I had an old electrum version 4.3 on my pc which im sure its safe since already used it many times but now its lost
and had to download the latest version 4.7.0 from electrum.org im wondering if this version is safe since i heard
new versions have bugs and i do not want to end up losing my BTC is there any chance that the electrum i downloaded from
electrum.org be fake or malicious version or contain a bug that may lead to lose my BTC?

It's not compulsory to switch to a newer version as long as the older is working fine and has all you need.

Not all versions are safe. Remember, the 3.3.3 and below are vulnerable to phishing attacks that are disguised as an update. If OP isn't careful where to download Electrum, he might end up installing malware or a fake Electrum wallet.

My suggestion is you better have a separate device for an extra layer of security. Install this latest version on an offline device to import your keys, and install another of these on an online device as a watch-only wallet so that if your PC is infected with malware, you can prevent it from signing the transaction immediately, which is an advantage to double-check the transaction on the offline wallet before signing the transaction and broadcasting it on the online device.

since the electrum.org website can be compromised and the PGP signature can be switched to the attacker signature with his electrum.exe

Speaking of security, you were actually using a version (v4.3.x) with high security risk if you're using Lightning.
Check their security page for the bugs that your previous version has: github.com/spesmilo/electrum/security
(the first two moderate and high risk issues affect v4.3.x)
So, it's more preferrable to use the latest version instead of reinstalling that old version.

And there're always been bugs since those are unintended behaviors overlooked by the developers, maybe the rumors are just too vague in detail.
It isn't limited to Electrum.

For the specific bugs, you can check the latest unofficial v4.7 announcement here in this board (already linked by others) and you'll see the minor bugs reported by users.
Mostly minor issues, not much of a concern.

If you have an amount of coins you are so afraid to lose, I recommend you really consider acquiring a hardware wallet.
For an under 100$ investment and a tiny bit of learning you get a pretty good protection and peace of mind.
After your coins are on the HW you'll get asked for every transaction, so if Electrum is not OK, you'll see and not sign the transaction.

PS. If you are so much fond of 4.3 or you want a version just a couple of months older (e.g. 4.6.2), look at download.electrum.org or just click from electrum.org main page (top) onto Previous releases (there are many files there, you probably want something-setup.exe).
