I would like to separate Bitcoin from Crypto

I would love if governments could ban Crypto as they would be doing Bitcoin a favour by
disabling those distractions.

The time for banning Bitcoin has looong past, that time was in its infancy, Bitcoin now is
truly global, trying to get every government to implement some sort of ban is impossible.

There are way too many vested interests in Bitcoin now, everyone* knows the benefits.

And anyway I use my government as an example, they treat Bitcoin "investments" the same
as any other investment and apply 33% capital gains tax so they are benefitting from
us citizens being involved in Bitcoin - why the hell would they ban it?

I would like to separate Bitcoin from Crypto
Bitcoin is one of cryptocurrencies but Bitcoin is the first successful cryptocurrency while there are some cryptocurrencies created before Bitcoin. After the success of Bitcoin, there are many other cryptocurrencies created and they're called as alternate cryptocurrencies aka. altcoins.

Bitcoin is different than altcoins and should be separated from altcoins.

Governments can easily ban altcoins by arrest altcoin founders but they can not arrest the Bitcoin founder who is still unknown in 2026. In addition, Bitcoin blockchain and network are decentralized so that it won't be halted by any centralized decision or entity. It's possible with altcoin blockchains and with smart contracts, governments can make their legal orders to altcoin companies for freezing altcoins like stablecoins in your non custodial wallets.

Most governments want to control new technologies, but it's not easy to completely shut down technologies that are decentralized, meaning they can't be controlled. You mentioned that governments can make it difficult to use, close exchanges, keep banking separate, and introduce regulations, and these actions may create barriers to entry for ordinary users and small investors, but they can't be called destruction. Bitcoin or blockchain is not some kind of office that anyone can lock up. Permissionless power is the main strength of blockchain.

Whether we like it or not, the truth is that bitcoin remains crypto and is an important part of the industry. Separating them is impossible, and if the government want to ban crypto. They would even ban bitcoin first because it is the only thing they cannot control. The rest of the industry is not too difficult to handle because with adequate regulations, they will easily manage it

I do not think Bitcoin or crypto is too big to be banned, and if they wanted to, they could absolutely ban it. However, they will not do that because it would not bring any benefit.

Even if they ban it or close the exchange that can exchange bitcoin and crypto in their country, people will still find a way to buy and sell, as it is not illegal; the government really just wants to have control over it to monitor the money that can come in and not be used for illegal purposes. It can also be so that others cannot evade taxes. Many people use it to hide big money, especially politicians who are very corrupt in countries where they hide  their stolen money in the form of crypto, which is not a good example of its use.

As long as Trump supports it, the rest of the world will follow, and i think we will be fine.
Yup, good ol America doing something means most of the world will follow suit to keep up with the trend. Its not good for everything but for bitcoin can say it for now. Lets hope Trump does not start his own coin and tries to sell it to the world, that would be a big no-no from the crypto community.

For most of the common folk, just understand the fact that only thing that can stop one from using bitcoin is lack of electricity and lack of internet at the same time. You will not be able to access your wallets and send transactions.

Beyond that bitcoin is censorship-resistant and decentralized meaning that people cannot stop you from using it and no central body breaking down would do anything to bitcoin.

That’s why most countries focus on regulation instead of trying to erase crypto. Regulation gives them a way to control how exchanges work, how taxes apply, and how scams can be reduced, which is something the crypto space honestly needs.

If you want a clearer idea of how crypto rules work in real life, check this simple guide on where we break it down without the confusing legal talk.
Governments will never ban crypto entirely because they also benefit from the taxes generated. This is perhaps the reason why exchanges must have operating licenses in a country as this allows them to generate substantial tax revenue. Currently, more and more people are starting to open up to investing in crypto and indirectly, many people will use local exchanges for transactions which can significantly benefit the country from the taxes generated.

The reason I mention local exchanges is because each country has its own regulations regarding exchange rules, making people much more comfortable using local exchanges for their investment and other needs. I don't think the government will ever completely ban crypto.

The obvious truth people wouldn’t want to understand is that Bitcoin doesn’t depend on anyone and Government can’t stop Bitcoin, Bitcoin doesn’t depend on anyone, Government can’t only try to make Bitcoin favorable to them, like implementing some bans on Bitcoin, but stopping Bitcoin totally is absolutely not going to happen, because Bitcoin doesn’t depend solely upon anyone one to thrive, I keep hearing and reading what people are saying that Trump has influence on bitcoin and they say he can stop or do something about bitcoin but I think that is absolutely all lies, But I would only agree that bitcoin can be regulated by things happening around World most especially when there is news of war, and currently like we are hearing of possible Strike on Iran, and also news about Greenland, this are things that actually affects Bitcoin prices, I really don’t think any individual would have influence on Bitcoin, and no Government or anyone can stop Bitcoin.

The government can officially ban crypto if it wants, but they cannot control the use of crypto, crypto users will still use crypto. Bitcoin cannot be legally purchased in many countries, but crypto users in those countries bypass everything and use crypto. They also trade on crypto exchanges. By banning crypto, the government may be able to control the number of new crypto users by intimidating law enforcement, but it will have no effect on those who already use Bitcoin and will continue to use it. I hope that in the coming days, a new generation of smart people will come to govern the world, who know the importance of Bitcoin, and instead of banning crypto, they will continue to buy Bitcoin as their country's reserve.

