i know it is just a meme but personally i do not understand those who say they quit their jobs because they believe bitcoin will go to 1 million.

In my personal opinion, this is highly inadvisable, especially if your job is your only source of income. Perhaps if you have been accumulating Bitcoin for years and have managed to accumulate a large amount and the price of Bitcoin has reached $1 million, then it would not be a big problem. You could live off your Bitcoin or build a business by selling a small portion of it. However, if you are still in the accumulation phase, do not take such risks, do not put yourself and your family at risk for hopes that have not yet been realized.

I'm also confused by people who quit their jobs after making a profit from BTC investments or crypto trading. I have a friend who quit his job because he wanted to focus on trading. He believed that on several occasions, he'd even made more profit from trading than his monthly salary. This has only been going on for a few months, and I haven't heard from him again.

My friend's mindset is completely flawed. He should have kept working even though he was also trading for extra income. The crypto world is unpredictable, and sometimes we lose money, and when we're unemployed, it's difficult to start from scratch. This is similar to the story the OP shared. Even if you have a lot of Bitcoin, you shouldn't quit your job. By working you generate income and can make continuous purchases gradually thus increasing your Bitcoin accumulation.

There is no one as stupid as those who quit their jobs after seeing the price of Bitcoin. I would call them both greedy and stupid. It is true that the price of Bitcoin will definitely increase in the future but it will take a long time to reach 1 million, that does not mean that you have to invest all your money there. If someone do that it will be like the meme given by the OP. I would say that the money you used to save in the bank you invest that money in Bitcoin. This way the money will be safe along with the family. Because everyone has a monthly expense and it is not possible to get it continuously from Bitcoin.

That is up to them but I will not quit my job if Bitcoin is at 1 million. I will still work as usual and prepare my retiring. Unless I have many Bitcoins, 1 million for example, maybe I will consider to quit my job.

If you have 500 BTC in your stash, would you still not quit your job? In my place, that amount is good enough to secure the next generations.  So I would quit my job and setup a business to make full use of the funds I have.  Money begets money, with huge funds, moving to being an entrepreneur from an office worker is a wise thin, IMO.

We all hope Bitcoin will be at 1 million someday but we don't know how long Bitcoin achieve that. We should keep accumulating to have more Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is here for a long term, so I think it is not bad to continuously accumulate Bitcoin until we think we have enough.

I won't advise anyone to make decisions based on mere feelings. When we hear people talk about Bitcoin going to a $1M, it is only speculation, there is no certainty in what they are saying. For the folks who would quit their job because they believe Bitcoin will reach a certain amount have made a huge mistake tat they will regret later in the future. Wont it be better if tey keep their job while hoping for the price to reach the $1M? Make it make sense to me, why they have to quit their job? I have never seen anyone who would do that.

The issue is how someone who quits their job will manage their daily life with their family. That's not ideal, because without income, it will be much more difficult to manage both their family life and their Bitcoin investments. A journey filled with speculation about the price can create problems for any investment. What about living expenses, children's education and other expenses? Does quitting a job provide another source of income to cover these needs? Otherwise, they'll ultimately have to sell their Bitcoin when they need cash and how their investments can grow is crucial. Ultimately, investing is about asset growth, not just the short-term profits generated from the investment. I believe that's a flawed decision as I see many people struggling to find work and it would be foolish to quit their jobs just to focus on investing.

Yes, what you say makes sense. It is one thing to believe that you can get rich by owning Bitcoins, and it is quite another to base future desires on that notion, as a reason to quit your job. Such investments as Bitcoin remain volatile and unpredictable. Nobody can tell when the price target will go. Thus, it is a more logical choice to have a source of income that is active. Through employment or owning a business, it is still possible to meet the cost of living and invest on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, the stable income enables us to add more Bitcoin to our possession. The future of Bitcoin is optimistic, and this should be balanced with a realistic attitude.

Someone quits his job because he believes bitcoin will reach $1M, then where can he pay for his daily life and bills every month? By not working, someone can no longer accumulate bitcoin because there is no money earned to buy it.

Moreover, to get to $1M / BTC it takes a long time maybe I estimate more than 10 years to reach it, so from not leaving work, just for the sake of wishful thinking bitcoin will save you to the price of $1M even though this price is still too far to be true.

Having a job makes your finances more stable and your long-term investments will not be disturbed.

For the fact that bitcoin is volatile and unpredicted it makes no sense for one to quit their job or quit whatever generate money for them just to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is very valuable but you cant rely on it even if you choose to trade which profit can be made shortly.  

The market is very volatile and cant be predicted and this makes Bitcoin  risky, it will be more risky when you quit your job just to depend on bitcoin for source of income. Since Bitcoin cant be predicted it is better to have a source of income that one can rely on when those unpredicted movements in the market takes place.

I don't have intentions of quitting my job now until I have expanded my business to the level I want, currently I'm growing my business as retirement plan but I also have a real job I'm doing and I will resign from the job once my business has grown so high the way I want it, by then I will need to give a complete attention to the business, I can manage my business and my Bitcoin investment and become wealthier than I am but not to stop my business because of Bitcoin.

