I built
https://www.grahambell.io/ — a Proof-of-Work design where:
• Each node mines at exactly 1 hash per second
• Parallel mining does not increase throughput
• Hardware optimisation (ASIC/GPU/CPU) does not increase output
• Mining pools become ineffective
• Hash rate is bounded by protocol rules rather than hardware
The objective is to reduce hardware and capital driven centralisation pressures by enforcing uniform throughput at the consensus level.
There is a working demo and a browser-based client available:
(1) 6-minute demo explaining how mining is capped at 1 hash/sec per node (for now):

https://grahambell.io/mvp/Proof_of_Witness.htmlI’m assembling an early group of participants to stress-test the P2P version when released.
