Before, I used to be that “happy go luck” person that does not keep track of anything. I used to just wing everything and gamble without any limitation. It was fun at first but when you come to a point where you realized that your funds are slowly draining, that will be the turning point of being reckless to responsible.
-snip-
Your laid-back attitude may be offset by a good and abundant income, so you don't worry about spending on gambling, until you finally see how much you spend on gambling.
If you are surprised by a fairly large amount just for gambling, you need to manage everything well enough, so that the money you have is not just wasted on gambling that does not really become a hobby.

If you do want entertainment, allocate it to gambling to make it clearer and not make you more extravagant because there is no exact calculation.
If you want to gamble professionally, focus and do well every game and bet that will be made, luck will also determine whether you will make a profit or not.

I want to know from your real experience, do you keep a separate gambling budget? Or do you manage everything together?
It is better to keep daily living expenses separate from the money used for casino spending. When people mix both together, after spending, they may end up being short on one side. Because of this, the balance between everyday expenses and gambling expenses does not remain stable. So, to avoid imbalance, it is wiser to keep funds for different purposes separately and maintain proper balance.

I may not be able to spend time in the casino regularly but I try to give time to it during the weekly holidays. The amount I spend on casino each week is 15$ and with that amount, I just keep playing the game for as long as it lasts. This is how my casino gameplay journey has been going, while my daily life expenses are kept completely separate.

As a gambler, one of the aspect we cant afford to fail in it is in managing our bankroll, because we have to budget ourself and gamble more responsibly at the same time, we need to budget ourself, lets not deceive each other, this is required and also important, because it helps us know what to do and how we could be in the best position of enjoying what we expect in due time, because this is all about having fun and we cant fully achieve that when the budget is not well in place.
As long as we can run our budget well, then our gambling will run normally so as not to make a mess of our finances. This is important because in gambling there will always be emotions that come up that make us want to continue playing for various reasons, wanting to win, return losses and others.

Without a budget limit, we will gamble excessively and believe me we will stop after knowing our money is gone. What's even scarier is how someone can go to any lengths to gamble, borrowing or even taking something that doesn't belong to them (stealing). Now with budget limits, it is the same as we minimize things like this.

Budget establishment is another important measure of avoiding excessive gambling behaviour. Bankroll management will also keep us upright and free of any catastrophic financial disasters. Making the decision not to spend more than we have this way aids us to keep our day to day stability. Budgeting will also help us to be at our real level because of the danger of robbing other people or taking loans in the future.

I have personally noticed one thing. Those who gamble just for fun also get into trouble at sometime just because they don't keep track of their money. Those of us who invest or trade or even try to keep separate funds for daily living expenses. But there are many who don't feel the need to keep separate funds for gambling. I didn't keep funds at first. Later I noticed that my gambling limits were being exceeded because of not keeping funds separate. Even though I gamble for fun, I try to keep separate funds.

I want to know from your real experience, do you keep a separate gambling budget? Or do you manage everything together?

Until now, i have been gambling almost every week. In the past, i never listened to other people's advice about having a good gambling budget and separating it from my living expenses, which is very important. Instead of following their advice, i continued to combine the two, thinking that there would be no difference if i separated them. Perhaps this was because at that time i had no responsibilities other than myself.

However, as time went on, i realized that separating gambling funds is very important. There are many benefits, one of which is to protect you from losses you can't afford. Responsible gamblers always do this, and i have started doing it too.

It is very important to control and set limits in gambling very well. If we play without limits, we will not be able to understand when the amount of loss will be out of our control, without our knowledge, the expenses gradually go out of control, as a result, it becomes much more difficult to manage that loss later. That is why bankroll management is very important, if the budget is limited, then we know that we are playing within a certain limit, and then the tendency to take additional risks is reduced even after a loss, which protects the gambler from unexpected losses.

Gambling can actually take you unaware with the expenses you would be making if you aren’t paying attention. That’s why having a budget or a bankroll can be a thing of great importance to a gambler. In a way, it sets you in the place of control, having limits and knowing just when to stop. Not having that could lead to some extra or lavish gambling that would result in you chasing losses, gambling away more than you can afford to lose and be filled with regrets. Budgeting sets your course and keeps you in line with your finances.

However, as time went on, i realized that separating gambling funds is very important. There are many benefits, one of which is to protect you from losses you can't afford. Responsible gamblers always do this, and i have started doing it too.

I don’t set a budget but the thing with my gambling is that I usually only deposit the minimum amount the casinos or gambling sites allow or go a bit higher (depending on whether it’s local or crypto casino) and that alone is enough to get me in a safe spot without having to go through all the hassle of setting a budget and also doing bankroll management, the only time I do this is when I deposit a significant amount and I know that I’m strictly there to chase for profit.

Again, this whole setting aside money for gambling, using a certain percentage of your income and all those other stuffs just makes it sound as if you all are treating gambling as something that “must” be done. It’s not a must to gamble, if you don’t have money sit it out, you don’t have to start going through some accounting process to figure if there’s money for gambling or not.

Having a budget is good, infact very necessary for every gambler, but unfortunately, it doesn't do all the magic you know, in fact that's kind of the easiest part because anyone can just wake up one morning and decide to set a budget for themselves, where the real deal lies is actually sticking to those budgets. Some gamblers can set budgets for themselves today, and tomorrow they've already forgotten they had a budget, so it requires one with self control and discipline to actually stick to these budgets, which every gambler also needs.

