One thing comes to mind after reading your post and that's "discipline". You know the negative side of gambling and how it has only affected your finances negatively but you still choose to keep trying to win back what you lost but rather lost everything in the process. There was a certain time I was struggling with discipline on my gambling habit as it cost me a lot of money but I could overcome it with better coordination, setting a target and improved spending habits.
That’s right, this is a very common outcome when a gambler lacks discipline and self control. It becomes very easy to let go off losses, chasing it becomes the only option, and on the process resort to even more losses thereby defeating the sole purpose of actually embarking on such quest in the first place. And this is exactly what happens when gamblers gamble with money they can’t afford to lose or money meant for something else, because if it were money that was discretionary, then letting go wouldn’t be so hard.
It is just about lack of discipline, even if the gamblers play with amounts that are discretionary, without proper discipline they would go the extra mile and use money means for their sustenance to follow up and chase their losses. It is discipline that would enable you to stop after your budget has been used up. There is always the urge to continue gambling as long as you've funds left but you've got to refrain from yearning to those dangerous emotional drive and hang on to your already established principles of responsible gambling.

I have been gambling for the past ten years now and seriously I must say I have lost more than I have profited thou it feels as if I should keep on trying so I can recover back my losses but that's the more money I keep on losing sometimes I will delete the app to free myself from it then during the week ends my friends will show me some nice games asking if I have interest in it then the spirit comes and I will download back the app and I will go back to what has been eating me up is so addicting that I called the app my daily food.
Some persons out there might be facing the same situation and it is affecting there state of mind and how they live there life's the fact is to just let go you can't recover those losses is gone just accept defeat and move on though is hard but you have to that's what I did

Do you complain when you spent money by watching movies , Goes to amusement park , goes to a tourist place  or watching your favourite teams game? No you're not cause you're doing it for your entertainment. You should consider gambling like this. It doesn't matter if you lose or win , just maintain your Bankroll. So that loses ain't effect you much.

It's nothing wrong, even you gamble daily it should not exceed your limit. By controlling your funds management do gambling as much as you can.

I never gamble to cover my previous losses. I deal every session of my gambling as new, fres.

This is the truth: gamblers will only change when they are already facing a financial crisis.

This is when the person hasn't yet become ill (addicted). When the person is in their right mind and in good mental health, they can see that if they continue gambling, they will sink even further, and therefore they can stop gambling early. But when they are ill (addicted), they won't stop; they will sell everything, take out loans, steal to continue gambling. Only if they are arrested, admitted to a rehabilitation clinic, or die will they stop gambling.
yes you are right, it is very hard for a chronic addict that is addicted to gambling to stop gambling because of financial crisis. There is one funny thing about addiction, those that are addicted do not used to see how it is destroying them within. Infact it is very hard for an addict to notice that they are addicted to gambling. When an addicted gambler noticed that they are facing financial crisis as a result of gambling then that the first step to there liberation

Such addicted gamblers don't give themselves any excuses; they press the button to ease the pain of losing, even willing to lend money, but in doing so, they dig themselves into an even deeper hole than before. I've experienced such feelings, and I never want to repeat them again; I'm glad I managed to stop.

It's not always easy but if you are determined and willing to stop yourself from being controlled by your emotions then it would be easy abit for you.. most people find themselves trapped in situations of addiction due to how they see gambling. It's never supposed to be seen as a means of making money, but a means of fun. Theres no fun in losing, that's why you should never let emotions control you. If you lose control of your self, you would not make more profits but end up in bigger losses than you had expected. The earlier you realise that you are falling into the path of addiction the better for you so you can start working towards control...

I still understand what addiction can do to gamblers because I have read and watched many videos of them sharing their journey with gambling. Of course, it’s better not to watch such videos if you are impressionable, because money addicted players lose almost everything they can get their hands on, it’s worse than it seems. In any case, such videos about the stories of addicted gamblers inspire me with confidence that this should never be repeated. To be honest, I would never completely relax in the game, because at any moment we may want to do it more than usual, this is that terrible step, do not allow yourself to do it.

