I completely agree! A casino without a license and without clear terms is already a huge red flag. Basically, it's a case of "trust us and deposit money," and that never ends well, does it?

A license isn't a guarantee of anything, but at least it shows there are some rules, audits, KYC, etc.

These opaque sites usually start by paying out, gain trust, and then freeze withdrawals or disappear.

Of course why would I even do that? Casino without license is already a risk and those who chose to follow such part may get disappointed thereafter because of how it will be. I don't think I have played on a casino that was not already licensed before I started using it because I usually play only on old reputable casinos and if it is a new casino, it must have obtained a licence because I also do not trust unlicensed casinos, they have a high chance to scam player compare to casinos that actually stressed themselves to pass the licensing criterias. It's not 100% certain that even a licensed casinos can not scam customers but it's more rare.

The fear of getting scammed is what has made many gamblers to go for licensed casinos over unlicensed in what could be said to be a decentralised platform which should be where any individual who admires privacy should be much interested in using for his gambling activities. Now we don't even get to see casinos that ain't licensed that are authorised to operate, almost all casinos now are centralized and people don't really care whether they ask for KYC or not.
