As soon as I saw Max crash I was like dammit he's in a perfect spot for risk factor too, but this is gonna be very interesting to tackle to every round it's not that bad at all.

Hey OP, I know we're in the early stages and we need to take it easy and recharge the batteries, but this F1 madness sounds like Max could become the new Bayern in every selection. So for future rounds, you could include that percentage graph of the users picking each driver. (Ty)

In short, Max leads the Tier 1 picks. The second pick is a tie between LEc and Rus. The others are more balanced.

I'm confident in my picks; the only thing is that I liked rookie Arvin Lindblad, but honestly I was looking for some variance in this first round, so I took a chance on Sainz.

I hope the Williams people have had time to go to the iPhone store and buy a battery that actually works.

I dont think we can have a new Bayer Munich here (only people from the other madness know what this means) because he is not so strong and plus lets see how much he can overtake in this new cars and regulations.

About picks, you know in this madness is nearby to impossible of being sure of anything, since if your driver made a magnificent qualy but made a shit race can destroy you.

It doesn't looks at all that Max can become Bayern of F1 madness. More likely it can be Russel. In qualifying Mercedes were miles ahead from other teams. Offcourse, you can't say this about whole season just after one qualifying session.
What I didn't liked at all that drivers even on their fast lap in qualifying have to think about saving battery. If I would like such things, I would watch Formula E

The things that they needed to figure out were how they wouldn't have failures in the car. If Max had gotten a good position in the qualifying, this would probably be a different race entirely. Imagine him being P20 to P6. It's something that Max and a Red Bull car can only do for now.

The cars seem to follow much easier each other and the gap that usually in Australia is very big was not the same between the 1st and 2nd car despite being the same car. I think that Mercedes has gotten clear the new regulations and I am afraid we are going to see a boring Championship once again, Ferrari is there yet not completely or not posing a threat to Mercedes, McLaren and Redbull are a bit further and the way battery is used by people is completely different, it is either winning you races or losing you races, I watched just to lap 18 then got bored and sleepy, it was 5 AM here from where I watch.

@darxiaomi you said you based those four tiers on last year's constructors standings. Are you sure? Wasn't McLaren first, Mercedes second? The choices for tier 1 were Verstappen, Norris, Piastri and Hadjar. But the four drivers of those two winning teams from last year are Russell, Antonelli, Norris and Piastri. I still can't understand how all of this is designed.

Anyway, probably going to learn more about F1 than ever this season since I am committed now.

So, the first race is over, and we have an initial trend, Mercedes is very strong and also has a good engine and powertrain, but Ferrari and Red Bull are close behind. It looks as if everyone has developed very well and, contrary to expectations, no manufacturer has a clear lead. Very good.

Sorry for dumb question but if Max didn't qualify does that mean he starts in last position? Because that's what I'm reading but I saw 7 cars didn't qualify so how did they decide who starts in last?

Actually good news for people who picked Max if I get this correctly because he can easily climb from 20 to maybe top 6. Big jump of bonus points right?

no , he will not start from the last postion ..he posted a out lap ..two driver that behind him Sainz & Stroll didn't even completed a out lap..he will start from P20 unless someone gets a grid penalty...i think you got confused looking at the official result i posted ..F1 did't post Q1 lap results in the pic & Bortoleto didn't post a lap in Q3. here let me make it easy  

Ya sorry I got really confused but I generally don't understand F1 much anyway, however now I look properly I understand that actually, from what I read usually if you don't qualify you start even from the pit but the rules showed that all these guys did well enough in the Practice session to start in P20

I have mixed feelings aboutthe race. At first it looks cool to see  so many overtakes, even after loosing position you can fight it back. But it's all about the battery and it's management - it has too big factor and now F1 starts to remind Formula E.
Mercedes advantage doesn't looks that big as it looked in qualifying. While Max did big thing again from the bottom to P6. But one thing doesn't changes - it's Ferrari strategy and how they didn't made free pitstop during VSC.
Not that much to wait until 2nd race - Chinese GP is upcoming weekend and we will have first sprint race of the season.

I've never watched Formula E and don't understand why you're saying this tournament now resembles F1. Oliver Bearman also criticized the new Formula 1 regulations today. I found an article where he said: "That’s not racing – that’s Formula E". To be honest, I don't see how F1 could be similar to Formula E now. Is it the number of overtakes or the battery management? If it’s not too much trouble, could you please clarify this?

Sorry for the long wait but in my part of the world the race end at 3.00 AM and i wake up very late and has so comprises after.
