There is only one threat to bitcoin, that is the centralized government, but until now they haven't gain success on destroying bitcoin. That made me reach with a conclusion that bitcoin is indestructible and unbreakable, and that even Satoshi will no longer be capable to ruin his own creation.

However, let's not focus on who can destroy bitcoin but instead, let's be resourceful on how to promote bitcoin so that global adoption will be finally achieved.

Centralized governments or centralized authorities have never been a threat to Bitcoin, but Bitcoin has been a threat to them, which is why they have been restless since the beginning of Bitcoin's popularity because they knew it can create problems for them, especially for banking systems because the governments have total control over the centralized financial systems, but they could never have the same level of access to Bitcoin, or have any sort of access to it because everything is decentralized and available online, no one can gain control on the system at all because it doesn't exist.

So it's true that Bitcoin is indestructible, and it cannot be destroyed by any force, even if all the miners stop their operations, and all the people stop using Bitcoin completely and markets have no users no orders at all, even then, Bitcoin will still exist, it won't be destroyed, but transactions won't go through until miners start their operations again. However, we all know that is never going to happen, the world is never going to stop using Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies anymore, even if countries ban them, people will still find a way to keep using them.

And how can this thought be understood and applied to reality? Of course Bitcoin won't cease existing, but as things go more and more centralized each new day, empowering and giving control to the groups who have been ruling this world since always, Satoshi can compromise Bitcoin's credibility, by for an example, dumping all his coins on the market at once.
Let's assume he has access to the wallet and the said Satoshi is alive. There are some bitcoins which are unspendable, which are the bitcoins mined from the genesis block. If he decides to sell every other one, the market will be affected, but that won't kill bitcoin. Trust will only start to be broken if we see the 50 bitcoins which were said not to be spendable actually be spent; then there might be a problem, as doubt will start circulating. Aside from that, I don't see much effect which the name can have.

At this very moment, destroying bitcoin means also means destroying the internet. Destroying a decentralized network run by people all over the world is too hard to get destroyed. Even those torrent that was attempted to shutdown by the government before due to piracy, they failed for the same reason. If you talk price getting dump means bitcoin will be destroyed as well, you have to think all cex ban bitcoin is the only reason for that.

We know that Bitcoin is a completely decentralized currency where no third party can control it. So if it has to be destroyed, then of course it cannot be destroyed by any third party, but if it has to be destroyed, then of course Satoshi himself will bring something bad to Bitcoin. Governments of different countries, central banks, some unwanted wars in the world may be temporarily affected for Bitcoin but can destroy it. Even if the proposed quantum computer is a threat to Bitcoin, it cannot destroy Bitcoin.

How could Satoshi destroy Bitcoin? Satoshi intentionally created Bitcoin with a decentralized system, allowing anyone to participate as a node to support the Bitcoin network. So, Bitcoin is not privately owned, but publicly owned, meaning no one can control it and no one can destroy it. So, how could Satoshi destroy Bitcoin? I think there is a "missing link" if someone thinks Bitcoin can be destroyed. It is difficult to control Bitcoin, let alone destroy it, I think it is impossible.

By the way, my personal answer to what could destroy Bitcoin is, a complete destruction of the Earth, eliminating all computers in the world. Well, I don't know if that will happen or not, but it could happen, as  it is said to have happened before, namely the asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs.

Governments of different countries, central banks, some unwanted wars in the world may be temporarily affected for Bitcoin but can destroy it. Even if the proposed quantum computer is a threat to Bitcoin, it cannot destroy Bitcoin.
They can destroy specific areas but to eradicate bitcoin, they need to annihilate almost everything in this world. For as long as there are satellites, there are computers, asics, etc. Focusing on one land area mass where they'll destroy it won't be enough. The network of bitcoin is a global operation where its supported by the community where the governments don't have an idea on who they are. And that's why it's very unlikely for them to destroy it because doing so is also going to damage their assets.

For this reason, no one can destroy Bitcoin, if Bitcoin is destroyed, the world will become extinct and so will the activities of human life.

No one can destroy Bitcoin because it is open source and operated by a decentralized global network. However, do not hype up Bitcoin too much.