Yea, it is not about budgeting, the most important thing is discipline. Budgeting with no discipline is pure joke. Personally, I do not have a gambling budget. That is be because, I do not gamble regularly, hence do not see the need for making a budget for something I don't do often.  But whenever I gamble, I make sure that I set limits for myself, both financial limits and time limit. With my approach to gambling, I may be doing better than a gambler that sets a budget but has no discipline to control how he spends from both the budget and outside the budget.

I have seen this topic on here quite a bit but I wouldn't ever argue that it shouldn't be in our field of vision and frame of mind at all times when partaking in gambling activities. Once one loses sight of ones budget they spend without cease and with extreme lack of taste. Something like a horse who can't see where its going or a boat that has no compass in the middle of the ocean is the same way a gambler wanders aimlessly in the sea of bad decisions!

Right from time, I've always removed and kept a separate gambling funds anytime I am willing to gamble, that is, if I want to gamble today, I will remove $30 (for example) from my pay and keep aside and get busy doing other important things I ought to be doing, then when it's my leisure time and when I am ready to gamble, I will send the $30 I kept aside to the casino of my choice and start gambling with it, and If I am not lucky to win and immediately the fund is exhausted, I quit immediately, I don't make that mistake of making fresh deposit to continue gambling.

I think with or without setting aside a gambling budget, any body can still gamble without issues if only they will know how to control their self and stay absolutely disciplined well enough to know exactly when to call it a day and don't turn or look back no matter how heavy the temptation to keep gambling is, I say this because I've seen gamblers who set a budget still end up in gambling mess because they lack discipline, like making fresh deposit and continuing to gamble even when their initial budget has been exhausted.

The problem with gambling is even though you are keeping track of your expenses we sometimes forget that there is just a certain limit that needed to spend, because we loss in gambling we wanted to get it back, and eventually forget that winning or losing should be limit your spending.
They sometime say okay this is the last money, but forget it along the way, we over spend, and the budgeting is just history from there, doing it more often and enjoying make us forget were on a budget scheme.

There will always be a difference in the finances of those who "live one day at a time," and those who skillfully manage them. Similarly, we can talk about people who save money exclusively for gambling. These are people who are "not far away" from those who have already acquired a gambling addiction. The most reasonable way to allocate your finances would be to identify available funds, including those for general entertainment, from those required for spending on basic needs and closing obligations, such as taxes and necessary monthly or regular payments. And yes, I agree that sometimes there are temptations for unplanned spending, but they should not be squandered on gambling, as there is always a great danger of losing them, which can damage one's own financial situation.

The most important thing is discipline and knowing that there is a limit you are not supposed to cross. setting a budget aside for gambling is important but not everyone that doesn't do this end up having huge losses. If you have been gambling for a while and active on this section of the forum you should be experienced enough to understand how to manage your finances when gambling. Even if you set a budget aside it takes discipline to stick to it.
That is the simple truth, without even told we are meant to know how to make informed decision by now because any gamblers that is active in this gambling discussion board don't need to be advise about anything anymore because it has always been on how to gamble responsibly with the amount that wouldn't affect you negatively after all the final outcome. So is all about discipline and self control all the time, nothing more than that.

Proper financial management entails that you do proper allocation of your money into the right things and that an appropriate percentage goes into those things such that no aspect of your financial needs is found lacking or missing out on anything. while even doing your budgeting, you have to allocate money for investment, expenses, and for other areas and fun related stuff which is where gambling falls under. it is not even right that the only fun you have be gambling. you should consider doing other things so your attention does not go into gambling alone which will help balance things up for you.

But i think it is not only about gambling within a budget but also, why you're gambling. Many people say that if you have a limit, there's no problem but in reality people use that limit as an excuse to gamble regularly. Then it changes from being entertainment to being habit. Another thing is that being able to manage a budget means being financially disciplined but if that discipline can be used for investments or your own skill development, then you'll get more profit in the long term, I think it's not about reducing losses in gambling but the growth that you get by using that money and time elsewhere is more valuable.

Yes, gambling can be done by following the right method by conducting gambling in a disciplined manner. And if we cannot follow the right rules while gambling, then it will not be possible to maintain self-control over ourselves, and if we start gambling without following good discipline while gambling, then it will not be possible to conduct gambling by following the right rules, as a result, there will be no self-control over ourselves, due to which the risk of losing money will increase manifold and the possibility of addiction will increase manifold. Therefore discipline in gambling is very important.

Casinos or any type of gambling should never be seen as a source of income, it is a way of entertainment so it is better to take it as entertainment only. Losing in gambling is very natural and very possible, and because this fact of losing is so natural, it is so necessary for us to maintain limitations here. If we cannot accept the fact of losing as normal and cannot accept it, then later on our activities will be more likely to go out of control. So it is very important to be careful here, otherwise getting addicted and losing everything is certain.
That's why we should have little money to gamble with , protect ourselves in a good way , and not be preoccupied with other worries I think this has a lot to do with the responsible way we Manage our money for these events It's not the same to spend money in casinos as it is to spend money on other activities that will benefit us , like going for a walk or spending time with family That's why priorities are essential; gambling shouldn't be the first option.

Whatever we do that is related to our finances, we must be very wise in responding to it. Moreover, this is gambling where the risk of losing is much greater than winning. Once we follow our emotions and get away from our budget plan at the beginning, then we will lose a lot of money.

The thing we are always afraid of is when we don't have money, because we have needs that we must always fulfill every time. Our allocation of funds for gambling should be very small, maybe 1-3% of our total income. But this can vary depending on what we decide.
