer me investment plan to invest in, the whole plot is boldy understood before the conversation goes further.

Fact is the easiest way to avoid hacks and scams is to know how these scammers work plus don't be greedy and don't trust people blindly.

The fact is that you cannot actually know how scammers actually operate because they are one of the smartest people, you will see them always updating their ways or method of approach which makes it very difficult for you to actually know their next moves and as such you can only just try avoid them and has you have rightly said it is always just the greedy one that’s fall victim most to them are easily looking for ways to actually get rich quick.

This is social engineering, being cautious online and avoiding anything that's too good to be true is something that will help one avoid becoming a victim. Scammers will always be innovative but these set of Scammers work through manipulation and as long as you don't trust them, it will be surprising to see you do their bidding. Trusting makes humans probe to manipulation and thus is why social engineering is currently the mostly dangerous scam. They come as one offering help and one eay way to gain full trust and get anything they request for is being a customer support and the victim thinking they are one will easily do their bidding and this is why I advise everyone to avoid public reporting of issues especially regarding finance and in any social media platforms that will cost you to get unnecessary DM's from scammers.

Just weird and hilarious. It’s the boldness of these scammers that never cease to amaze me. Well to save yourself such troubles in the future, there is settings in telegram in which you can prevent people who don’t have your number or not in your contact from sending you these types of messages and even adding you to a group. Be safe out there folks.

So better block them directly when receiving such messages from an unknown account.

True admins, community moderators don't PM any user in the community first. Only scammers, impersonators of admins/ moderators will send PMs first to community members.

One more red flag is, their messages in PMs usually quickly turn to welcome, hi, to something related to money, wallet's private key/ mnemonic seed, links to websites (phishing sites) and other things that potentially costs you loss of your account and money.

Sometimes scammers even pay you first 🤪 just to trap you later. Makes me wonder if you end up scamming a scammer, is that even a crime? Once I got about $8 in local currency and stopped replying after that. They kept pushing me to deposit a bigger amount so I could “earn” even more, just like the free money 😁

If you’ve joined some cryptocurrency groups you are going to get unsolicited messages at some point. I do not reply to anybody sending a one word message like “hi” or “hello”. I already know that 99.9% of them will end up wasting my time. These kinds of messages only come from either bots or scammers. If someone is a real user, they should get to the point of what they want to say or they will be ignored.

It's a work in progress, they do this to appear as a good soul who is either lost and trying to find their way or they are sent by their creator to help those who are lost and need ways to become successful, I can't even count how many times I have faced crazy people on telegram, most times I listened to what they have to say because I am bored.

Most of the time they will ask if I am no more investing in a project, they always know which groups I joined, and the question will be related to crypto investment, it doesn't always take too long for me to figure out that they have some evil plan in mind, too bad that many people are falling for this.

It is honestly so irritating as I read the chat. The scammer first sounded like an auto Bot that is just excited for catching a target after long not been caught any to hit up in stealing their funds.
So he texted you first and you responded and then he is responding like you hit em first just to drag your attention with an official manner and he even had to query your obligation for being in the platform.

I wonder why you did not ask him what he wants for writing to you first. Maybe that alone can even cut him off from coming closer because he will be begin to construct some suspicious excuses just to convince you. I hope no one will fall into such traps because I have encountered similar scenarios but it is always better to ignore such conversation because they could be deceptive and vulnerables especially newbies and greedy ones will always fall victim.

So for no reason crypto just have to come into the conversation? Obviously scammers with it old method but I am though sure that there are still users going to fall victim despite how common it is to identity it is a scam strategy.

Receive lots of random messages like this on telegram and most of them usually end up to good to be true profit from the programs they are promoting.

This move is is a classic scam but yet I think effective for newbies. That's why somehow its good to have post like this as awareness to avoid on such schemes, so same as you much better if they block them immediately and don't entertain any offers came from random people in telegram especially if they are the one message us first. So be careful then also don't grab any offers we see online especially on telegram since there are lots of impersonators and scammers in that platform.

Scammers do more damage because of the accessibility they might have towards you, hence they send you a message and you open conversation with them, they will find the need to convince you, so you could probably invest in their scheme or see reasons with them about what they are telling you.. just as the Bible will say, resist the devil and he will flee, that's how it works with scammers, hence you block them, that channel of communication seizes to exist.

No, fortunately. If I receiving that messages, I wouldn't bother to removes and blocks them. The word is trying to tempting us to join them and if you a greedy person, you will not takes too long to join them and send your funds to them.

Scammers will uses many ways to trick us so we needs to be careful when receives messages from strangers. We don't have to pay attention to them by read their offers.

We can gets into their trap without realizing it. The patterns are the same so we can at least identify the offers that is too good to be true.

That's pretty patient scammer. Asking things before doing their old stuff. Some are just pretty straight forward and plain. "Go here and registered and earn x100 **sends link". Or "please help me i'm a student from xxx school, my fund worth $$$$ were stuck here i need you to deposit this amount and will share my funds to you after withdrawal **sends link" Lmao

Lol, scammers change strategy often to what work best for them. They are aware that people are now becoming familiar with their old tricks and hardly fall for obsolete tricks like "click on this link for xxx" or "help me withdraw from xxx platform". They now appear with genuine intention and try to create a friendly relationship with their target before they hit the spot. That patient is part of strategy. I will never entertain conversation with strangers on telegram especially if they're bringing up conversations relating to crypto.