It is not the sole foundation of the world and all human activity. Bitcoin is just one financial system and only a small part of this world, and it has only been around for less than two decades. Therefore, if it were destroyed and disappeared, this would seriously affect the financial situation of many people. But its death will not cause the world to go extinct.  Cheesy  Cheesy

Yeah you are correct, I keep telling people that not even the bitcoin creator Satoshi can destroy bitcoin. bitcoin is a decentralized coin, and it is impossible for anyone to destroy government in the past has tried to destroy bitcoin because they saw it as a threat to the economy and the currency, but it never worked for them and they decided to accept bitcoin and work with bitcoin in order for them to benefits form it, some nations or countries are now investing in bitcoin, because they have realize the benefits of accumulating, bitcoin, and holding for a very long time and now doing it. I will keep coming to this thread to tell everyone one that bitcoin is indestructible. Cleanslate_  you are a newbie and you already know bitcoin can’t be destroyed and that a good way to go.

Bitcoin cannot be destroyed, this is the fact everyone must know, secondly the network cannot be altered because it is decentralized, thirdly, you should not even think of quantum computing and other improved AI innovative as a threats to bitcoin network, several topics have been discussed on this aspect and we know that we don't have to contribute much on causing fear to users, because bitcoin network is secured.

It can altered if consensus will be found or the bigger part of the network would want to do so, but in easy terms - it's pretty hard Cool

Many have already tried and many have already claimed Bitcoin was going to be destroyed at some moment, but it has never happened for real.
Today we can see, humans are destroying themselves. War is currently in several countries, and that is destruction. This shows once again how stupid humans are when they act in groups. An lonly/only human being can be very clever (Satoshi), but unfortunately this cleverness does not multiply with the number of people. Greed is stronger and destroys many things.

Bitcoin will continue to exist as long as people believe in it and keep the network alive with their hashpower, nodes, and transactions.

Bitcoin is based on decentralization, so it is not possible for it to end or come under the control of a single institution, nor is it dependent on any government bank or company, but it is running on a network of the entire world. In every cycle people say that everything is over now, but time proves how strong it is. We have all seen that Bitcoin started its journey from one dollar to thousands of dollars and the more times it was called dead, the more times it came back stronger than before. Therefore Bitcoin is not a network of one person, but of the entire world and as long as decentralization is alive, its future will also be alive.

If it comes to destroying Bitcoin, I would say that the one who created it can destroy it. And if I also say that if the one who created it is no longer alive on earth, then I think no one else on earth can destroy it.
Governments of different countries around the world may have a temporary negative impact on the market. Two days ago, America and Israel jointly attacked Iran, from where Bitcoin was seen bringing in $63,000, meaning that the marketing may have a temporary negative impact, but no country's government has the power to completely destroy Bitcoin.

I even doubt that Satoshi could do it because regardless of whether Satoshi exists or not, Bitcoin continues to operate as it is today, and it would not have a significant impact even if Satoshi were to be revealed as an example. There would certainly be an impact, but it would not be possible for it to collapse because even Satoshi, as the creator, would not be able to stop Bitcoin.

The impact is only based on the existing market, but Satoshi does not have the power to destroy it because Bitcoin will remain Bitcoin, which cannot be tampered with because its purpose has been there since the beginning.
Therefore, the most logical conclusion here is that no one can completely destroy Bitcoin. In terms of price movements, anyone could potentially manipulate it in the short term, but for more significant damage, I doubt that would be possible.

Governments can ban exchanges, restrict miners, or make regulations hostile. That can hurt adoption and price. But to actually destroy Bitcoin, they would have to shut down the internet globally and try to stop every node everywhere.

As I mentioned above. Although Satoshi created Bitcoin, he handed over control and development of it to the community. This means he is the founder but does not hold a leadership role or have the right to independently intervene in the network. In other words, Satoshi like other developer, did not have any special powers. Just like other developers, if he want to change or interfere with the Bitcoin network, he needs to reach consensus. Otherwise, the network will continue operating under its existing rule.
Even if he were to have a leadership role, it would not change anything if we were talking about the Bitcoin of today. If we were talking about some alternative Bitcoin that developed under different circumstances, then the leadership role could be an issue. One simply needs to take a look at shitcoins to confirm things are very different. Despite how much they want to claim that they are decentralized, practically none of the top ones are.