It is unbelievable that someone that has a job will quit because he his now into bitcoin, how is he going to fund his investment and how is he going to survive will he now base all his expenses on whatever he gets from bitcoin? In that way such person will not be able to invest for a long term but short term which will be making him a trader since he will be surviving whatever proceeds from the sales of bitcoin.

Not quiting your job and investing in bitcoin gives you an edge over bitcoin investment because you don't have to struggle before having your discretionary income, backup funds and reserve fund, it gives you a stable investment without panicking or fear of the unknown, and make your investment foundation solid before you can quit and then focus Bitcoin properly.

Some people decide to leave their job just because they have invested in bitcoin already, and some of them are traders, as long as bitcoin price keeps on increasing, they believe they going to be making money, but even if you are a trader, and you are making money from trading, you should know that time will come when things won’t really be going well for you as a trader, and you might be needing your job for survival.

Also we are not even suppose to have a source on income. Investment and trading won’t stop us from getting ourselves involved in some other things, so investment shouldn’t even be the reason for any to quit his or her job.

10 years ago, saying that Bitcoin would reach 1 million dollars was a huge prediction. Right now, saying 1 million means less than a 20x increase. It's already more or less certain that this will eventually happen. I don't know if it will take 5 years or 15 years, but one day it will.

An increase of around 20x wouldn't be enough to make anyone retire anyway. So telling people to quit their jobs for this reason doesn't make sense. Keep working and increase the number of coins you hold. That's the best thing to do.

Investment is building wealth, it's not an instant reward situation, so what is the need of quitting your job, I don't feel that's a sensible thing to do, thinking of it is not sensible as well.

When you stay in the workforce, you beat early retirement trap of just retiring when you are making money and then you find yourself in need of extra money to continue buying more Bitcoin at slow market cycles. This steady flow of money will make sure that you do not end up as forced seller who has to sell off items just to get basic needs such as groceries which usually happens when price falls fast. i believe bitcoin will go to 1 million but i am not going to quit my job and sit around waiting for that to happen unless i am already at my retiring age. i need to find other sources of income, whether that's within the bitcoin ecosystem or not, in order to continue buying more bitcoin in order to be prepared when i finally am ready to sell and when bitcoin has already hit a million in value.

besides, if you are at a point of instability wherein you will need to apply to mcdonalds just because bitcoin dropped for a few thousand dollars then i do not think you should be quitting your job at all.

Personally, I don't want to be one-sided on this one and will say that because I still believe that you can just quit your job, and focus on crypto PROVIDED that you have a Plan B just in case things go south like what's happening right now.

Unfortunately, those who already quitted doesn't have one, and they're the ones that are struggling right now. They're the ones that are applying as a waiter on McDonalds or any other fastfood restaurants currently. Yes, this is just a meme, but there's a possibility that this might be true to other who quitted their job, and wanted to focus on crypto only to end up being miserable. Do I agree with what you said? Kind of because I've also seen people who quitted their job, focused on crypto and ended up being successful. Majority didn't succeed though so it's kind of depends on the person.

If you don't have a Plan B, don't quit your job. If you don't have another source of income that will help you in case you fail, don't quit your job. If you can do both then do it.

Leaving your job to invest all your effort in Bitcoin is huge mistake as it is step towards mixing long term investment and daily pay.
As Bitcoin does not give salary, jobless person is finally forced to sell his or her investment to afford basics such as food and housing in market, mostly at time when prices are at their lowest, so breaking market. People that lack a steady cash flow are more likely to worry sell.

Personally, I think your best investment tool is to hold on to job since it will remove mind stress of changing price and will let you get through waiting time. Can you actually buy 10 homes or apartments with only 1 million dollars? Maybe in some countries, but in most, that's not possible. Besides, I also don't believe that a person can actually make a comfortable living only through rent because you also have to do maintenance and everything for all the places you have rented every time you change the tenant. I know that it can be profitable, but not good enough, and there can be better options than that for sure.

Bitcoin is obviously not something on which you can rely on for constant profits because we know that the market has a cyclical pattern where it has both a bear market and a bull run in each cycle, which means that you might make good profits in the bull run, but as the bear market approaches, you will basically stop making any profits anymore if you are only into investments and do no futures and stuff, so it's not reliable that way, but one can make good profits from it if they have a large investment, $1m or even $500k would make someone good money if they invest during the bear market and wait until the bull run.

Even if you are holding a significant amount of bitcoin, I don't see any reason that one should quit his job. Buying and holding bitcoin does not require 8 hours a day just to make it done, you can actually do it in your free time, so quitting from one's job is really an insignificant decision.

Even if you're into trading, quitting your job will only add pressures on your part. Because profiting from your trades is already a must, not an option, and it hurts more knowing that no matter how good and professional you are, success is still never guaranteed especially if the market suddenly changes its position.

Do not quit from your job, but save it. The more you need regular funds once you decide to enter bitcoin investment and trading.