You can already see that you are not doing well when it comes to gambling. I think you need to see that gambling was just not for you, and it wasn't worth it anymore to gamble or recover your losses. There wasn't really anything to gain anymore since you already lose, the thing is, we have this kind of pride or ego that we just hate losing or just giving up. It is just doesn't feel right when we do give up on things and we feel that we are not doing the right thing. It is okay to give it up. There are just things that aren't for you, and it's normal your not going to be good at everything. You need to focus on other things that you are good at.

Also, your friend is obviously not a great influence on you, in my opinion, pick the right friend. Gambling wasn't a good influence, maybe you could try other things that you might be lucky with, like trading or something else. I mean, you already lose a lot. Stop chasing those losses because it is just going to be a deeper hole. Gambling wasn't something that you want to keep up doing until you win.

I would never completely relax in the game, because at any moment we may want to do it more than usual, this is that terrible step, do not allow yourself to do it.

An addicted gambler can lose everything in a short time. If the gambler cannot control himself from the beginning, then he will definitely lose everything. Normally, we often try to bet on some bets with a small amount at one stage of gambling. If we lose, we try to bet a little more there again. In this way, when our losses are very high, at one stage we can no longer control ourselves. One should definitely keep one's mentality strong while gambling. One should definitely take care not to get addicted to gambling for a small reason. A little carelessness can be the cause of a gambler's huge losses. An addicted gambler may start out very simply, but it can lead to disaster later.

Whether it is hard, you need to accept that recovering the lost funds is not easy and you can lose more in that process, so accept that and move on with your losses if you care about your future. Because I remember similar stories when users who started small and over the time they ended up with millions in debts and some even took their life because they don't know any way out, get out while you can is my suggestion for you.

Some persons out there might be facing the same situation and it is affecting there state of mind and how they live there life's the fact is to just let go you can't recover those losses is gone just accept defeat and move on though is hard but you have to that's what I did
Humans are endocrine and exocrine beings; it's very possible that you experienced a great stimulus from betting and winning. Your stimulus is the act of betting itself. Each person has a different stimulus; some benefit from it, others don't. I'm not recommending anything; it's obvious you either win or you lose.

Gambling addiction affects different areas of a persons life, it isn't just financially but also mentally and emotionally as well. Those Addicted to gambling cannot be productive in life because their whole mind is stuck on gambling. Pne misconception some Addicted gamblers have is that recovering from gambling addiction is impossible but this is not true, it is a slow process but possible to achieve.

I am just interested to know why it is difficult for you to say NO to gambling even after the numerous losses. For someone like me, if I am seen losing so much, I will quit for the sake of my mental health. Do you have a job? Are you battling any issue that makes you so fixed on gambling? It this is the case, you should address your issues from the root. If you feel you are already addicted, go seek professional help. Talk to families and friends because they are all you need right now.
I think those who have been addicted before just like me quit gambling because we don't have money. What I mean is that I lose my job and my side hustle, and so the financial source was shutdown in front of me and so I just quit gambling like that. So maybe that is the reason that maybe the OP can sustained that incredible run of being addicted or playing at least 10 years straight. Is that he had a good job or maybe a business that keeps the money flowing on him. Just maybe, if everything stops, he might have to think his life over and then just stop gambling because he don't have the capital to continue. In any case though, with capital or good flow of money, if someone knows that he is falling into the trap of being addicted, then he should stop for mental and financial health.
People are different. There are some gambling addicts that do not have jobs of their own, yet they gamble everyday. Most of them get their money from begging from loved ones, stealing and selling off valuable properties. If OP finds himself in this situation, then he needs serious professional help. Even now that he is losing consistently yet can't quit, I still think he needs to talk to a professional who will guide him on how to be free from his addiction.  Addiction can be mentally draining. Imagine someone who who is consistently losing money, yet can't say no to that one thing that brings him so much pain.

Thats gambling addiction. If you are gambling and you losing continuously, one of the mistake which you going to make is you trying to win back your loss. If you are gambling and you experiencing continuous loss, then just leave gambling for that moment, because if you continue gambling, then you just going to keep on losing, and you going to get addicted to gambling.