How will the government control the bitcoin network, if they find him? I would really like to hear your explanation.
What the other user wrote is incorrect and generic rubbish. There is no possibility at all for the government to take control of the network through Satoshi. Satoshi does not have any power at all, and Satoshi is dead anyway. If someone comes with proof that they are Satoshi, it can be dismissed without verification. Only people who have patterns of religious zealot thinking would claim otherwise, and even if they aren't religious themselves they have a tendency towards cult-like worship that goes back to our primal days.

We all know how Bitcoin works, so if we all understand Bitcoin, it means that no one can destroy Bitcoin, even though the internet, all networks and electricity are turned off throughout the world, if in the supernatural world the internet can be accessed, The network is there, Android, laptop can be used, maybe we will also see supernatural beings busy trading Bitcoin.
The statement is way too general and completely false. If Bitcoinn could not be destroyed in any case, then there would be no need to update or strengthen Bitcoin in any way.

Satoshi's disappearance was a necessary condition for the system to function. The design was to place authority in the code and the consensus of nodes, not in a founder. The founder's identity and intentions are supposed to be irrelevant.

If those coins moved, it wouldn't represent a failure of Bitcoin.
It would be a test of that core principle. The panic would come from people realizing their trust was still in a person, not in the system.
Any exchange that tried to freeze or block those funds would just be demonstrating why self-custody is the only actual solution. The question isn't who Satoshi is; its whether the system works without him.

All evidence suggests it does.
The coins moving does not prove anything at all, it is just naive people who don't even have any basic knowledge about Bitcoin that are commenting here whatever. There is no proof that:
  • Those coins ever belonged to Satoshi.
  • That Satoshi is the one who moved them.
  • That someone else is the one who moved them.
Therefore, uneducated and zealot like thinking will try to make a big deal out of an event that is meaningless. People have way too much free time these days that's why they write all sorts of nonsense about these things, I think we need to return to 60 or 80 hour work weeks.  Wink

Bitcoin can not be destroyed unless the government comes for it. Even the creator of Bitcoin can not destroy it unless he revealed himself which can make the price of Bitcoin to fall because of the fear that he might want to flood the market with the one million Bitcoin in his custody. His appearance will not make Bitcoin destroyed but it can crash the price of Bitcoin making it hard to sell. If the government also comes in, we could be surprised that the government can make things worsen for all of us that are holding Bitcoin.

In my opinion, even if Satoshi Nakamoto tries now, it is not possible to destroy Bitcoin. The reason is that Bitcoin is an open source decentralized protocol, so he cannot change the code alone even if he wants to. To do this, the consent of all the Miners, Node operators and Developer community is needed. So even if Satoshi is alive for the sake of argument or he wants to do it himself, he cannot forcefully change this network. And even if various institutions sell all the coins in a planned manner, it is not possible because it may crash the market but the Bitcoin protocol will not be destroyed.

None of what you have written is correct at all. The implication that Bitcoin is invulnerable to destruction aside from a government entity acting in order to destroy it is not based in reality. Furthermore, the claim that a government can destroy Bitcoin simply by coming after it -- whatever that is supposed to mean -- is completely fabricated too. What you fail to understand is that every significant government in the world has already tried to take down Bitcoin and they have not accomplished anything. They may have not utilized all the resources that are available to it were it to go on an all our war against Bitcoin, but thousands upon thousands of methods were tried and none have succeeded. This does not mean that Bitcoin is invincible, but it also does not mean that governments have super powers with which they can destroy Bitcoin simply by "coming for it". If you are unable to explain through which technological means they would be able to accomplish such a feat, that means that you yourself do not understand what you have written.

In my opinion, even if Satoshi Nakamoto tries now, it is not possible to destroy Bitcoin.
Satoshi is both dead and irrelevant.

The reason is that Bitcoin is an open source decentralized protocol, so he cannot change the code alone even if he wants to. To do this, the consent of all the Miners, Node operators and Developer community is needed. And even if various institutions sell all the coins in a planned manner, it is not possible because it may crash the market but the Bitcoin protocol will not be destroyed.
There are various ways through which Bitcoin can be attacked that do not involve making modifications to the Bitcoin Core code at all. Therefore, your conclusions are built on completely false premises -- that an attacker has to make changes to the open source protocol to accomplish this.
