What is your goal? If the forum is affecting your morale this way, it's best to stop participating for a while. However, if you want to rank-up and join signature campaigns, that takes time and patience.
I was planning to give you +3 Merits to rank-up to the next rank, but your posting style suggests you have an alt account.

I would feel very weak, lose patience, and I would think that this platform might not be for me. Not because of jealousy or hatred, but because of a bad and incomplete feeling in myself, I could not be a regular here.
I respect everyone and please do not take my words badly. I do not know if I was able to explain my messy words to you. I also understand that there is a problem with my thinking, but what can I do?
Hey mate don't be too harsh on yourself, the forum is for all and we all do grow at different pace surely if you don't back down due to slow growth and seemingly stagnant growth along the way. Your growth doesn't come by how many times you post but base on your level of knowledge that carries quality in your post. If you think your level of knowledge is truly deserving beyond where you are in rank with how long you have being on the forum then you should try to be consistent, maybe in all the time you have being out of the forum put together you would have ranked above your current rank. Though it's not about numbers but quality, however, do a self examination of your post number right from 2023 you registered in the forum to 2026 you've made just 88 posts. What type of growth do you expect from such irregular contributions to the forum? Think about it, mate.

Nopes..we are different just like our skin color and regions. Mine is the opposite. When I came new here, I had the zeal to read old members post and how they got their merits. In fact, because you came to the forum before me and as a higher rank member motivates me that, if that person can achieve that rank, I can also do the same. It really helped me to learn more even though, I'm a slow learner.
People aren't born with the same knowledge, there are people that find reading so difficult there are also some who can read and won't comprehend what they have just read. When i first came here to the forum i didn't understand anything it was after some months i start understanding the environment, one thing that made grow was hard work, consistent and patience, i was also reading other people merited post to know why they got merited and also the decision of if Mr A can do this i can also do it that's all.

The reason for your backwardness was a point of competition and you weren't focusing to developed yourself instead you were living to start envying people who seems to have grown above you so quickly. Instead of you to start envying their rank why not just go through their post to learn what they have been doing all these while and also put them into practice for you to be able to grow like them. I could remembered then when was starting here, there were few users which I do go to their profile to learn what they post, and how I can also start posting like them and so kindly I am able to at least to make a little push above my expecting. Hence if you apply this technique it would really help you alot.

*Has this happened or is happening to anyone, or is it mainly my problem? * What can I do to get myself out of these thoughts?
That is where the question, " why am I even a member of bitcointalk" should come in. Alot of times people come into the forum with various intentions. The forum was designed as a place to share knowledge and discussion about bitcoin in general. But because of other advantages, most users would get so excited after hearing about them and register an account. This is why many newbies have failed to grow their ranks over the years. If you aren't ready to learn on bitcointalk and share your own experience, view and knowledge even in the smallest bit, then you will fall into this category.. the forum isn't as difficult as you think if you are open minded.. stop overthinking about other things, focus more on spending quality time on the forum..

I'm posting here because I know how you feel The forum can seem a little intimidating at first, mainly because it's been around for a long time and has many good users with experience in a wide range of areas, users who create tools for the forum, developers, designers, etc However, everyone was a newbie once. Everyone can contribute something to the forum One tip I can give you is to see if there is a local forum for your language or region where you live Local boards are a great place to start and get more help, as well as topics that may be more relevant to you

I have been on the forum for almost 2 years+ but not regularly. Even after being a regular for the first 1 year, I was frustrated. The reason was, when I would read a post, I would look at the profile of the post creator before reading it. I mean, I would pay attention to when he joined the forum, how much he was posting, how much he was qualified, and what he was qualified for in the post. And whenever I would see that he joined the forum much later than me but his talent was much greater, I would feel bad, feel like a failure, and get frustrated. My interest in reading the posts would decrease.
Instead of reading or understanding the posts, these things would come to my mind: How can they develop themselves so quickly? *Where are they studying, or what are they doing? *Why can’t I develop myself even after trying so hard? *What is wrong with me, or what am I missing?
I would feel very weak, lose patience, and I would think that this platform might not be for me. Not because of jealousy or hatred, but because of a bad and incomplete feeling in myself, I could not be a regular here.

