I often see rich business mogul say that “money can’t buy happiness.” That may be true for them, but for many ordinary people, money means something different.

In today’s economy, a lot of people struggle to make ends meet. Having enough income brings security and peace of mind. Less stress about money usually means a better quality of life.

So I wonder, is there a level of income where more money no longer improves happiness? Or are very wealthy people simply out of touch with how most people live?

*money cannot buy everything. It can’t bring back time or loved ones who are already gone. But it can change family stories in other ways.*
When they no longer have difficulty making money, or even when money comes to us without us having to work, then perhaps we or they will begin to think that money is not everything and that money cannot buy happiness. This is because something always becomes very valuable in our minds when it is unique, limited, or rare. However, when we have too much of something, it begins to feel less valuable. And sometimes it doesn't bring happiness at all. The same goes for rich people who think that way.
So everyone's circumstances are very different, so what brings happiness will also be very different.

'Money can't give us happiness' is a flase information that spread around the world by the ones who are not competent enough to make money so they can use this as an excuse. Money is mandatory and everyone knows that is the fact.

Rich people know how to use money while every salaried person use money without knowing how to use them, that is why rich is getting richer while remaining else are struggling to meet their ends.

I admire people who have acquired their wealth through legal means. I know quite a few of them, and they are mostly very capable people who value time, because as they say, "time is money" On the other hand, nowadays we see so many changes in society, where the "middle class" almost no longer exists, and there are only the poor and the rich. There are so many people who earn enormous amounts of money through illegal activities, amounts that an ordinary person can only dream of. I know from my own experience how much i try and work, yet i could never reach something like that.Of course, everyone finds their own way to get by as best they can. For some, a little is enough; others cannot make ends meet even if they have a lot of money. But one thing is certain, and i agree with it,money can definitely buy happiness, because everything revolves around it and our whole lives are spent chasing that one goal, and that goal is, in fact, money

I agree with you about the money cant buy happiness part. I do believe that there is a level that you reach where there is no more 'happiness' to chase. If a millionaire got another million its just another mill for him. For non-millionaires, obviously more money = more freedom etc. And i think most of the time when it comes to millions and billions, there is much power involved which (probably) is another reason to add about the ''happylife'' or not.

The rich must think and see money differently; that could be the exact reason you can hear that you need to be rich first in the mind before you become rich in life.

So I wonder, is there a level of income where more money no longer improves happiness? Or are very wealthy people simply out of touch with how most people live?
When getting money is no longer a problem, getting money will no longer be exciting. That is, you will no longer find happiness in the money you have after a while but will find happiness in relationships that you build with people, your family, and maybe friends.

I have not been rich, even though I don't beg but I don't consider myself a rich man, so I have to leverage on what people who have amassed wealth think in this regard. The wealthy people saya money can't buy happiness or make you happy, I don't have any reason to doubt them because that's the reality they found themselves. They have tested it and have found out that money can't get you happiness. So I believe that there's another aspect of life that you will only see when you are wealthy or rich. But I would rather be in that class than be a happy poor man. Because if you ask people like Elon musk to be poor so he would be happy, he won't accept that proposal. So if happiness is that important to them, why don't rich give up all their wealth so they will be happy?

Money doesn't buy happiness, i have heard this phrase several times and it comes mostly from those that are rich. The world isn't balanced, while the poor and average man thinks of making money to get the happiness they want and the man who is rich says money isn't everything or can't buy happiness but it's funny that they still hold on to it even after telling others all of that.

Of course, money doesn't bring happiness; you can still have money and feel sad sometimes. It can be sadness that doesn't relate to money at all. Your health, the people around you, family and friends, and nature can make you sad, and this is something that money can't completely control. However, having money is very important because I think it reduces sadness. If you don't have money, you will be even sadder, and money may even be the main reason why you are sad, because there will be many things that, with money, can easily be solved, but due to the absence of money, they remain unsolved.

Worries, lack of success and issues of life can ofcourse make people sad, but having enough money does not resolve the problems. The problems can be resolved even without having enough money. And not having problems means your mind will be at peace and you will be happy.