Seriously your case is so critical right now and I don’t know how you going to stop addiction, but firstly I will recommend you stay away from that your friend, I will say thats the first step which you are suppose to take, because if you are close to him, you going to be seeing him and he will be encouraging you to continue gambling, that’s why you need to stay away from him.

Also stay away from gambling, get something doing, make sure you always busy so that you won’t really be thinking about gambling, when you are alone, and you have nothing doing, you might decide to continue gambling, so keep yourself busy.

In first place you are not suppose to delete your betting app that where you made it difficult by yourself because there is no how you would gamble without losing, that is what is part of the game because deleting your app shows that you are gambling only for the money and not for the fun. Sometimes I don't know why most gamblers normally forget to take a break when you are not getting it correctly because had it been you do this in first place you would have not heard much losses and you would have not thought of deleting your app because you would have want to leave it for fun when you have free time, than for you to keep installing it all the time and still lose more and more.

I don`t know how to live with addiction. But i think that rules are the same for all kinds.
First of all you need to stop. Stop and think. The best situation if you have friends, family - someone, who can hear you, give some advice and support you.
After it you must develop a plan/strategy how to change your life, how to solve problems you have due to addiction. And step by step change yourself.
Easy to say, hard to do.
Its alway easier in the saying, than in the doing, especially in the case of an addiction.

A little consistent discipline after a couple of attempts would help trigger the brain to sense a form of danger when gambling and build the mind to accept losses and move on.

Moving on is one of the hardest things to do in gambling, because it gives a form of hope at any point in time. That alone excites the brain to keep going and harder to accept losses.

I've read many posts like this before, and it's easy to say; "You need discipline" or "You need to walk away." However, I think someone in the OP's position needs a professional doctor and medication (maybe even an intervention). But how can we know for sure?

We've read these stories many times here, and while this one sounds real, that's not the point. I believe the main red flag is the phrase 'wanting to recoup losses.' That is the beginning of the end. What I'm writing isn't for those who are already ill, as the OP might be. There is a clear difference between being a gambling addict and just going through a rough patch. A disciplined gambler understands a losing streak; a compulsive gambler chases losses.

Some persons out there might be facing the same situation and it is affecting there state of mind and how they live there life's the fact is to just let go you can't recover those losses is gone just accept defeat and move on though is hard but you have to that's what I did

The fact is, no gambler has ever recovered all their losses; they may recover half of their losses, but their greediness will make them continue playing in the hope of recovering their loses and in the end, they will lose their winnings and their losses increases that will make it impossible to recover because of how huge the amount has accumulated over time.
It's a bad motivation or plan to think that you can try to recover your losses, no one has done it, many have tried and all failed and they failed miserably.

Everyone who gambles has certainly experienced losses and wins, and yes, of course, the number of losses is definitely greater than the number of wins. And even though occasionally winning can be said to recover losses, it will never completely cover all the losses incurred. And with greed, it is highly likely that all gamblers have experienced it, so they will continue to play even though they have suffered many losses or defeats and even though they know the chances of losing are high, they still continue to do so. That is the drive of greed.

Firstly, you need to stop gambling entirely and avoid seeing your friend during the weekends because he's like a temptation to you which triggers your gambling spirit. Learn to say NO to him whenever, he tells you about the weekend games. Tell him about your losses and your plan to stop gambling.

Ten years of gambling is enough to go on a break. Gambling is done for fun which is why you should only gamble with the amount of money that you can afford to lose and stop the game after you have exhausted your gambling budget for the day.
I don't think learning how to say NO would really help him, he needs some level of abstinence both from gambling and those his friends that lures him back into gambling. From his writeup it is obvious he cannot control how he gambles and he just needs to stop.

OP some results needs some personal sacrifices to be made for it and from my perspective, these friends are the sacrifice you would make to boost your recovery speed from addiction, avoid them for now if you can. It is better having no friends than keeping those that lead you astray.
surely you have spoken well because I think leaving this my fellow gambling friends will really help me if I really want to stop this torment