I can feel what you are going through because I have noticed the same thing where I see some people who had joined this forum so many years after me yet are pretty good at posting. The only reason they are so good is because they have good knowledge about the topic and I believe they would have worked hard to gain that knowledge. There's one major difference in your thinking vs mine. You consider yourself failure after reading their posts but I feel motivated reading those posts. I feel that if such people can gain the knowledge and get merited for their good posts then what's stopping me from doing the same. So I start reading more and try to improvise my skill and knowledge and this strategy has made me learn so many things. I am thankful to all those people who joined after me and achieved higher ranks sooner because they have motivated me and I guess a lot more people to do the same.

Being a newcomer doesn't necessarily mean starting from scratch. In fact, there are many members from other Bitcoin forums out there. The most famous is the r/bitcoin subreddit, so they actually have superior preferences over the average newcomer. -snip- I would feel very weak, lose patience, and I would think that this platform might not be for me.
This forum is for everyone. If this is your learning curve, it's better to read extensively and ask specific questions than to give random tips you can't even validate. Yes, and yes. First, think that some members don't only come from other forums, but they can be even high ranked members' alt accounts. Every time I read a newbie who knows too much not only about Bitcoin, but about how this forum works, I tend to think that it must be an alt. Second, you don't need to prove anything to others, and you shouldn't compare yourself constantly with others either. If you think that some boards are too technical or high level and not for you, just get familiar with others that aren't so demanding, like Beginners & Help. Or if English is not your native language, which can complicate things at first, another good idea is to write in your local board and interact with people who share your culture, habits, the ways of expressing themselves, and that they may have suffered the same hardships as you.

you are not alone in fact every person in the world can have these types of feeling at some stage in their lives, it just shows you as a person that actually want to improve themselves. Forums can have these types of negative impact on individuals as they only show you the person at their best. to allow yourself to come away from these types of thoughts is to focus on yourself and except that this thought process is totally normal.

And whenever I would see that he joined the forum much later than me but his talent was much greater, I would feel bad, feel like a failure, and get frustrated. My interest in reading the posts would decrease. If I were you, then instead of feeling bad, I would follow them. And definitely I have done what I said earlier. When a post has drawn my attention, I have visited the profiles as well and tried to realise how they developed themselves. I tried to learn from them, and I have confidence that I can develop myself as well. At the end of the day I focused on contributing to the forum and am now at that stage. Instead of reading or understanding the posts, these things would come to my mind: How can they develop themselves so quickly? *Where are they studying, or what are they doing? They would learnt from the forum or out of the forum as well. It's matter of dedication. *Why can’t I develop myself even after trying so hard? *What is wrong with me, or what am I missing? Nothing wrong, but instead think positively your mind set a negative thoughts. Even you don't need try so hard, you just lead dedication to learn and contribute to the forum. I would feel very weak, lose patience, and I would think that this platform might not be for me. Not because of jealousy or hatred, but because of a bad and incomplete feeling in myself, I could not be a regular here. Feel it positively, convince yourself to learn about the forum and crypto as well. I must have patience, otherwise you can't succeed anywhere either on forum or outside forum. I respect everyone and please do not take my words badly. I do not know if I was able to explain my messy words to you. I also understand that there is a problem with my thinking, but what can I do? Focus to develop yourself, you have to do it and you can do. While reading the post, these things come to mind again and again. I cannot get myself out of them. *Is this normal? *Has this happened or is happening to anyone, or is it mainly my problem? * What can I do to get myself out of these thoughts?
This is normal, but you are taking it seriously. I don't know if it happens with anyone else, but at least not with me. You can simply come out from that; just focus on learning and following that user you like or you want to be like. So you can even overtake him some days. Don't lose hope, be patient and contribute to the forum. Ask your question or queries; we are here to help you.

It's good that you express your feelings so you don't carry that burden of disappointment alone. Alot of newbies actually feel this way, the only difference between you and them is that you've expressed your feelings in writing inorder to get some words of encouragement and moral support.
I will advice that you stop doing those things that make you feel like you are not doing enough for yourself. For now, you should stop going to people's profiles to study them for the wrong reasons. If you must make comparisons, learn something new from their profile, something you can use to improve your writing style. Your account won't grow if you leave this forum again, you will come back to meet it the way you left it. Be consistent and keep learning.

Being perfect is only in the book, but in reality, no one's perfect even if that person is the smartest and most intelligent in our eyes. So you don't have to worry if you think your knowledge and even skills are not as high with other members, there's always a time to learn in the forum and from other members experiences, that's the reason why being active in the forum is a must.
Jealousy has no room in the forum. You can be jealous for a while and that's acceptable, but loving it everyday while you're here in the forum will only pressure you to gain an edge from others, and for me having that mindset will never work in the forum.