Just imagine having little to zero money but your environment is stable, no bad weather, no fear of wild animals attacking you, your land produces plenty, you hardly get sick, so you do not worry about future problems because you don't experience them. People often think money can buy all these, well I don't believe it can.. The most insecure people from my experience seem to be the rich. I see them feeling paranoid when they live close to the poor or travel to places with lots of poor people. The next thing gaint fences, security cameras, floodlights, etc start appearing around them as they fear being attacked or robbed. These are part of what make the mind restless and unhappy.  But if you go for days without experiencing any issue, you become calm and happy. Good future expectations even make you happier.

Ofcourse, the poor also experience problems. If this is the case, the question should be what is the common root cause of unhappiness for both poor and rich, the answer that I'm very sure about is doing the wrong things. If you do the right things  problems tend to go away or reduce to the bare minimum. Problems are most times rewards for doing wrongs.. If you know what can cause problems to others, just don't go it, and you will be at peace. This is why a CREATOR of the Universe and true religion are really important. It's the only way we know what is really wrong and avoid them.

It's important to note that lack of happiness can be a signal that something is not right and needs to be solved. Suppressing the signal with drugs, alcohol, nice foods, etc won't make the problem to go away. It's better to solve the problems first, or healthy alternatives/consumables should motivate or help you solve them

I would agree with you on that because when there's money you won't be worried about paying your bills but when there's no money once you noticed that the month is about to end then you start being worried on how to raise money so you could pay your house bills, so yeah having enough income brings security and peace of mind.

So I wonder, is there a level of income where more money no longer improves happiness? Or are very wealthy people simply out of touch with how most people live?

Well I think it depends, as for me I'm always happy with how things is going for me even though I don't have enough money but at least I don't lack anything.

The source of income is also an important factor when thinking about money, because clean money should at least provide good value that brings happiness, while dirty money often comes with stress of always looking over your back or having trust issues.
Rich people know that wealth follows a certain principle and that's why after attaining wealth status, they become less happier and aim for other forms of power of which if they can't achieve despite their wealth status, it makes them unhappy or sad.

When getting money is no longer a problem, getting money will no longer be exciting. That is, you will no longer find happiness in the money you have after a while but will find happiness in relationships that you build with people, your family, and maybe friends.

We need to have money in life for happiness because without money nobody will care for you. If you are empty pocket then no friend will like to meet you nor any relative will like to see you, its sad but bitter reality of life. Also if you don't have money then you can't provide your kids good food, education, shelter and other facilities of life.

We must struggle to have adequate money in life that is good enough for our family but we must not run after money at the cost of ignoring our kids and other loved one. In other words, we need to maintain balance between our struggle for money and time for our family.

This is the first time that I'm hearing that some rich people usually say that money can't buy happiness. Because in my life, all the riches that I come across always said that money is everything, which include happiness.

But from my perspective, money is not everything, in fact money is not enough. I know that money is very very important to us, because that's what we used to run our daily lives. Why I said money is not enough, is that, a lot of riches are sad, some are crying, some are regretting, while some might even commit suicide, do you know why all these are happening? Because they are going through a lot despite being wealthy. Some are struggling from severe or chronic diseases such as hypertensive crisis, stock (some parts of their bodies are paralysed), sickle cell disease, kidney disease, liver disease, Asthma, ulcer, and heart disease (heart attack). Some may have the money to eliminate the diseases if possible, but at the end they might end up loosing their lives or  their loved ones. At this stage some of them will be seeing or render their wealth useless, because it can't exchange their illness with health.

The fact is that, in every state or situation we find ourselves in life, we should forever be grateful to God, as long as we are healthy, and can move from one place to another. Sincerely speaking, in this life nothing beat health.

Somehow you don't need to be a business mogul to know that money has its limit in life happenings. The desire for money as a result of seeing it as every thing has made people do unthinkable only to realize that obvious reality of how money has its role in human life with obvious limitations. These doesn't mean in any way you limiting yourself, stopping self from creativity, it only means having a clear view of humanity entirely and control unnecessary quests in life.
When you have money and can't see it's limitations to the unseen areas of life like happiness, that means you are not analytical or not trustworthy by your not telling yourself and others the obvious reality of the limitations of money.

