Bitcoin is even yet to enter maturity, it is just growing. There is a chance in the future that another digital innovation becomes more interesting than bitcoins and bitcoin looses the attention it has now, but I do not think that that will be happening anytime soon. Bitcoin is going to mature into the what it was meant for, it is already passing through the phases of growth. Maybe some people think that bitcoin will fade soon or go out of trend and that is the reason they have not invested in it. I think those people are later going to be in regrets when bitcoin becomes bigger in like ten years time and they did not invest because of their misinformation and doubts.

There will be nothing like that to replace Bitcoin leading position in blockchain and cryptocurrency space. Bitcoin is not a first cryptocurrency has ever been created, though it is a first succesful one. It is the only decentralized cryptocurrency from developments to operations and it has maintained a strong network and its decentralization since 2009.

There are many altcoins try to be Bitcoin killers but they are centralized blockchains, and they have lower values than Bitcoin's. In addition, their network security is worse than Bitcoin network security. With time, Bitcoin leadership in this space will become bigger and more solid than now, so I don't imagine of any altcoins that can kill or completely take over a first position of Bitcoin.

I can acceptable many people worrying how drop bitcoin price recently after decline break above $97k and right now bitcoin dropping until $77k make many people worry and assumption bitcoin will fade away. Don't be blame many time bitcoin already large correction when the last halving time after success break out new ATH bitcoin dump drastically until $20k but success recovering back by hitting new ATH again above $125k.
Keep calm and accumulate bitcoin if you have free fund during price still drop believing bitcoin has moment will recovery back to higher price, don't be panic if you still hold bitcoin keep holding never try for selling at lower price.
Today bitcoin is lower price but believing next day or few months later has moment for bitcoin break, remember the holder is the winner exactly in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin for sure is not just going to disappear; it is still going to exist, no matter what happened, as long as computers are running.

I guess the question is its value, is it going to be still valuable after a long time, or are we just seeing a huge hype for years, we don't know what is going to be the future of Bitcoin, it might be worth a huge amount today, but in the future it might be the opposite even though we all believed that it is going to be even higher in the future we just can't say it accurately. Right now, Bitcoin is already a huge thing in cryptocurrency, and it is still the number one cryptocurrency out there. There are already a lot of copies of it, wanting to replicate Bitcoin's success but failing to copy it, until today, it is still the number one crypto.

For me, it just gets to the point where it has a very low chance of fading away because it is just so huge. Adaptation around the globe is already a thing, governments are already supporting it, and banks are adapting as well. it is just difficult to see how it is going to go down, Probably maybe war so something, but it is still growing at a fast rate, so I don't think it is going to drop it's value.

Blah blah, bitcoin is not a platform but a system comprising of different people working together for the better of the network. Even if one of those people gives up on the system, bitcoin will still function because there are more people ready to trust the network till the end of time.

Bitcoin is not fading. I know most people might want to talk about it's price when they hear about the word fading, but that's just it's rate pegged to another currency.. bitcoins value has outgrown many major assets or stock that existed before it.

I don't think anyone would be so foolish now to listen to some critics calling bitcoin scam. After all bitcoin did last year based of price and the countless ath, there's great potential for bitcoin in the coming years..

I don't understand the fade away you are talking about, but I know BTC will not live forever in the market. You sound like someone that is afraid to invest in BTC? BTC is the king in the market that will make you to earn want you want from the market if you are long time hodler. Telling you that BTC will not last forever it doesn't mean you should not invest in BTC, because there is benefits for those that will take the risk to invest in BTC and you will not regret if you can use reliable wallet to hodl.

Given enough time, everything and everybody eventually fades away. Bitcoin won’t be an exception. However, the chances of we are seeing it in our life time is quite small if you ask me. Also, bitcoin is experimental tech, if your life depends on the existence of btc, you are already doing it wrong. You should diversify into other assets as well. Bro, we are already out of that phase, but yea,h anything can happe,n and we might not get to realize it until it is there, but now governments and big companies with billions of dollars are investing in bitcoin so I doubt it is going anywhere.

If the government would be against it, or companies would not be investing in it, then the scenes would be a lot different, but even at that time I would say it is not going anywhere, although money same as bitcoins market cap can vanish in hours from gold and silver market but vanishing from here is a bit different.

Yes bitcoin has been around now for some time and gone from strength to strength especially in recent years. however recent weeks has shown us all when the going get tough globally and economical people don't have the trust in it being a stable invested. do i think it will fade away no i honestly don't but what i do believe is that it will take time to gain traction again once people see an improvement in global tensions.

A century from here means Bitcoin Bitcoin halving will be 100 years more, that's means we are getting 25 halving more, the supply would have been mined and few will be left. With such, Bitcoin should be trading above millions so the miners can average their buy cost else productive and revenue will be in conflicts and sad part of it is that 99% of users here will be not be there but Bitcoin is going to be active, better and perhaps political stability will be less significant like the way it's now.

I'm not sure if fade away is the right word OP should use in this context, relevant suit his description better than in my opinion. Saying Bitcoin is going to fade away is like expecting it to be forgotten which is unlikely. Billions worth of Bitcoin are bought and sold everyday, these are people's investment and hard sweet, such kind of momey can't be forgotten. A decade is very short for an industry history, and Bitcoin is still young compared to the precious metals market.  Bitcoin is still developing and propagating, so we won't see Bitcoin fading in the current situation of the Cryptocurrency industry.  Maybe it is better to talk about this when all Bitcoins are mined, and the reward system is dependent on the transaction fee so I think that it is too early to talk about the fading away of Bitcoin. So I guess we need to wait for more than a century before we can see whether Bitcoin will stay or fade away.

You've said your own question. It is not going to fade away, and it's there for us to keep invested.

It will only fade away when the whole global community it has got starts to dump it and when there are no longer volumes and people that keeps it alive.

So, with many of the FUD that have said before about its death. It has overcame that hard moment already and proven itself that it's here to stay.

When hashrate drops:

Blocks slow down.
Remaining miners earn more BTC per unit of hash.
Difficulty drops at next adjustment. (Every 2 weeks)
Mining becomes profitable again for remaining miners.

Nothing lasts forever in this world, and it's likely that in the distant future, something new and different will be created in the financial sector (perhaps it will be completely conceptually new, even against the backdrop of cryptocurrencies) that will "kill" bitcoin. But I don't think this will happen in our lifetimes. Bitcoin has already had a long historical run, proving its reliability and risk-free nature (despite being considered a risky asset), and it's also deeply integrated into the traditional financial system (investments by institutional investors and even countries). At this point, the disappearance of bitcoin seems almost impossible to me, as it would collapse the traditional financial system like a "house of cards".

well in as much as life is concerned nothing is permanent in this planet earth, and for that reason bitcoin is not exempted one day bitcoin may fade away if there if a new tech that beat the existent of bitcoin, that is if any will ever exist. but as for now currently nothing can make bitcoin fade away, because the program was established on a blockchain with highly coded program and its decentralize nature makes it unique and exceptional from other form of money. when you think of bitcoin fading away think of gold, diamond, silver and many other asset that have lasted for decades. if those asset have lasted without fading away then bitcoin can never fade away because it value and nature has beating all asset and will always stand out as the best. but though like said with the test of time, future will tell how far it will go since we are bound to changes.