Haven gone through the OPs thread, some other replies and quotes I must say, you have all spoken really well, your words of encouragement are inspiring I believe this will motivate the OP at least. I have grown to believe that everyone have their capabilities, and our knowledge or how we comprehend some certain things varies, we are all humans with different fates, what others never had any stress to achieve might be what can cost some people a whole lot to achieve in life, this is how life operate and the very way to keep going regardless is to concentrate on your lane, stop worrying while you are still behind but rather increase your pace, brace yourself and carry on. One of the dream killer is "comparison" the moment you start comparing yourself to others whom you think are doing better than you are is the moment you start losing hope and about to given up. With resilience, patient, and consistent you will get there!

Who are newbies in the forum will not spend time for reading posts but pay more attention on checking post history of other users. After joining the community, I was confused by so many posts about Bitcoin. Where to start, where to end, which one to read first, which one to read quickly, etc. I lost interest in reading my posts.
Lost his interest to read his own posts?

It's natural to sometimes feel like that, and you probably already know this but it is good to be reminded that people have different talents. And when it comes to learning various things, people learn some things easier while other things harder, that's because people have different talents.
The trick is to find your own talents and work on them instead of looking at what others are good at and losing hope that you are not as good as them. So maybe those people whom you see hit the ground running, so to speak, had a talent in learning about Bitcoin faster than others. You may have to spend more time and effort learning Bitcoin while those people spend more time and effort learning other stuff that you learn faster.

Actually, there was a time I felt the same way you’re feeling now, whenever I open a thread to read, first I’ll look at the rank of the person that posted it, if their rank is way higher than mine, I’ll be encouraged to read through, but when I open the profile and see that I registered into the forum before this person, I get disappointed and start asking my self what is it am I not doing that they’re doing also when I get a negative feedback from a member, I’ll feel maybe the forum wasn’t set out for someone like me. Recently, I got to understand that, even in life, every level you try to reach, there’s another devil on that level you should overcome. So instead of getting panic or frustrated, I put much effort to learn from those who are on here before me and those who have ranked above me, I don’t let their negative feedback get to me instead I learn from them.

I like your honesty. Truly it isn't easy to survive here in the forum. The forum can be very frustrating when you're focused on the progress of others and using it as a yardstick to evaluate your efficiency instead of your continuous learning and quality contributions.
The forum is big, you only need to find few areas that resonates well with you and focus 80% of your energies there and the other 20% of your energy on other places. With commitment to learning and consistency, you'll start giving quality contributions and you'll grow.
Stop measuring your success with those doing better than you, it only brings low self-esteem. No one would motivate you here on the forum, you'll be the one to motivate yourself until you've found your knowledge footing here and continue expanding on such knowledge to remain relevant.

Thank you for your view. What you said about speed of learning resonated with me at a deeper level, I've come to realize what I called "their fast development" may not necessarily be speed but rather an alignment with the required knowledge and skills, some people come to Bitcoin and the forum with a background, thinking pattern, and learning style that aligns with what is needed here, that allowed them to learn and contribute immediately, as such, it appears as though they're developing quickly, however, they're simply working within an area where their abilities are well-suited and their strengths are being utilized. My struggles were two-fold; first, I was trying to learn bitcoin, second, I was constantly assessing my ability based upon other people's profiles, which made my own motivation and focus very difficult to maintain. It took me time to understand that my comparison was actually preventing me from learning and making judgments about myself rather than developing an understanding of what I could learn. Your insight has given me a better sense of the problem isn't "why am I slower?" but instead "what is my unique area of strength in this regard, and how can I use those areas to grow." As the forum is not a race, but a very individualized environment for growth. I believe that most people face the same situation but they don't speak out, your post serves as a great reminder that everyone grows differently in this community, and the greatest growth will occur when we stop comparing ourselves to others and start building off of our unique strengths.

OP, I think you need to change your thinking and attitude. The date you joined the forum really doesn't mean much and doesn't mean that someone just started learning about crypto or bitcoin from that day, that's a complete misconception. We have very qualified people on this forum, even owners of very reputable crypto companies, and they already knew a lot about crypto topics before joining this forum, even those who have been members of this forum for years. You need to put things in perspective. Much more important than the date you joined this forum is personal experience in crypto and knowledge, gained independently of this forum.

There is nothing wrong with wanting being better.
But you shouldn't pump yourself down due it.
instead, focus on getting some results out of your own analysis and work.
You may never be like someone else - because you are you. And you shouldn't copy someone to be great and become better.
