A new Bitcoin home miner is out and I am just knowing about it  Undecided Undecided Undecided

It's named FluMiner T3

Spec: 115TH/s
           1700W
         ~15J/T

If you are to choose between this and Avalon Q I believe this is better, the difference isn't much though.

This miner looks very similar to Avalon Q and that one thing I'm impressed about is the massive heatsink in the T3.

Measured Power consumption

• Silent Mode: 1730Watts
• Normal: 1940Watts
• Efficient: 2210Watts

At 5 cents per kilowatt, you won't be able to recoup the cost in three years, given the upcoming halving and difficulty increase. If your price is higher, I don't see why you need it.
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/fluminer/fluminer-t3

It's an interesting option for solo mining, but it has very high power consumption. If its power efficiency were at 10J/Th, it would be great, but this is a 7th-generation ASIC.

FluMiner T3 looks like a solid option, especially with that 15J/T efficiency. If you’re comparing it to the Avalon Q, the power consumption isn’t that much different, but the heatsink on the T3 could give it a slight edge in cooling. It might be a good choice if you’re looking for something more efficient in the long run, but I’d still want to see user reviews and performance reports before deciding.  Cool

Do you want to pay off for it in two years at 5 cents per kilowatt and then throw it away after the halving?
Or do you want to play the lottery solo and pay for 40 kilowatts of electricity every day?

Clarify why this ASIC seems like a good option?

Fluminer I just hear that there is ASIC called FLUMiner

$1.30 Per month with 0.09 Electricity and today bitcoin price the answer would be nahhhh brooo, this is unprofitable in my opinion. The only profitable ASIC from FLUMiner currently is Fluminer L3 (9.5Gh/s) and it tooks long time before hit ROI, with a monthly around 500 USD it takes you 8 month maybe

For the looks or the design, it looks like a desktop CPU similar to Avalon Q, but comparing them, it seems this one is more efficient than the Avalon Q.
The only problem is the manufacturer of Fluminer is not well-known. I check their website, and it seems they don't release their own firmware publicly. Unlike Avalon Canaan, which is a well-known company, their firmware and manuals are publicly available on their site.

If you have almost free or totally free electricity, then I suggest staying with Avalon Q rather than buying FluMiner T3.

If you have free electricity, you can buy an old S19 ASIC and upgrade it with a controller or firmware to mine on one board instead of three.

There are a lot of components and spare parts for this ASIC, as well as many different firmware options for energy efficiency.
But the best thing about this option is the price of 200-300 dollars.

Yeah you can get an epic controller from altairtech.io

You can pull 2 boards sell 2 boards on ebay.

https://altairtech.io/product/bitmain-antminer-s19-xp-140t/

https://altairtech.io/product/epic-umc-universal-mining-control-board/

Cost for above is well under 1000 bucks

If you sell the two  boards on ebay for 200+200=400

You are under 600 cost.

You get about 47th at top speed and burn 1100 watts

Or clock to 35th and burn  700 watts

These work for solo mining

If you are buying this miner be ready for a lot of troubleshooting because this miner is plague with problems, coming from the reviews I have gathered online from people who risked it already, also Avalon Q is way better than this miner. This Fluminer T3 biggest problem is constant reboots after few minutes.

Some people are complaining about foul smell coming from the miner like it's burning, someone I know online claimed it smells like burning fan coil and it scares him, he had to return for another miner.

It's always best to go with miners that have good reviews or miners that are very common like Canaan miners, Bitmain and others, Fluminer is still new and has lots of problems.

How much does a controller from altairtech.io cost for the S19 ASIC?
I saw my colleagues using ASICs with Vnish firmware, which allows them to work with 1 or 2 boards. Vnish firmware is free. I wouldn't sell boards from an old ASIC, so as not to have to buy them if they break.

My links are to new gear. Not used gear.

Vnish firmware charges 2% forever and due to rounding issues it can charge closer to 2.5%

The controller from epic does not and is fee free forever. So at 139 and zero fees forever it pays for itself.

Vnish isn't a magic pill. I'll only share a small portion of the information. Vnish works fine on ASICs with factory firmware until February 2024. After that, you'll need to unlock the controller or buy a different one. Such operations usually end with the ASIC easily bricked. Therefore, it's best to consult with technical support first; the project has excellent support.

Both of you actully provide a good better option but the problem is the topic is between the Avalon Q and FluMiner t3. That is why I suggested the Avalon Q if he had almost free electricity.

About Vnish, they are good firmware but limited to supported units. Newer ones do not support it unless if you are able to unlock and disable the signature check to perform a successful firmware flashing, but if not, then the only option is to replace the control board with older firmware to be able to flash it with Vnish, or the easiest method is the control board suggested by philipma1957 and the good thing is the UI is better than Vnish.

well avalon has had a lot of gear break early on me. with mediocre support.

and fluminer has had quite a few complaints made against there support.

if i had to buy one or the other i would buy the avalon since altaitech.io sells them on their website which is usa based.
