In my opinion you don't need to close it, you never know if some other good users might chim in with even more good suggestions as the ones already posted here.
Though OP is seeking for an opinion if he should lock the thread or not but i don't see any reason why OP should seek for anyone's opinion inasmuch as he is satisfied with the replies of users of which he has confirmed that he has gotten the answer he needed which means leaving the thread open will mean that OP will not pay attention to it again and it might also lead to spamming the thread with same replies.
Anyways as for OP, let me just chip in a little. You can invest the 1$ daily, it may not amount to a sizable amount in 10 years but it's better to be a low coiner than a no coiner. What ever you are able to accumulate, so far as it is in bitcoin, it has value in it so do not be discouraged.
