There are many "silent killers" in our lives, and I don't think gambling is the main one. Poverty, a low starting point in life, and hopelessness often kill faster, harder, and more quietly than gambling. Ultimately, gambling addiction doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It always has a basis. Gamblers don't just want to get rich quick. They often see gambling as their only chance to rise in life and live their best life. Of course, most of these strategies and intentions are misguided and lead nowhere.

You will have to explain more how poverty has became a silent killer. If I may ask you, who are the people that are often diagnosed of kidney failure, cancers and other critical health problems? They are the rich people because they often lay their hands on something that will shorten their life span because they have the money to afford what they like and something that could kill them.
I don't see poverty as a silent killer when you compare it to gambling.

I think the description of a silent killer is incredibly accurate. After all, if a gambler has serious addiction problems, they'll initially remain silent about it, hiding their problems. But when their patience bubble bursts—such gamblers quickly run out of money—they'll begin to test their voice, but these will be requests for more money. And that's when the real trouble begins, because they're no longer the same person they once were, kind and sincere, but now they're a completely different person, someone who wants money at the cost of destroying any relationship, even with their closest friends and family.

After all, drunks and drug addicts are loud and rowdy, while uncontrollable gambling is a quiet addiction, where a person behaves calmly and quietly, seemingly normal, but their thoughts revolve around selling their property, getting into debt, and creating a thousand problems for themselves, which they won't be able to get out of on their own.
And this is sad, because their loved ones and family also suffer because of it, and that's why many psychologists rightly say that gamblers of this kind shouldn't be helped, as they won't appreciate it.

It’s unlikely that he will explain anything to you, since what you wrote shows that you cannot understand things at the level of 2x2=4. If the gambler keeps hiding his addiction, then addiction becomes deadly to the person, it is good not to hide your addiction so that you can be assisted with the right medication if not  it keeps getting worst because an addict will never accept that he his addicted which now makes it difficult for them to be taken care of by their family except the once that has gotten out of control, then makes it more easier for their loved ones to handle.
Addicts always lack funds since they have gambled with all they have which makes they always looking for where to get funds often.

Without a doubt, absolute certainty. I see addiction as something similar to a disease like hypertension, which often has no symptoms. But by the time a person realizes they are sick, it is already too late, and other problems have already appeared. The same thing happens with gambling. You do not realize you are completely addicted until you start replacing daily activities with gambling or stop doing things just to play. In other words, it begins to affect your daily life. That is when the person realizes they are addicted. And by then, it is already a point that is very hard to come back from. The damage is already done.

The mindset is wrong. I do believe that.

Some gamblers have the initial objective to win, and as they play the games in online gambling, they forget that it can become addictive. I have seen a friend who didn't even talk to us the whole night because he was too busy playing slots on his phone. I believe that's already a gambling addiction, and I also saw in his face how stressed he is with all that is happening. It could lead to mental vulnerability where a gambling addict will think about many things because he lost money that he cannot afford to lose.
