In the sense you mean it, there is no true "gambling guru". Anyone claiming that is probably selling something. Some people win more than others, but it's a mistake to call them gurus, they are math & strategy people...

You can be:

-Informed

But gambling is not a wisdom ladder where you eventually “figure it out.”

In my opinion, "gambling guru" is not a prophet, nor a winner every time. It's just someone who understands the game, and let's say behaves accordingly. And those who truly understand it usually stop believing in gurus/prophets/and all others who are selling fog.

There are gamblers that are comfortable with such a title just to impress others or be seen as better gamblers but in reality they also make mistakes and cannot get it right completely. i guess you could call someone who has lost a lot of money over the years a gambling guru or a losing guru. it's not really possible for the opposite to be true; i haven't seen anyone online who has been involved in gambling for years, made clearly good predictions, and consistently made money. so, to be a guru in gambling, you need to have lost a lot and gained a lot of experience in losing.

i think what you can get from a guru isn't just betting advice, but also advice about gambling and life. there are tons of people whose lives revolve around gambling, and i'm sure if you talk to one of them, you can learn a lot from their life stories. even if most of them haven't learned their lesson, they can still give you advice.

I confess that I've only heard the word "Guro" a lot in forex, trading, binary options, investing, business... but I don't hear anything like "sports betting guru." During my gambling days, I met many people, and yes, some won big while others lost, but most of them lost. As for those who won big, I don't think of them as role models, because their wins were also due to luck. I think calling it a guru is a complete misconception. Gambling costs a lot of money and no gambler can say that he has won enough money. But yes many have won the jackpot and their lives have changed. But everyone's fate is not the same, so small wins can never be mastered. This is what I usually encounter before when I enter on cryptocurrency scene since lots of scammers trying to fool us by introducing that they are expect on this field. But turns out they are not and they are just try to scam people by ponzi's and other scam offers they peddled to newbies.

So there's huge chance that same situations goes in gambling scene since maybe they are using that word to make it look like they are professionals. Then try to act smart then fool people that they can generate accurate winning results, then same situation they end up scamming those people get interest to grab their investment offers.

I will call anyone gambling guru as long as the money they put in casino is not upto 10% of what they deposited in a month. I don't know how other people are satisfied when it comes to gambling but if you are not losing all your money to casino then I can call you guru 100% without any problems. However, if you are making less of what you used to wagered money in the casino, then you are nothing but a loser in my opinion, I don't know for other people.

Furthermore, I will like to emphasize on the guru thing. Just because you won money from gambling doesn't make you a guru, there are plenty of gamblers that won gambling by luck. Some gamblers won because they copied a game from their friends, such people don't do anything but depend on another person to make bet and I can tell you such people make money all the time but I don't believe such people should be considered and call guru for any reason.

A guru is someone who has achieved a high level of skill. I don't think it's possible to achieve the rank of "guru" in a casino, as success in this field depends not on skill and ability (I admit that this partially plays a positive role), but on chance (luck and good fortune). That is, no matter how much time you invest and how valuable your skills are, it can all be ruined by a simple mishap when betting.

To be considered a "guru," I think it's enough for wins to outweigh losses so much that the "guru" doesn't have to borrow for subsequent bets. I think a "gambling guru" simply needs to be able to win consistently (if that's even possible), not necessarily huge sums, but at least at a sufficiently high level. That is, the ability to consistently win for years (I allow for temporary losses, but at the end of each year, the "guru" should be profitable).

Anyone who wins constantly irrespective of the amount he wins can be considered a gambling guru, because as a gambler you are expected to gamble according to what you can afford, and we all know that the size of your gambling amount will determine how much you are expected to win at the end of the day. But there are those who win bets more than 2 times in a month or more. I think the tile guru in gambling is misleading and it will end up making one to make mistakes because their is mo such thing as guru in gambling, it is a game that is unpredictable and everyone is just trying their best to make it. I know their are some people who are tying in gambling but this doesn't make them to be guru because those who even claim to be guru in gambling even lose so much in gambling . One thing about gambling if you want to be consistent in playing, just ready to see and accept lose in gambling.
