When I'm watching football I like doing it with a bottle of beer, that's if I'm not smoking, this makes me enjoy the the game and allow me pay close attention to every details of the match. This has in no way increased my anxiety, neither has it had any impact on the outcome of my bets. So I don't know were your friend come up with that idea that drinking beer while watching football can lead to an increase in anxiety. From experience having beer while watching matches, makes you more passionate.

Same here, I don't like watching football without getting myself entertained of course it's also part of the fun but while doing that I usually set my limit so that I don't get tipsy. I discovered that when I'm watching football and also drinking the excitement is always in double fold than when I'm gambling without getting myself entertained with some bottles.

I know this might look unhealthy to some people but I don't see anything wrong with that as a matter of fact it's a personal decision so everyone have the right to do whatever they feel is best or right for them.

Well this is just like an argument between us watching live match between Juventus vs Galatasaray match. Which they have already concealed 1 v 2, and the match is still currently running. A friend of mine asked of having a beer while we keep watching the match as it plays, between us I mean our 3, one person insisted that we shouldn't buy anything that this could Make think so much that if the game doesn't go as we planned it would lead to much anxiety and pain towards us. Although I did bet on the game so I am actually neutral from the game but I am also supporting Juventus to win against Gal.

In my case, I don't drink alcohol, and I don't intend to someday. But I've seen how alcohol distracts people and often causes serious problems. That's why I wouldn't recommend that people drink alcohol during a football game because they can quickly lose control and create chaos wherever they're watching the game, and everything ends badly, especially if the person has made a bet. Here in my country, it always ends in a fight where people watch football games and drink beer.

I don't need a bottle of bear when I'm watching a live game even when it's my favourite team competing,  one of the mportance is to slow you down and make you relaxed Although according to research alcohol amplifies the mood of people. if they watch the game and feel anxiety alcohol can enhance that feeling. No, it wont. In fact it can make you calm. I'm not sure if that how it works for the others, but in my experience, it won't increase my anxiety or become nervous.
That's the usual setting for men while watching their favourite sports while betting during the weekend.
The only danger I could think when your gambling while drinking, is when you get drunk and bet carelessly.

The one bottle of beer you guys are going to consume won't change anything; it's just a little something to keep the throat busy while you watch the game. This is not a matter of the bear increasing the pressure on the person unless you have earlier placed a bet on the game with an amount which could make the person feel uneasy. The alcohol, if taken, can only be used as an excuse, but the person knows where the problem is coming from.

I don't think it's the beer, coffee, or anything else that will increase your anxiety; it's more about your bet and your attachment to the game.
With or without a beer, you will feel anxious and depressed if you happen to bet a huge amount that you are hoping to win, but eventually lose.
The beer will heighten the anxiety because of the alcohol content, but if you are comfortable with whatever outcome it will bring, the beer will relax you, so it's more on your reaction and mindset.

If I say this in my case, then not only will my anxiety increase but I will also have a huge chance of going to jail because the law of the country where I currently live prohibits drinking beer or alcohol in open or public places. So if someone wants to drink beer in a public place here, they will have to go to jail and at the same time there is a possibility of being flogged.
And besides, I think that by playing things like that, we won't be able to concentrate on the game more, which will reduce the real fun and craziness of the game. So I think it's better not to drink beer while betting or watching the game.

I certainly do think that drinking beer during a live match can increase your anxiety because a live match has a time duration that makes when getting to the last few minutes become unbearable mostly when you support the losing side. The tension might become heavier and that could lead to heart attack or stroke for many who aren't feeling too well.

It just depends on the individual, but for me I believe that having a beer or two while watching a game,  in most cases, increases the anxiety rather than decreasing it.

People think that having some beers at a game will help them relax, and sure,  maybe a few drinks will make the game feel more exciting,  but in my case, more relaxing?  Definitely not. If there is money or emotions involved, like if I’ve put a bet on a game, or I’m really passionate about a team, having a beer makes everything so much more intense. Every missed opportunity is more frustrating,  every bad call by the ref makes me more angrier, and I just find myself screaming and getting outraged a lot more than I would without the alcohol.

Alcohol doesn’t just relax you,  it also decreases the friction and self-control people have. So if the game is not going well with you, instead of just relaxing and enjoying the game,  having the alcohol will probably make your anxiety even worse. Even if those around you seem calm,  you will probably find yourself getting worked up even more.

So in my case, alcohol doesn’t help the anxiety,  it helps the people really feel those emotions.

Have you felt the same when betting without drinking alcohol? If not, then your claim could be right. But this never happened to me. These cases mostly happen to gamblers who always think about their bets. They become emotional because they don't want to lose.

Just a bottle of beer? lol really funny how many deprive themself from some certain activity or engagement because they feel it might distract the other. During weekends it’s actually a norm group of friends visit the bar and enjoy themselves while playing games if they choose to obviously this is another form of relaxation free from stress and work activity, drinking is also optional but, drinking will never distract your games not when you’re fully aware of the consequences probably acting funny or so, I don’t consider drinking as bad when watching live match or playing bet.

As far as I know beer has a low alcohol content, but it could also be wrong depending on the brand of beer, and usually it doesn't increase anxiety but to reduce anxiety, basically no problem at all, not a bad thing as long as you drink within reasonable limits, meaning only to make the atmosphere when watching the match much more lively. No, at least for me, when I drink beer I feel more relaxed, so it’s a positive experience. It helps me chill and not overthink too much.

Because when some of the effects of beer start to affect my brain, I will not be able to enjoy the game and make decisions or analyze it as I normally would, and I may end up staking beyond my ability to lose, which may also be the cause of my financial crisis. I think if you're not a beer drinker, yes, they do because of the alcohol content. I have friends who are habitual beer drinkers, and the alcohol content doesn't have an impact on their anxiety level; they feel the opposite, they are more relaxed and excited, and they can accept losses.
Some gamblers want a stimulant to sustain their session, and beer is one of them; some gamblers eventually become habitual beer drinkers.

Taking alcohol while watching the football matches gives a very nice felling that subdue depressive anxieties.
That is for those that already takes alcohol though because I would not want this to serve as advice to encourage alcohol intake.
It will also be stupid of a gambler who may think this groove or a set of chilling (enjoyment) of drinking beer would have influence on the games outcome.

So if you ask me about how I feel when i take beer while monitoring my games, I would tell you for free that I feel very cool that even gives me the courage to tolerate my lost bet if at all.

I believe this was discussed many times here in the gambling section that gambling and drinks are not a good combination.

It's not just anxiety, but also being stupidly making mistakes because of whatever poison is inside the beer that makes us decide badly. Either in casino games or even in sports betting, it will just be the same effect. It will be better if you can just enjoy the game with a beer, no bets. Just watch it plainly, and even if you get drunk, it won't be any problem at all.
