How Did You First Learn About Bitcoin?

I can’t tell exactly when I got to know about bitcoin precisely. Although it should be between 2012-2014 I was hearing about it not really from my close palz though. But around 2015 while I was in the university a friend of mine bought some bitcoin that worth $3k I think that was when I got to know what bitcoin really was because he was balling and he told me he invested on bitcoin and he had gotten more money. but before then I was hearing about it from far I couldn’t understand what it was then.
As the year goes the love of bitcoin grew in me, and here I am In a forum like this today it’s all due to the love of bitcoin.

Information is power and is of light that shineth to those who value it, Bitcoin is one which through friend information makes me give attention after given some attention through search on social media and others information platform where crypto is display especially YouTube, where beginner level and knowledge of Bitcoin is advertise by social media influencer. But joining the forum broaden my knowledge and make me understand that Bitcoin is not quick to get rich but is capable of changing ones financial life through patient and consistent accumulating and holding for long time, as some information on social makes it more faster than what it's.

Information is truly powerful it can completely change how you see things when you pay attention to it but I first heard about bitcoin through friends and social media platforms a lot of influencers talk about crypto in the way that make it look like an easy and fast way to make money that was honestly what drew my interest at beginning but as I keep learning and join the forums where people share real experiences i being to understand the picture bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme it take patience understanding and consistency the real value comes from long term commitment not rushing in because of hype.
Sometimes social media make things look easy and faster than they really are but with time and proper knowledge you start to see that success with bitcoin is more about discipline than speed.

I heard of Bitcoin from a friend, and later saw it online. At first, I was not interested in it, and I never wanted to have anything to do with bitcoin, until I met an old time friend who happens to be a trader. My friend told me more about Bitcoin, that it is a digital money, and I can also trade it and make sure reasonable amount of money.

This part was what made me to pick interest in Bitcoin, and I bought my first Bitcoin. Normally I entered the Bitcoin market to trade, but I got focused along the line, and then ask my friend for help, he then say to me that, I should just hold it for sometime that the price will increase since I entered the market with wrong timing.

So I held the Bitcoin for sometime, and instead of the price to increase, the price keep decreasing dramatically. So because of that I then embark on researching more about Bitcoin, and later found out that, if you hold Bitcoin for long term,  at least 5 to 10 years or more  that you will make reasonable profit from it. Luckily, I was introduced to this forum, by my elder brother, And I learned everything I needed to know about Bitcoin, from reputable Members.

I know bitcoin because of my friend who played online gambling the site called bitdice.me that I remembered and he told me about faucet that give free money.

Long Story short I claim faucet and from that Im curious about Bitcoin and here we are Bitcoin is part of my life, and now im use crypto as daily work.

For me, it was before when I was finding on the internet how to make money online, and there's 1 gig I did, and somehow the payment salary from has "Bitcoin" option, that's the time I was curious because usually I am using I think Paypal that time, for USD payout and fees is extremely high, then the rest is history!

Different people have different stories on how they knew about Bitcoin, and how they started with Bitcoin. Nobody are the same with conditions and decisions over time in anything including their experience and pathway with Bitcoin.

heh, classic. same story as 2017 when the news went on and on about bitcoin being for criminals because of wannacry. got so tired of it, but my family actually asked me about it for the first time.

funnily enough that ransomware wave probably got more people to look at bitcoin than any whitepaper ever did.

messed up way to get people in but it works. i remember the forum debates, people were furious about the bad press while others just shrugged and said any attention is good.

we saw it with silk road before that and we'll see it again with whatever the next boogeyman is. the pattern's always the same -they attack what it's used for, never the protocol itself, 'cause they can't.

My first time of hearing about bitcoin was doing my undergraduate days but I ever picked interest in it because there was a popular misconception about bitcoin that it is a scam venture and anyone that invests into it will lose their money. Those days, I didn’t bother to want to even look into it because I was very skeptical about stuffs like that and was also studying. I first picked interest in bitcoin through a friend, we only became close after school. He was the one that told me what I needed to know about bitcoin and how it works. He also introduced me into this forum and everything I get to know and achieve from Bitcoin was all thanks to him and this great forum.

I heard about Bitcoin through my best friend the in-law to my in-law and I was convinced because he opened up to me that he has been into the Bitcoin stuff for a quite long time now,and he has been paying his bills and other things he needs through it, and I was so surprised that things of this kind exist and I have been looking for something to do to at least earn a living aside from my side hustle until he told me about this, and I also watched him and I find out that truly that is what he does and he is living very fine..

I hear about bitcoin from other people that I don't speak to them, but they always says things about it, and later on I don't know that my friend get some idea about bitcoin and is even investing in it and he later explain things to me gradually process and even put me through this forum and give me a link call learnmeabitcoin. And gradually I started getting some more knowledge about bitcoin and I get in to the system and I started investing in bitcoin investment, what I really understand more in investing in bitcoin the more you are focusing on it and investing that is how you will be getting more knowledge and experience on it. So investing is one of the things that can make you achieve your goals easily because he always bring profit and he just need patient and gradually your will get your profit.

I first used Bitcoin around 2015–2016, I don’t remember the exact year. At that time, I joined MMM Global. Does anyone remember it? It was basically a Ponzi scheme. We would “help” someone by sending BTC, and later we would get “helped” by someone else for around 130% of what we had sent.

Back then, I wasn’t using any crypto exchange yet. It was purely peer-to-peer. I stored my BTC in a blockchain.info wallet. Only sometime after that did I start using crypto exchanges to buy and sell.

But if I go even further back, I actually came across Bitcoin briefly in 2013 on a local online forum. At first, I thought it was some kind of MLM because I only read the title and a short introduction. I also remember reading another thread about people collecting free BTC. They were getting 0 something BTC, and I thought that was such a tiny amount. I assumed it would take forever to sell because I believed BTC could only be transacted in whole numbers, not in decimal fractions.

Information about bitcoin reached me for quite some time, mostly through the information background. I'd seen articles and discussions about bitcoin here and there, but I always thought it was too late to invest in it.

What prompted me to learn more about bitcoin? Initially, of course, the price. That is, how rapidly this asset rose in price. But subsequently, especially after receiving information on this forum, the speculative element faded into the background.

Now the username will force you to remember what you have missed sorry but I know you must have developed the patience to deal with it now, because most of us had very good opportunities but many of us did not utilized them, we all thought the prices are high, and now we should wait for the dip and still even in 2026 many of the later comers joining now think that they are late, they should not invest now.

I learned about Bitcoin from a friend, who at the time saw many of my friends profiting from crypto. However, I wasn't immediately interested because I was still afraid, thinking it was just a fad. But then, I started researching on my own through the internet and Telegram groups which made me more open to learning more about crypto which ultimately led me to this forum.

After discovering this forum, I became even more enthusiastic about exploring and wanting to learn more about cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin. Honestly, I feel a bit regretful for not immediately learning about Bitcoin when my friend introduced it. It wasn't until several months after my friend introduced me to Bitcoin that I learned about it. But I know it's never too late to invest in Bitcoin and I believe that late is better than never.

Each of us have our own circumstances on how we learned about Bitcoin. Some came across Bitcoin online where others learned about it through a friend or family members. As for me, I know about it because of my brother in law and I think he knows about Bitcoin because of his friends at work. I started learning about Bitcoin on 2018 but I didn't focus much around Bitcoin because during that time is that it was the time of ICO which I joined before.
