‎Whenever I log into my Binance app, I always notice an update prompt that pops up and the funny thing is that after updating before I begin my transactions the next time I try to log in, same prompt always pops up, sometimes while am trying to trade a coin for another or trying to send funds. I believe it was programmed that way and could be so for other exchanges too.

‎The worst can be expected from being too forward without thoughts, in trying to update your exchange app everytime, mostly while in the middle of a transaction, either because you got a prompt from the exchange to update your app to their latest version or you felt like doing so because it's been a long time since you last did.

‎Mostly in this 2026 when the SEC and other coded regulatory and security bodies are aware of cryptocurrencies, updating your exchange app in the middle of a transaction could even cause your funds to be frozen, if you are not properly informed.
‎Instead, you should hit the update later button as I sometimes do, or wait until you have completed your transactions before you try to update your exchange app.

‎Here are some things that could happen when you try to update your exchange app while in the middle of a transaction:

‎1.The session could be hijacked or terminated.

‎2. Version mismatch or better known as the 'Database Ghost' where if your exchange uses state channels or complex backend APIs to handle instant swaps, where if the server expects a confirmation from Version 2.0, but since you updated it to Version 2.1 mid-request, the transaction can hang in an unconfirmed state.

‎3. Biometric & 2FA Reset of which the app may require you to re-enable FaceID, TouchID, or enter a fresh 2FA code and thus delay or cause the transaction to be cancelled.

‎4. New Bug 'Zero-Day' vulnerabilities whereby a new version, might have a glitch which is specifically affecting your phone's OS or its ability to process a specific coin.

‎5. Compliance & KYC Re-Verification after updating your app might cause you to be greeted by a 'Please upload a new ID to continue' screen and if you were in the middle of moving funds, those funds are effectively jailed or frozen until you pass the new verification requirements. This can block immediate access and affect your transactions.

‎My best advice is to ensure that the app and your internet connection are stable before you begin your transactions, and don't change them until the transaction is in your wallet, completed and confirmed.

It's not advisable to transact on an exchange with a really low battery or a really low data subscription reason being that these things could end your transaction halfway through leading to other complications later on, it's only natural to not run an update on an app that you are currently using unless it's becomes impossible to use that app without updating it first, i get your point though, because while this might seem obvious to some people there still are people who will go ahead and try to update an exchange that they are using at that very moment because a notification popped up on their screen for them to update it, it's good to let these people know that it's not a very smart idea.

Actually, I think the best way to handle this issue is to delete the binance app entirely and reinstall it after a couple of houses, maybe that will work better without having to update it anytime you login.
However, I do not see anything wrong updating your binance app so long as you have not impute your password or passkey, without doing such thing even though you are in the process of updating the app no harm will come to your funds so long as you are installing the right application.

What I will not advice is updating your CEX app while in the middle of a P2P transaction. Why because sometimes these vendors intentionally mark paid whereby they haven't paid or they paid and the transaction is pending from their end. If you today the app, it might take a lot of time to install, maybe before they do much time has passed and the time might have elapsed, so the exchange with automatically release the coin to them as you haven't confirmed your pay in your bank account.

So it's kit wise to update your exchange while in the middle of a transaction.

I basically always turn off the active updates on my mobile phone. Because if the app starts updating at the time I am going to make a transaction or if the buyer sends me money during a p2p transaction, if my app starts updating, the buyer may consider me a fraudster and file a lawsuit against me and as a result, all the dollars or coins in my account may be frozen. So I always turn off my active updates to protect myself from all these dangers. Many times, some problems appear after some updates. I update my app after a period of 2 or 3 days for that.

However, if your app starts updating during the transaction or your app updates at the time you have set everything to be transacted, then your funds will not be lost. Because your app is being updated but everything you have is saved on Binance's server. So there is no possibility of your funds being lost.

It depends, updating a software in your mobile automatically takes you to your App store. You get notified to update once you login and not at the time of transaction, always keep wallet software updated, good reason why we don't store our Bitcoin in an exchange, all of these may not be avoided, a cancelled transaction can always be redone.

I agree on this one, after being a victim of it. Normally, I use my passkey to authorize transactions in my exchange app, I know many persons don't like that type of security. On the process of making a transaction, i clicked the app update and everything changed after it updated. There was no choice but to start setting my security again, extending the time that should be use to conclude the transaction.

It is better to give a strong password instead of giving face ID in the wallet, because as Solodoski has happened to you and many others, this happens to many others, so in the case of the wallet, without making transactions and checking whether any updates have come. Then, if there is any problem going back to the wallet to save the ID, is there any problem? Many times we rush to make transactions, this is also a mistake of ours, a big mistake, due to which we can face danger, so it is better not to rush and settle down, take a little more time to make transactions, because for a little mistake you can lose your money. You need to preview the transaction at least once, just make sure that you have not forgotten somewhere. If you update the exchange app in the middle of the transaction, you may have to face a lot of danger many times. So never do such things during or in the middle of the transaction

Am sure you lost a lot of time just as it has happened to me sometime back and after I finish updating, the exchange rate may be somehow affected and thus makes me trade at a lower price ad compared to when I initially logged in to immediately do my transactions.
I am talking out of experience also, and for those who have not experienced such delays, I pray you don't, hence why I made this post to be a reminder to you, so as not to be in such situations and begin to wonder what happened.
