Mate, there is hard science behind your word. If I talk about my family condition when my income increases, all of my family members happiness also increases, it is right. But the real problem is on our skyhigh desires and expectation. If you keep increasing your goals and are never satisfied, you will never have peace of mind even if your income increases

My feelings are that people who take control of their own happiness are more at peace. So instead of always chasing big goal, it is wise to be happy with what you have and focus on thing that are under your control. It make our mind light before the pocket become wealthy

I am not that much of a different person than I was 10+ years ago, and while ı understand people wanting more money, I would literally be accepting ANY offer that gives me 50% of my salary if it means I do not work anymore, I could retire with a lot less money and do nothing.

Yes I would be very poor, and yes if anything goes wrong in my life, I would need more money, but I have been so tired for the past five years that I think I am not going to be able to work like this until I am 65, I need to retire earlier somehow. Being yourself is one the greatest achievement ever in life. I know some people will failed to understand this, but you as a person, you know what is good and best for yourself, including your abilities, capabilities and creativity. No one is ever happy without money, you just have to learn how to tackle your desires by preventing extravagant spending, focus and prioritise your needs over your wants, and manage whatever you have at the moment, in other to make yourself relief, less emotion and promotes stability. Let's face it; being content is one thing, and being happily satisfied with everything is a different thing. When someone says that they are contented with whatever they have and they are happy with it, it doesn't actually mean that they have everything they need or want, but it means that they stay happy and don't let themselves get sad for things they don't have access to only because they don't have the necessary resources for it.

So what they could do, is they compromise, use something else instead, and still stay happy and contented, but this is not what being happily satisfied is, you can only be totally happy and satisfied when you have everything you need and you don't need to compromise on anything.

Money is an extreme necessity of today's world. One can't do anything if they don't have money, even if you live in the woods or in a place where you have food, water, shelter, and everything else, but at one point, you will still need money to get something or get treatment or whatever reason comes up. No matter where we live, no matter what we do, every single of us need money to survive, and if we want to stay happy, we need more money to survive and then stay happy, because if you have a limited amount, you can just survive, and you need more on top of that to stay happy.

I don't know if the person whom I am going to quote in my own words is really a millionaire or if it was just a bluff, but he said on Reddit that after making 1 to 3 million, your life is complete. Surely setting high goal could actually place folks under a whole lot of pressure, but then again I don't really think that the solution here is just for folks to avoid aiming high, No, No.. This goal most time can actually be broken down into smaller goal that may be very possible to achieve over an extended duration of time.. For example, someone who is a road side seller, I really don't see anything wrong if such an individual aim high, by hoping to have a big shopping mall oneday... Of course at the time he or she is aiming for that, he may not have enough resources in there account, but if that individual is intentional by trying to achieve that goal bit by bit, then anything is actually possible...He or She may even begin by maybe saving up the little profits realized and then from there who know something can happen and luckily progress can begin happening and one day such ambition may finally be realized...There is no harm is aiming high..

When you put much pressure on yourself just to become rich, you will face a lot of challenges and difficulties without being able to fulfill your dreams. Contentment promotes peace of mind, happiness never comes to those who doesn't appreciate what they already have, because they will always think of how they will become rich.

Like you said earlier, you said the desire to get more is the reason why some people strive for excellence, that's what they think, but the reality is that, it leads to frustration, stress, depression, mood disorder, and anxiety. Because you will never be able to rest or have peace of mind, chasing unrealistic expectations only increase the risk of mental health problems (mental disorder). When you are contented you will develop the ability to handle any opportunity appropriately without eagerness /willingness, letting your emotions to control or make decisions for you.