A government can definitely make crypto difficult to use. They can block exchanges, stop banks from working with crypto platforms, and even make rules that scare businesses away. In some places, that already happens. But banning crypto fully is a different story, because crypto isn’t just one website or one company you can shut down. It’s a network. Bitcoin, for example, runs across the world on thousands of computers that don’t belong to one single owner.
There is nothing the government hasn't tried before now to frustrate Bitcoin investors, but despite everything, Bitcoin investors were still able to buy Bitcoin, sell Bitcoin, and also to hodl Bitcoin. The government went ahead in banning Bitcoin in banks and also restricted exchanges, but that didn't even affect Bitcoin.

The government has tried everything to stop Bitcoin, and it has come to the conclusion that if the government really had the capacity to stop Bitcoin, they would have done so in the early days of Bitcoin. However, it is so difficult for them that they don't even have any choice but to just accept Bitcoin. Nobody can control Bitcoin, and not even the government can do so.

Bitcoin in general isn’t tied down to one nation, multiple countries across the globe are actively participating in the blockchain revolution,so if a nation decides to ban bitcoin in their country it wouldn’t affect the blockchain ecosystem, especially when it’s not coming from a world’s leading power nation. Most governments haven’t openly declared a complete ban but their strict regulations towards bitcoin is chasing people from participating in the bitcoin market. In my own opinion, governments cannot stop bitcoin because it’s mining isn’t coming from one nation rather it is mined across different nations in the world.

Bitcoin and the government To discuss this issue, we must first review why a country's government does not want to legalize Bitcoin. A country's government never wants its economy to go out of government control or for the government to not control the economy. When people convert their money into Bitcoin, the country's government will not be able to control that person's economy if it wants to. In short, the government will lose control over how much money a country has and how much money a person can have. Because of which the government does not want Bitcoin to exist as a legal asset in its country, which is why they want to ban Bitcoin. But the most important thing is that Bitcoin will never be useless. No matter how much the government bans it, people will continue to accept it secretly because its network is spread all over the world. That is, Bitcoin will never run out.

The worst thing that a government can do is keep the capital gains tax, or rise it. Banning it would suffice for their short-term, but not for the long-term, as rich people would gradually leave the country and go on a crypto-friendlier government, and then the hostile government would collect lower taxes.

But, a capital gains tax still keeps most bitcoin holders hostage to their governments, as they can't spend their bitcoin directly to merchants, and makes them requiring the banking system to sell the bitcoin for fiat.

Your post is good but it does not make any sense, the same post is shared on another website. I can't confirm if you posted that or if this post was posted first there or here. The date is the same. But as far as I understand the forum rules, you cannot share plagiarized content.

You can end up with spamming trust from senior members who enjoy doing this. That means you won't be given a second chance, as far as I understand.

And no, crypto can't be stopped.

Mate, did you checked it before declaring it a plagiarized post? And you checked it then you did a great job. I would suggest you to add the report of plagrism at the source from where OP copied that data. Because seeing this kind of catch other users will appreciate your work in my point of view. So, i would suggest you to go ahead and make this move by sharing the whole report with us in this thread.

Other than this, there are some dedicated thread on this forum that are intentionally created on the idea where everyone one report these kind of cases to wash these kind of spamming and plagiarized post by giving them ban or a red tag. And if I have to share my personal opinion about the topic then i would say that it is not possible to stop crypto for now and think of it seems illogical especially for now where a lot of good developments, rules and regulations are being created or on the way.

I guess OP forgot to copy the link, because he said check out the guide but there is no link which makes it obvious that he simple copy pasted it from somewhere else.

And the government banning Bitcoin will look like this

Governments cannot stop cryptocurrency, had it been that they can do so, this could have been achieved by them long time ago, also, we have to understand more about bitcoin and why we can only rely on it as being a decentralized digital network, because the government cannot regulate on it and we are in control instead it's an independent currency anyone can use, now government themselves are taking measures to make things work for them as well with bitcoin, we are all familiar more with Bitcoin reserves from them trending now.
Even if the government can't completely shut down Bitcoin, it can still affect how people use it. Most people rely on exchanges and banks and that's where the government imposes control. As a result even if the network is free, it can be easy or difficult to use. Yet the real strength of Bitcoin is that it is permissionless, Anyone can put it in their wallet and use it. Perhaps this is why governments are now choosing to adapt rather than fight, Just looking at the discussion of Bitcoin reserves, it is clear that they are starting to realize that this is no longer something to ignore.

did you just copy paste this from an article? nothing wrong with that but maybe indicate next time that you copied this somewhere else and include the source material  Grin

anyway you are right some countries have tried before to ban bitcoin but since it’s basically unstoppable and banning it from their country only puts them in a disadvantage more than anything else so now they’re reversing their decisions

Alot of countries has tried banding crypto in the past and realized later that, there is no wisdom in banding crypto currency because it's overall effect on the economy is much. Just as you have said crypto is not restricted to only one country it's universal. Government all over the world is started to talking about adopting crypto currency because they know that there's much gain in adopting crypto rather than banding it. So government can't just come out to place a total band on crypto currency currently in the world we have moved past that state in the development of crypto currency.

Anyone with basic knowledge about cryptocurrencies and how they work would know that a government can't do anything with the networks of cryptocurrencies but they can only ban centralized platforms and operations that require their permission to run within the region, so the authority that manage telecom services in the country can ban them for those who are using those platform from within the region, but even then, people find ways to use those services either through VPNs, proxies, and other stuff that allow them to bypass or change their IP addresses.

And, no, cryptocurrencies or the crypto market doesn't actually need regulations, regulations are only useful for the governments to control everything happening in the space and they are not to protect people, they only put regulations so that they can gain at least some control over the industry because they know they can't control the networks, but they can at least control what they can which are centralized exchanges or custodial wallets, etc. Smiley
