Humans can have a rest day and can create unions that will be against the company. But this isn't about that, AI is cheaper and they're going to have more profit if they choose to layoff that 4k jobs and have it replaced by ai.

In today's employment, we know that there is no more permanent job. We've seen it in different perspectives and occasions.

Like before with the pandemic, and now with the emergence and adoption of ai.

Companies will always find a way to shortchange their employees, and with the emergence of AI, they have found a way. For companies, they do not want their employees demanding a lot of benefits and compensation, and they are safe from unions.
With all of these, they can save a lot, expand their companies, and double or even triple their profits.
Companies are the ones that truly benefit from these AIs.

But why would a profitable companies want to be reducing employees when they are in profit and the business is blooming?

He did the workers good though. You can read it directly on X.

This is one powerful business strategy I've come across in years, I understand the reasons for cutting down on this number of jobs. The thing is in business there are times you'll need to give back to the business more like investing back the profits made by the company and organisation inorder to improve their services and offer the best of it. From the explanation I'm abit convinced that they've sorted out the best hands and ready to work with the few other than so many that's to exert so much efforts on the AI development.

It's such a pathetic situation to leave an organization you have put so much work into. Some of these workers have plans that surround their work in this organization. However, it is a reminder that no job is secured, hence there is a need to have alternatives.

Business owners don't care about the emotions or future of workers. All they are focused on is maximizing profit. So, regardless of how much they are making, they are ready to sack all employees if they discover a tool that can make the cost of operations cheaper. Although the affected workers are going home with a severance package, many lives will be impacted negatively.

This is an example of the effect of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace. This is why workers should have more than one skill because no job is safe.
Pathetic? Don't forget that this has happened multiple times around tech companies, and TBH, there's nothing wrong with it.

Amazon in around 1 year eliminated around 30,000 corporate roles because of AI.
IBM is planning to remove around 3,000-8,000 jobs because of AI.
Microsoft is continuing to cut jobs because of its transition to AI.

There are many more, and there's one reason as to why. Cost-efficiency. Emotions of future of workers? Laying off is part of a company, and if you're a business owner, you would always think of profit first rather than focusing on the emotions of your employees. Yes, we are there already that laying off is a very hard thing to do as a business owner, but businessman always want to maximize their profits, and at the same time, following the current trend which is right now, AI. I will not explain it in detailed, but go make a research on how Kodak failed and went bankrupt. They didn't follow the trend back then and they focused on what they're doing and in exchange, other companies passed them, and Kodak? It went bankrupt because they want to adopt to the technology. That's also one reason why most tech companies want to add AI to their system, and if that includes laying off workers then so be it.

AI is coming, and it's inevitable. On the succeeding years, AI will take over some of the jobs and if you will not adopt to it, you will be one of the employees that will be laid off. Emotion? Go learn a skill that's AI related. Many will be impacted negatively yes, but if you will not adopt to the current environment, your life would be in trouble. You also said that no job is secured and that's true. That's also why like what I said, we need to adopt to what's happening.

From 10000 jobs, over 4000 will be cut, reducing it to less than 6000 jobs.

He said there is improvement in profitability and that they are not in trouble but he made the decision because of intelligence tools that they are creating. That simply means that they are reducing job because of AI.

But why would a profitable companies want to be reducing employees when they are in profit and the business is blooming?

He did the workers good though. You can read it directly on X.

If a company is rapidly rising in success does not mean they cannot drop half of the people working for them through a mutual understanding, planning of what they are targeting could subject them into difficult decision they have made because there targets could be something they have examined with the working performance of human and the working performance of AI to no which one they should look at, perhaps that's why AI is what they want with the half of number of their former employees they have. Although we can also learned that if AI is actually how people thought about it in replacing every work, the company might not have need 6,000 employees after introducing the system.

Of course they are not going to lay off everybody, there are still roles that cannot be filled with intelligence tools (AI). That said, they are downsizing from 10k to 6k, so that means they are laying off 40% of their workforce, which is quite a lot no matter how you wanna look at it. I don't believe AI will take most of the jobs performed by humans, but the further AI tools advance, the more it would change a lot in how institutions manage their workforce. In short, i believe it will replace certain jobs, but also create new opportunities.

We can learn from this, that we employees are just subjects or objects to these companies. No matter how likeable the personality of the owner of that company is, at the end of the day, they're only going to make sure that everything is on their benefits and with their company. We're all replaceable and the AI popularity now is not something to be ignored by everyone who's got a long term job and have been believing that they'll retire on their jobs. It's now high time to think of plan Bs if ever your company starts to adopt this trend.