Extremely wealthy people, meaning those who don't have concerns like needing more money to buy a new product or increase their access to something, I think they start to see money as an end in itself. I say “I think” here because I can't understand what kind of mindset I would have without reaching that level.

What I mean is, I have hundreds of millions or a few billion dollars in the bank, and I don't care what's going on in the world or where I can spend my money. Because I already have access to everything. What matters to me is increasing those numbers because I can't have any other goal. I think that if you have everything, only something like that can satisfy you. How much wealth they have must be very important to them.

That's irrelevant. You can't mix these two things up, because those who make a lot of money or have a lot of money also say the same thing, take Elon Musk as an example because he recently tweeted about this thing. Imagine having a net worth of $840b+ and still agree that money can't buy happiness. For regular people like us, even $1m would change our lives forever because we are living lives where we are always chasing money but only manage to make enough to fulfill the basic needs of our lives, so for us, obviously, money is everything because when you are living a tough life, you feel like if you had a lot of money, you would have no problems at all.

However, it is not false to say that money can't buy happiness, because only the most luckiesst people on earth actually make money and also live a normal life; the majority of rich and wealthy people only live a fake life in front of us, showing off what they have, but we don't know anything about their personal lives, and when a wealthy person says or agrees with this quote that says money can't buy happiness, they probably are facing problems in life that can't be solved using money; loneliness and having no loved ones around could be the primary cause of it.

Happiness is subjective. Some see living a luxurious life as happiness, while others see good health as happiness. We all know what will make us happy, and unfortunately, money can't buy some.

In the soceity today, many rich people are suffering due to personal issues that money can't solve. If you ask them, they will agree to trade all the wealth they have acquired to find happiness.

Yes. Happiness is subjective and it can't be measured by wealth. It all depends on your own mindset when defining happiness. In my opinion, you won't be happy if you constantly pursue your desires. In other words happiness can be achieved when you stop being a slave to your own desires.

Happiness is relative and depends on each individual's perspective. Not everyone who has wealth is happy and vice versa. This doesn't mean you don't need money especially nowadays as everything requires money. So, money is still a factor but it's not the primary one. So, simply create your own happiness in your own way and version without following anyone else's standards.

For rich people, money is of a different kind, they use money as a means of earning money. That is, through investment, they always increase their acquired and accumulated wealth. When you keep earning more money, your busyness will increase and your leisure time will decrease. You cannot buy that time with money.

When you keep earning money, you will not have enough time to sleep, you cannot buy that sleep with money. Even if you have the ability to buy food, there is an obstacle in eating independently. Various kinds of problems are created, when you suffer from these problems, you will definitely not feel happy. Although money can increase purchasing power and global power, it cannot buy happiness.

I don't believe in those quote stand if I get the chance to have the position of been a wealthy person, I will advice you do everything to escape poverty because there is no joy in been a poor person. If you don't have money, you will not enjoy life, you get angry over small thing, you hate everything and everyone around you and you don't even want to see people that are happy. All this combined is a sign to get money so you can be happy for life.

All these talks you see rich men are talking, let them go broke for a week and see if what they are saying is real or just bunch of talk, that's when you see funny things and wish they never go broke again. They don't know how to adapt with old life because nobody actually enjoys poverty. There is nothing sweet when it comes to poverty that's why you see everyone try as much as possible to make that money. Don't let anyone lie to you that money doesn't brings happiness.

For a poor person, money is the key to all the happiness in the world. But for a person who owns a lot of money, money alone is not happiness. Many times we see many kinds of incidents and hear many kinds of conversations. Especially one incident that I have seen myself has proved to me that having money does not make you happy. I have a neighbor who owns a lot of money but his wife does not listen to him and is involved in bad things and his son is involved in drugs. He has a lot of money but he does not have family peace and he is not happy.

Well we would need a rich person control group to answer this question and I doubt that you are going to find rich volunteers to gather data for such a social-scientific venture here. Or at least, for the sake of their OPSEC I hope so. It is always unwise to divulge information about your financial wealth on the internet. That is just like painting a target on yourself for scammers.
